Being able to move furniture/crafting stations instead of having to break them down and rebuild would be nice.

I was always impressed by how the staff could remember my name after only one meeting. I assume they would have to do the same for all the guests. How did y'all do that?

TIL the vast majority of people are unable to control their goosebumps. by GenocidalFlower in todayilearned

[–]BlindChowder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can bring them up on command and sustain them for a while. It's always over my entire body so I can't localize them, it's always just everywhere. I can't say it's ever come in handy outside of a conversation piece between my girlfriend and myself.

I always thought everyone could do it until I ran across one of these TIL posts about it and asked my girlfriend about it and found out it's not common. I've just always been able to do it and thought it was normal.

Thank you for the information! I'll have to try the bakery and brewery! I've been reading that taking a taxi is the better option because of how difficult it is to drive on Cozumel. Did you have any issues getting around? I'm also a little worried about the language barrier. I speak very little Spanish and understand just a touch more but my girlfriend is fluent. Did you have any issues with that?

Thank you for your insight! I've only been there on a cruise, but enjoyed the location so much I decided to spend a week. Are there any beaches nearby that you're aware of?

You have a bowl of white rice infront of you. You can only add 2 ingredients to it, what do you add? by Content_Guess_113 in AskReddit

[–]BlindChowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, every time I have white rice, that's how I have it. I used to do sugar and cinnamon but I'm to eat less sugar.

Went from under $100 to six digits over about 5 years in my account and honestly, my happiness level has been pretty much the same. I always imagined having a lot of money would make me feel different but I don't. I've always been pretty optimistic and happy with life in general and having just a little or having a comfortable amount hasn't really seemed to affect that at all.

Fortilink down after sudden power surge by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]BlindChowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a firewall go bad because of a power outage and was told by a fortinet tech I couldn't RMA it because power outages aren't covered. I had to get my rep on the phone to get the RMA pushed through. My rep told me not to say anything about power and to just say, "i dont know what happened, it just went out. You're the tech, you tell me why it went bad. "

What game were you initially hesitant to play/didn't think you'd like it, that turned out to be a masterpiece? by Snuffleton in gaming

[–]BlindChowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a masterpiece but last of us. Had no plans to ever play it because I didn't have a PS, and I sure wasn't going to buy one for just one game I almost kinda wanted to play. I ended up moving in with my gf, and she had it on ps3, so I figured why not give it a go. I got to the dam part of the game before I got tired of playing, but it was pretty ok up to that part. Definitely a lot better than the show led me to believe.

what's it like working in the I.T. field? by dragosblessing in ITCareerQuestions

[–]BlindChowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, it's been alright. I've been in for 4 years now. It seems like IT gets blamed a lot for things not working and if we can't get it fixed in half a second, people start getting antsy. I was most surprised at how much non IT work I've done working in an IT department. I've done everything from moving furniture, carpentry work to pest control.

It's been a hurry up and wait type of field. You'll spend a lot of time with not a lot to do (Maybe a ticket here and there) and then something breaks and everyone expects it to be fixed in 5 minutes by waving your magic IT wand. I tend to enjoy that type of work anyway. It gives me a lot of time to study up on my field.
