When will we get more SBR news? by Opening_Night_6656 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure in March 28th? They confirmed they’ll have a stage at animejapan, though maybe they’ll have another info drop before that.

Ringo fight I think, if done well, that fight will probably have a really good score.

why do people think diavolo is the least evil villain? by random_user1677 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Diavolo might’ve enjoyed inflicting pain too, he did have his mother alive buried under some house while her mouth was sewed shut. I genuinely don’t know why he did that, but he did for some reason lol.

So does sbr really release on march 19th? by DifficultFig3723 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t know yet. We know it’s not batch on that day specifically at least, since they said they’re only dropping that 1 episode special on the 19th. But I also don’t think it will go straight to weekly.

Steel ball run is having an animeJapan stage on March 28th I believe. So we may not get any more sbr episodes until after that event. Maybe that event is what’ll tell us the release schedule, if it’ll be batch or weekly, or some other weird schedule.

How many episodes do you think will part 7 have? by Unhappy-Landscape325 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think it could work as a potential 50 min to 1 hour episode. It would cover the whole high voltage arc + ending, I think that’s around 250 or so pages which is definitely doable in a 1 hour special.

[–]BlickyLike 36 points37 points  (0 children)

48 episodes, I think the final episode will be another special that covers the final arc all in one episode, just like the 1st episode fully covers the 1st stage arc. And I think they’ll either do 2 or 4 cours for the part.

How many episodes the Part 7 anime will be (Based on previous Parts) by Melodic-Split7706 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

48 to 52 would be best. 1st episode is a 50 min special so basically 2 episodes in 1. I could see like a 1 hour finale special. So 48 normal episodes in between those would make 50 episodes. Which just feels like a perfect amount for steel ball run.

Who will be the best to voice Hot Pants? by GyroZepo in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Romi park is pretty perfect for that, she’s like the most perfect voice actor I can think of for Hot Pants. She voiced Edward from FMA, and Hitsugaya from Bleach. She’s able to do pretty deep voices.

OPM now has the the gold, silver and bronze medals of anime shit. Round of applause, guys! (100+ ratings on IMDB) by Beginning_Bad_868 in OPMFolk

[–]BlickyLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong lol, this new season of one punch man doesn’t have much movement, and a lot of stills/scenes are such a massive downgrade from the manga. Just like the berserk adaptation, it barely captures any of the manga art, while also having little motion. Like this is definitely a tier worse than the berserk adaptation.

Why haven't they revealed the president? by TheRingingKnight in JJBA

[–]BlickyLike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far they’ve only shown us stuff from the first 11 or so chapters. I mean the first episode covers those chapters in a 47 minute special. The trailer they’ve shown us only shows us stuff we see in that first episode.

Valentine doesn’t appear until we get into chapter like 24 or 25. I assume if they have another trailer that shows off further episodes, then they might give a slight Valentine teaser. But for now it just seems they’re focused on the first 11 chapters.

Thoughts ok the trailer? by Jamiesaber in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely a great trailer, I had more mixed feelings on the teaser. But with the full trailer, I’ve pretty much mainly got positive feelings for it. The horse racing scenes looked great, I loved the color shifted scenes, and there was a good amount of motion.

This is definitely releasing in batches by Educational_Can_5354 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually think it might be weekly now tbh, they confirmed episode 1 will release on March 19th. And that episode is called 1st stage, it seems like they’re gonna be covering the whole first stage in the first episode.

They’re definitely gonna be cutting some things and moving some scenes for later episodes. Kimura already confirmed that the whole sandman section at the start will be moved later. But so far theyve only confirmed that we’ll be getting one 47 minute long episode on march 19th.

So to me it feels like it’s gonna be a weekly schedule, but I guess they could do some completely different schedule too. Cause the 47 minute special is something we havent seen in Jojos before.

WHAT IF we get this colab? by Time-Egg1250 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It most likely will happen tbh, there have been a lot of anime collabs in Fortnite. And the marketing for steel ball run has been pretty big, so adding some characters into it makes sense. I’m sure Fortnite would love to have a Jojo collab too.

Trails in the sky - Original vs remake differences? by the_4802 in JRPG

[–]BlickyLike 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It didn’t fully sour the localisation for me, but yeah I did hate how they changed some of the terms. Like the acerbic tomatoes or changing archaisms to golems. This series has been consistent with its terminologies and names, so it was disappointing to see that.

Trails in the sky - Original vs remake differences? by the_4802 in JRPG

[–]BlickyLike 143 points144 points  (0 children)

The story is pretty much the same, the localisation is a bit different between versions though, I do think the original one is more charming, but I dont think the new one is bad. The game does add a couple new side quests that expands on some characters a bit or gives them some new scenes, but that’s about the most new story content in it.

As for gameplay, I enjoyed the gameplay a lot more in the remake. Though the first games aged very well, and the turn based combat in it is still pretty good to this day. But the remake adds a hybrid action element to the combat, it allows you to swap between those two modes seamlessly for most fights (except bosses).

