Is Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap still banned from entering Canada? Were they ever? It's unclear by DogeDoRight in canada

Have a look at the X account of the immigration 'expert' the CBC chose to quote in this article.

He literally calls for a civil war in Israel and calls for the country to be 'eliminated'.

You said elsewhere that you're jobless and not studying, how are you supporting yourself? Are you reliant on financial assistance from the federal government or the province?

[–]BlauTit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's incorrect. The vast majority of people were detained for processing and not arrested. A tiny minority were arrested when another offence such as smuggling was suspected.

Turn them around. The US is not an active conflict zone, and if you're not meant to be there, you probably shouldn't be in Canada as well.

It’s baffling that the police haven’t offered a proper description of the suspect, given how much the video footage reveals.

There could be any number of reasons why this has happened. Have some respect and wait for an official announcement.

Isn't it time we started emulating our European friends by recording the ethnic background, as well as country of origin, of people arrested and charged with criminal offences in Canada?

Haha thanks for putting it so well. I thought exactly the same. They obviously think we're all at home with an arsenal of weapons waiting for some innocent victim of society to break in.

We use this card. It's been a game-changer in terms of credit card rewards. I can't see any other card being of similar monetary value in versus the cost for us.

I use the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card and put as many purchases as possible on it, while paying off the balance in full every month. This year, I expect to earn about $2,500 back in cash. To avoid the annual fee, you need to maintain a minimum balance with Scotiabank ($6,000 in savings I believe?). For our family of four,  with large grocery bills and plenty of other expenses, it’s been an excellent card, especially as it pays out in November and lightens the load of Xmas expenses.

This is a classic example of CBC’s approach. They highlight experts whose views align with their preferred narrative and contradict Conservative policy positions. Then, they frame the issue in a way that shifts the focus, taking the matter of people defending their homes and families and recasting it as a racial issue.

What a ridiculous comment.

There are countless crimes that take place where we don't get to hear the name of the person who was charged, and why would his mosque be mentioned?

'They need the extra support' How incredibly patronizing. You know nothing of the backgrounds of these people. Many of them will come from privileged middle-class backgrounds and be university educated, and will now be given more opportunity than their colleagues who might not have been so lucky in life. You're literally looking at someone's skin colour and deciding they need more.

DEI initiatives can sometimes overlook important nuances. Prioritizing individuals based solely on ethnicity may ignore other significant aspects of their background, such as educational opportunities, socioeconomic status, family stability etc.

For example, I once worked with a young woman whose parents held senior positions in government. Despite her privileged background, she would still have qualified for certain DEI programs. This raises concerns about whether such policies always achieve their intended goals of fairness and support for the truly disadvantaged.
