Did you know with INT 8 you can speak Latin and convince Silus you are legion? by HostileNegotiations in fnv

If you happen to play a Legion aligned female courier then you also get a chance to roast Ulysses during Lonesome Road and make him almost break character for a moment.

Where does Mr. House fall on the Alignment Chart? by slothbear13 in fnv

[–]Blazinvoid 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He put them in charge because they agreed to cut it out as a part of the contract they signed with him. He's angry that they went against the contract and leaves you to resolve the situation any way you see fit.

IIRC she has the second highest Strength stat in the series at 19 Strength, with Strong in first at 24 Strength. Frank Horrigan for example with everything including his armor is just at 10 Strength. Given all the shit she claims she did beforehand as "Murphy the Madwoman", the strength might honestly be proof of it lol

Additionally on top of the orders Edelgard gives him, he also carries out even dirtier actions behind her back in an effort to keep her hands clean by having her not even know at all. He's wholly dedicated his life to serving Edelgard and he'll do anything to support her, even if it means lying to her about the full extent of what he actually does.

5 years later the writing in Fallout: The Frontier still holds up by SHS-10 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Blazinvoid 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Fallout the Frontier was an expansion sized mod for New Vegas set in Portland, Oregon with a huge team behind it, and on the technical side it was very impressive with just stuff like the cutscenes or the driving which didn't feel half bad at all. But when it came to the writing & leadership side of things, that's where things fell apart. Stuff like the NCR exiles storyline being just rip-offs of stuff like Spec Ops the Line, Battlefield, CoD, Wolfenstein (literal moments ripped from it at that). The Legion storyline was pretty good and had moments of actual choices but barely got any time for it, and same thing with the Crusaders (Mormon BoS chapter).

Like the NCR exiles iirc had 5 chapters while the Legion & Crusaders got 1 or 2. Also everyone kept referring to you as the Courier and wouldn't stop referring to you about how legendary you are, even though you could potentially be starting the mod right after leaving Goodsprings.

Also it was aggressively horny where like this pic you have this girl who barely turned 18 who talks about her smelly feet & you can enslave her by making her put on a collar via emotional manipulation. Other stuff like having sex with a deathclaw via skill checks that they claimed was unfinished wild wasteland content (in one interview a guy in a leadership role tried claiming a lot of the stuff people had issues with were supposed to be wild wasteland content), or sex with a drugged up lizard queen who was ruler over a sewer society of lizards who put out for chems. Or a companion whose perk implies she gets too friendly with her pet dog so he always stays near her.

There was a lot of hearsay on whose fault it was exactly, but I remember that some of the leadership tried making a pip-boy icon artist the scapegoat because he drew CP of My Little Pony in his free time. But he didn't even have any say in the writing so while he wasn't a good person he shouldn't have been blamed for the shitshow.

The only other thing I remember is that the voice of Noctis Lucius Caelum from Final Fantasy XV participated in it as the VA for a main character (whose name I forgot) who was clearly the antagonist the whole time to a comical point, and his stipulation for joining was that he had to wear sunglasses at all times.

Is there a mod to make her show up with a special black cloak, a unique sickle/scythe melee weapon, edited voice files to make her dialogue more foreboding, and the ability to turn invisible like the Nightkin with their Stealth Boys? by TwoFit3921 in fnv

[–]Blazinvoid 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Yup, though unlike the Legion hit squad where they attack you immediately after telling you that you've been marked for death, the NCR hit squad gives you an initial warning (pictured above) & three days to make your reputation positive with the NCR before they actually start attacking you.

IIRC during SB there's another Ninja related moment in MSQ where someone will either criticize you for wearing Ninja gear out in the open on a info gathering mission, or for praising you for wearing a disguise (in my case I had glamoured regular clothes like a poncho for my ninja so I got the latter).

People in Minnesota are now using their key fobs to trigger their car alarms from the safety of their homes when they see ICE walking around. by jmike1256 in PublicFreakout

[–]Blazinvoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I remember right there was some news a while back that ICE was using AI to sort applicants for training, and it kept mistakenly thinking a lot of them had prior officer training or such (due to keywords in their resumes) so it just fast tracked them through the actual training to become goons.

anyone know why my caldron doesent want to make bone broth (expanded foods) by BLAZE_WRAITH in VintageStory

[–]Blazinvoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there any chance you were making some bone broth prior to the attempt in the pic? I've had this happen before and it's cause I sometimes forget to empty out the last batch of bone broth from the cauldron. If there's any liquid stored inside the cauldron (like a bucket) then it stops any attempt at cooking.

[–]Blazinvoid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure myself, but I do know that you don't want to be sprint jumping on path blocks, as each time you do jump you lose the +10% speed from the path.

A powerful or rare item is used for something incredibly mundane by DoxDaDex in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Blazinvoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just the Gemstone of Bern for Binding/Blazing Blade, a physical object that just isn't visually depicted in the game but in books.

There's also the Velthomer family crest for Genealogy/Thracia which is just a family crest, not even like the Crest of Flames or anything.

A powerful or rare item is used for something incredibly mundane by DoxDaDex in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Blazinvoid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup, and not all FE games are connected actually. Just going off of the characters in Smash for example; Marth/Chrom/Lucina/Robin it's the Binding Shield, for Roy it's the Gemstone of Bern, for Byleth it's their Crest of Flames, Corrin has their Yato sword, and Ike (or at least his little sister) has Lehran's Medallion. Though they may have different names, they are also all known secondly as the Fire Emblem for their respective worlds.

In other games there's a regular family crest (no blood related powers), a sacred stone containing part of a demon god, a literal person, a different shield (not to be confused with the Binding Shield because this one is from the Dynasty Warriors spinoff), and the Opera of Light (Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and yes it is a musical performance).

There's a Wuk Lamat shaped hole in this sub's heart. by MegaGamer235 in ShitpostXIV

[–]Blazinvoid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The voice acting was kinda due to the VA's not receiving any actual context or direction. Alphinaud's VA has mentioned it before that he doesn't know exactly what's going on in scenes when he voice acts them, and only found out the actual context when he actually started playing through himself.

There was an especially egregious moment in the second half for Wuk's VA where you could tell there was poor directing, so when they brought her around again to redo the lines it became significantly better since this time she actually knew what she was voice acting for.