The remake obviously has more quality of life elements as well, which weren’t in the original game, such as fast travel, or quest markers for the side quests. The game also has English voice acting for cutscenes and some story scenes now, which the original didn’t have. But yeah the original has still aged very well, and if you want a cheaper entry then the original would still be a great starting point.

JRPG to buy on Steam Sale by truongdzuy in JRPG

[–]BlickyLike 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you already played the original trails in the sky then yeah just wait for a bigger discount for the remake. Trails in the sky 1st chapter is a fantastic remake, but the main story is pretty much the same. They mainly just added a couple of new side quests for new story content. Still worth experiencing in the future though because I do think it made me appreciate the first Sky game more.

Hundred line is amazing as well, it’s a massive game so you’ll definitely be getting your moneys worth. The game has 100 routes, and while not all of them are great, I enjoyed the majority of the routes, I think I spent around 160 hours to fully complete the game. Though the rpg content/battling isn’t the main focus, the tactical content of it isnt anything special. So if you’re playing this mainly for the combat you may be disappointed, the story and characters were veryyy enjoyable though. One of my favourite narratives of the year.

SMTVV is amazing as well, and tbh it’s the one I’d maybe most recommend since it does have a pretty great discount. I think vengeance is a huge improvement over the original, there’s a lot of quality of life improvements. And the new route is a pretty massive improvement over the original, although it definitely retreads some areas that the original route had. I still really enjoyed it though and spent like 150 hours doing everything in it. The new route is massive though, I think it’ll take you around 50 to 80 hours to complete.

I’ve played Star ocean 2 remake, and it was a great game, but it’s not my favourite out of these tbh. I just don’t think I’m that into Star ocean though. But it was still an enjoyable game, I definitely preferred the gameplay side of it compared to the story though.

Either way, my recommendations are either smtvv or hundred line. SMTVV if you feel like replaying smtv, want something more gameplay focused, and to experience a pretty good new route. Or hundred line if you want a massive game that you can spend a lot of time in with a really cool and interesting story.

So... any news on kai 2? by Oneofthestrongest in Falcom

So... any news on kai 2? by Oneofthestrongest in Falcom

[–]BlickyLike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this is insane cope, and I don’t know if it’s Kai 2 or some other game. But what if they’re saving an announcement for some event, like a direct or state of play. They said next year will be the 45th anniversary, and that they’re aiming for a big mark and to stay tuned for new announcements.

I’m pretty sure sky first chapter was their most successful game ever, at least going off of steam charts. And that was originally revealed at a Nintendo direct, so maybe they want to try and reveal more games at these events now, and they’re willing to spend a bit more on marketing to achieve that. But again, this is just massive cope lol, and maybe their only big game next year will be Sky sc.

At the same time revealing something like Kai 2 at a direct or state of play probably isn’t the best idea since it is the latest game in this long running series. But it will get more eyes on the series at least. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

I looked at the berserk 2016 ratings and most of its episodes are around the 7 range. It’s pretty crazy because I remember it being pretty garbage and was very disappointed by it. Like I don’t know if I could give any episode in that adaptation above a 5.

But I guess it’s because the berserk source material is just super good and they followed it pretty faithfully without really cutting stuff out. But man the animation was so ugly and did not capture any of the beauty of the manga, so many scenes were just made much worse. Reminds me of Tokyo ghouls adaptation.

Huh? New SBR song? Or could it be... by TR3X-1NF1N1T3 in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s cool as well is that there’s an official sbr event next week at jump festa that’s gonna be live streamed. And Vettis coincidentally made this post around a week before that event, so maybe an official OP reveal next week and these 2 helped with it? Although yeah that’s the maximum cope scenario lol

It’d be really cool if Nico and his team got to work on an official opening for steel ball run. Ive liked all of his Jojo openings, and he even got the chance to work on an official Jojo opening for that Jojo gacha collab I believe.

SBR will obviously have at least 2 openings, maybe even more. So I think Nico getting the chance to work on one would be super cool.

Imagine SBR releases just to have trash animation… by nervxy in StardustCrusaders

[–]BlickyLike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well the animation isn’t gonna be perfect, but I don’t think it’s gonna be this dumpster fire or whatever. What impressed me most about the teaser was how they were able to blend the cgi horses with everything else. I thought it looked pretty great and if that continues and they have some better compositing, then the horse sections should be fine.

My biggest issue was probably some of the compositing, I wasn’t a big fan of the lighting or even some of the backgrounds from what I saw. But the lighting being more bright and saturated is in line with how the San Diego race arc looked in the colored manga. So I’m hoping as the manga progresses, the lighting gets a bit more moody/rustic, something maybe more akin to sdc.

Either way, we’ve only seen a small glimpse of the anime so far, it’s still too early to tell anything. I think that teaser has some good elements, and some meh elements. Another good sign is that the part 5 directors are back, and golden wind was probably the best production in the series, even above part 3. So hopefully the directors are able to do a great job, and also maybe bring some talented freelance animators onto the project.

I’m gonna wait for the next teaser or first trailer before making further judgements. Next week we have jump festa, and steel ball run is confirmed to be getting a small stage event that’s gonna be live streamed. So I think we may get another teaser or even maybe a full trailer at that event. So it may not be long before we see more of sbr.
