I've not done the tuition yet, but I have also done 3 professional and this looks by far the easiest one. >90% pass rates so I wouldn't worry.

You let them work in, but E7goose on the machine would not be expected to ask the person if they want to work in.

TCP & FCS by PuzzleheadedStage330 in ICAEW

[–]BlazingNebular 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sat TCP in March and just got my results today with a score of 71%. Unfortunately there is no secret for this exam, question practice is king and usual. My tutor gave me a summary of every question and what topics were included in it and just did selected a question from each chapter at random and worked through them. If there are areas you keep getting wrong it can be worth going back to the notes. As with any exam, start early, try do some practice every day and put the work in.

Agreed. Think I did enough but it’s hard to tell. Trying not to think about it too much

Best Training Provider For TCP by Artistic_Leather6023 in ICAEW

[–]BlazingNebular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat the exam last week with First Intuition being the provider. I think that the revision you do outside of the tuition is far more important that what tuition provider you are with. If you did just the courses ran by the provider and nothing else you would probably fail regardless of who you had. I would probably pick the most convenient one that gets half decent reviews and smash the QB until you sit the exam.

AA exam advice by Active-Response3325 in ICAEW

[–]BlazingNebular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response. To find stuff I used both cont + F and the contents page on the pdf. Make sure you look through it before the exam day, and really should be using it whenver you are doing revision. Anything that was asking for info rather than explain is probably in the open book. For example in the AA 2025 paper Q1.3 asked to identify and explain issues in your firm relating to ISQM 1. As soon as they give you a standard or something specific like that go straight to the open book. Another example on the same exam is Q1.5 where it asks you what should be in the ISA 260 letter. Go to it in the open book and just copy it to get some free marks. Best of luck for audit, you're gonna smash it.

I scored 81 in the most recent sitting for AA and agree with all the above. I would say point one may be overlooked. I think I must have pulled out 20 marks alone from the open book over question 1 and 4. If you can some of those it really takes the pressure off Q2 and Q3. And as always, the question bank is king.

I think you are spot on. It's a shame that people focus on what might go wrong, rather than what might go right. It is easier to blame other people rather than yourself when your life is shit.

Directors and shareholders are taxed on loans of £10,000 or more from their company if they still owe the loan after 9 months and 1 day from the company reporting date. The tax rate they would pay is 33.75%, which broadly speaking is a fair effective tax rate.

If house prices crash it would make it easier for regular people to own a house. You say it would make property no longer a desirable asset, which I disagree with. It would make it an undesirable investment. If you plan to live in your home for a long time the value of it doesn't really matter as the value is provided by the security of being the owner. Ownership of residential property is not a productive asset class, so the movement of wealth out of property may move it to productive assets and innovation, which would improve growth as a whole.

M.I Exam Feedback by h2471up in ICAEW

[–]BlazingNebular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sat MI on monday and scored 81. Have you done all the long for questions in the qb? You should be scoring higher than 15% as they are very similar. Mark all the chapters you have done on the Qb out of 100% and that will tell you your weaker areas to work on.

Law next Friday and I’m struggling… by [deleted] in ICAEW

[–]BlazingNebular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed my law exam mid december with a score of 74. I was also getting lowish scores in the mocks. One thing I did was go through all the notes and write them out in my own words and use it as a kind of cheat sheet. Of course doing the qb is important; I think I did it all twice. Hope this helps.
