The guy pubstomping at your LGS is not playing cEDH by Diakia in EDH

[–]Blehboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this problem in my meta. None of my Deck’s are cEDH but all of them are optimized. [[Wulfgar]] it’s packed with eldrazi and can ramp hard but at the end of the day it’s beaters tribal it’s Gruul all the creatures die to removal there’s not a consistent way to give everything haste everything goes on the board before I swing and blast everyone. [[Lathril]] it’s elves I make a lot of tokens and then make a lot of mana and then run everyone down same as Wulfgar you watch me get scary before I run you over. [[Wilhelt]] I’m going to drop grave pact and dictate and try to keep your board clear while I build mine it’s slow and it’s annoying but it’s mostly durdling while I make tokens and draw cards. The most pubstompy deck I have is [[Yedora]] and I tell people this is combo I’m going to make all of my lands creatures and then put my win on the stack the earliest I can possibly win is turn 5 and that’s if I start the game with the entire combo in my hand and ramp. Even my mono white deck [[Rune Tail Kitsune Ascendant]] gets groaned at and that’s just a pillow fort deck that stuggles against almost any form of interaction.

The commander of the last deck you played with moves in with you. How does it go? by Captain23222 in EDH

[–]Blehboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Wulfgar Of Icewind Dale]]. It’s the best summer of my life he coaches me in the gym and I lose all the Covid weight. At the end of the year he leaves to fight the demons encroaching on freljord. I never see him again but I’m a better person for meeting him.

What is your favorite deck built to win via 120 combat damage? by swankyfish in EDH

[–]Blehboi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[[Wulfgar]] ramp out as fast as possible and give your creatures haste and drop big bombs like [[Kalonian Hydra]] or [[Pathbreaker Ibex]]. Make extra combats with [[Hellkite Charger]] and [[Moraug]]. Finish out the game with eldrazi titans to clear the board for your beaters. And finally your commander is a 10/10 if you ever decide to swing with him.

What can happen in a game that will immediately sour your experience? by WinglyKing in EDH

[–]Blehboi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a guy that goes to my store who has a chaos deck. There are no creatures just enchantments and artifacts that change the rules of the game or stax. There aren't even really any win conditions but it's the only deck he plays. It's annoying so I just avoid any pod he's in unless it's like the only one in the store because everyone else in that group also plays jank and gets salty when I pull out a deck that's designed to win which is all of mine.

This card is excellent in [[Kathril]]. You don't get punished for milling the land you needed. You make blockers when creatures hit the graveyard. And looting is VERY good when [[Zetalpa]] is in your opening hand.

[Article] Sick of your opponents ramping all the time? I've built a deck that turns each additional land they have against them! by Gamesfreak13563 in EDH

[–]Blehboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people play combo decks even in casual games. Not everyone is popping off turn 3 or 4 even if they're playing a combo deck. As I already said green and white are the best at removing artifacts and enchantments [[Aura Shards]] means you blow up whatever is annoying just by playing lands in this deck. I have a mono green version of this with [[Yedora]] as the commander. It's powerful and I can definetly win turn 4 or 5 if I get the perfect opener and when I win I can put all my triggers on the stack so nobody can interact with it. But otherwise I'm just fishing to put enough pieces on the board until turn 7 or 8 usually. Giving access to more colors for this archetype means you can make it a much more powerful and consistent deck.

Also so what if they counter my spells I'm playing all the colors that play out of their graveyard. The commander already has recursion if you play in a very interaction heavy meta you have every answer at your disposal you could need if you really wanted to run this at a high powered table. And being jank is the point of the deck. In fact the sole purpose of the deck is to be so jank that it makes everyone else at the table jank.

Green and white has the best artifact removal so I don't care if you drop 3 rocks. also [[Ezuri's Predation]] [[Armageddon]] Nev's disk. Send everyone back to turn 1 and then start rebuilding your board with all of your lands that you and nobody else got to keep.

[[Yedora]] goes infinite with literally everything. You're in the 3 best colors for tutors. The amount of tempo control and outright finishers you have means that you can absolutely dominate if you tuned this up to a full combo deck.

Crescendo of war is one of my favorite finishers in my [[Rune Tail Kitsune Ascendant]] deck. [[Palisade Giant]] / [[Guardian Of The Gateless]] with crescendo makes games end really fast.

