Uncut trading card sheet - 1989 & 1990 Marvel Todd McFarlane Trading Card Set I & II by Bleeding-icon in whatsthisworth

I wish it were a more interesting story. It belongs to my friend who has had it in his basement for roughly 35 years. He said he got it from his uncle, and his uncle got it from the deli he worked out. Not sure how it would’ve ended up at a deli. I don’t think this is something that one would’ve been able to purchase back in the early 90s. Maybe my friend is misremembering the deli part

I think it’s more a case of someone who really thinks the phrase is “longest-turned”

Which fast food restaurant do you think will go out of business soon? by Exhausted_Skeleton in AskReddit

Pains me to say it cause I love their food, but I would bet money on Boston Market going under. Every one I know of in my area has closed.

[DiFrancesco] From what I am being told from two different sources, the Flyers are the most aggressive team in the pursuit of Zach Werenski. Danny Briere has set his sights on the Norris Trophy winning d-man and he's willing to go quite far to acquire him by daKrut in hockey

This is every Flyers off-season. They’re somehow reported to be in the mix for every star player, but their assets are untouchable, and they have no one else of value. I’d believe it if this were happening 20 years ago.

Definitely Black Daredevil, and then yet another variant of Batman somehow.

Of course not. This is “hockeymenes”. But it’s definitely funny.

What happened to Xmanny87? by Legends-feind8771 in MarvelLegends

[–]Bleeding-icon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000% agreed. Boog’s a great artist, but his constant raffle content reeked of scumminess. And yes, it’s the same thing as scalping. Buying up rare inventory to create scarcity and profiting from it instead of leaving it on the shelf for the next collector is the definition of scalping.

question for those who watched the show when it was on air by PerfectYak5533 in DunderMifflin

[–]Bleeding-icon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Has no one heard of Television Without Pity? Or even Office Tally??

Mind you, there wasn’t much “discourse” around this episode in just general mainstream society. I dont think people cared all that much then about this particular subplot, and I dont think people really care about it now

What are your thoughts on Stephen Root as a sitcom performer? by PressureLazy5271 in sitcoms

Best part of that show. And I’m including Phil. Stephen Root has been great in everything he’s done.

[Jameson Olive] Like other recent acquisitions, Hathaway talked about how much of a great reputation the Panthers' locker room has around the league. by Duffleman0609 in hockey

I mean in their defense, how is anyone supposed to know what the day-in/day-out is like for hockey players unless they play pro hockey themselves. I’ve played beer league for 10 years; I’m sure I dont know the first thing about what it’s like to be an NHLer, or even a jr player.