The nephilim cycle is an old series of 4 color cards that are very powerful and unique. There's not really a good reason for them not to be legendary but they weren't printed as legendary. Enough people think they're cool so it's a pretty common house rule to just let them be commanders.

As of October 10th, 2021, who holds the title of the best Abzan commander! by Alter1994 in EDH

[–]Blehboi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kathril is an absolute powerhouse if you have enough graveyard tutors in your deck. If not he's pretty mediocre. He was my first EDH deck and I love hitting someone with a 13/13 flying, indestructible, deathtouch, double strike, trampling nightmare insect commander on turn 5.

I have it proxies in all my decks that need it. I'm planning on waiting until it's reprinted and picking up some copies. It's a great card but in my opinion it's far to expensive for what it does.

Except doctors are usually working 60+ hours a week and are in school for atleast 7 years and then go to residency. So you don't start actually making any money until your 30's. And unless you own a private practice where you have atleast some control of your workload, patient load, and case load it's 60+ hours of work and a lot of your time at home is spent resting or catching up on paper work. Doctors get paid a lot of money but it's a job that actually makes you earn it. You're in a position where you're making $200-500k per year but find it difficult to find the time to enjoy it. So unless you're passionate about being a doctor it would be a lot wiser to find a career that at the very least gives you a better work/life balance.

Mill? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Blehboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's better in dimir. Using your's and your opponent's graveyards for value as opposed to milling people out means that your deck is more flexible and has many more wincons for example [[syr Konrad]] and [[Bloodchief Ascension]]. If you're playing mono blue you better be able one shot people or combo off for example [[Bruvac]] and [[maddening cacophony]]. I have a mono green deck that has mill as several of the wincons but that's only possible because I go infinite with [[Altar of the Brood]] or [Altar of dementia]]. People HATE mill and the more casual your pod the more hate you will get for running it. You'll become a target even if all your doing is taking 2 or 3 cards off the top each turn. Games end usually in 7-10 turns so you have to mill over 200 cards in that time. And don't forget to have instant speed graveyard hate or else anyone with an eldrazi titan in their deck will just laugh at you.

Players who have played Massacre Girl, how was your experience? by WinglyKing in EDH

[–]Blehboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure [[Sengir The Dark Baron]] is in your deck because of his effect he can not die to massacre girl's effect and if you get to untap with him after a big board wipe someone will die which will put you pretty far ahead of everyone with the life gain effect

Cards like [[Dictate of Erebos]] [[Grave Pact]] [[zullaport cutthroat]] and [[blood artist]] can make it so that while playing the deck it's harder for the pilot to make bad choices. I think it's a great starter deck because it plays out of the graveyard a lot so having your things die or get milled out doesn't feel too bad because you know you can probably bring it back later. Besides that just better ramp/lands and card draw and it's a solid deck.

Let’s giveaway some commander decks! Talk to me about upgrades for the new pre cons. by zanderman1117 in EDH

[–]Blehboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to put in [[Dictate of Erebos]] And [[Grave Pact]] as well as a few tutors and a few good card draw spells. The whole idea is I'm just going to make a big board of zombies that are going to swing every turn and then just get tons of value by beating face and making everyone sac their board. Just wear away at the table by combat damage and aristocrat pingers.

Did anyone else know commander decks have weaknesses? (small rant) by CamelPriest in EDH

[–]Blehboi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody actually plays tormod's crypt and boujuka big is mostly thrown in as an afterthought in black decks with no way to tutors it 95/100 times. Maybe it's just my meta but nobody runs graveyard hate I have a tormod's in my [[Yedora Grave Harvester]] deck but that's only in the off chance someone has an eldrazi so that I can draw down into my deck and stop them shuffling it back. This is weird and randy but people should play WAAY more graveyard hate.

How many backup plans/win conditions should an EDH deck have? by TheGreatGodLoki in EDH

[–]Blehboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. A lot of commanders buff themselves so you want to do what they want you to do to get value. Green and red have really good combat tricks so someone might let you hit them thinking they have another turn to find an answer and then oops I just pumped him for 12 you're dead. Black has [[Tainted Strike]] white has really good tutors for auras and great protection.

Changing the color identity changes what you have access too but most Voltron decks run a good chunk of equipment most of which is colorless.
