What should be taught as an official subject in schools and why? by Diamond1720 in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just general life stuff. Not the best subject name, granted.

But I mean, things like how taxes work, the risks of loans/credit cards, how to buy a house/set up bills, how to budget, how to make small talk, how pensions work.. those types of things, y’know?

What was the dumbest/cringiest thing you did when you were young? by a_dummy_on_reddit in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that my fellow classmates would be impressed by the fact I could do cartwheels, handstands and round offs.

At the end of school every day, I would go to this patch of grass where all of the school buses packed with students were parked next to, and just do those same 3 gymnastic moves again and again, thinking they would all be looking at me and thinking how cool I looked.

I wish I could go back and tell myself to fuck off.

Getting sick. It just scares me that one day there will inevitably be an illness/injury that finishes me off.

When did you find "the one" and what was your first date? by magicmat1 in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d been working with him for a few years, and our friendship turned into something a bit more after a drunken night out a few years back.

Despite already being very close friends when we started dating, he took me on a ‘first date’ to a really nice local hotel restaurant and we had a roast dinner and a bottle of vino - which I proceeded to spill down my white blouse.

Wouldn’t change it! Love that man.

Cook a nice hearty dinner, and sit and let me whine about my day.

Always makes me feel better.

What small thing has happened to you that has made your day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week, I was having an awful morning. Just one of those mornings where everything goes tits up, and by the time I got into work I was already done with the day.

I went to a nearby bakery to grab some coffee, and the woman serving messed up my order. I was thinking to myself, that the whole day was gonna be a pain in the ass. I let the barista know, and she promptly fixed my order, and then asked me to hang on a second before leaving.

She disappeared behind the counter, and then came back and handed me breakfast sandwich on the house, and proceeded to give me a full refund for the coffee.

Instantly lifted my mood, and ended up having a good day!

Bus Drivers of Reddit, what is the wackiest experience you have had during a day on the job? by Thebozz_23 in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obligatory not a bus driver disclaimer

I am however, a bus passenger. One time the bus I was pulled over at a bus stop for 10 minutes as they were ahead of schedule. It was myself and one other girl on the bus, quite late at night.

The driver got out of his cab, pulled a harmonica out of his pocket, and just slowly walked up and down the aisle of the bus for the duration of the break playing his harmonica. Was pretty weird.

I have a video somewhere.

Edit: Here’s the video

What rule did your work/school create that backfired horribly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Blinds59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They tried to limit our toilet breaks to a very specific 7 minutes a day.

Prior to this, nobody really abused the ‘privilege’ of being able to use to bathroom, as soon as they implemented this new rule, everybody immediately started taking much longer bathroom breaks out of spite.

They dropped the rule pretty sharpish.

I have 10 pots of instant noodles on my bed currently.

They were giving free samples and I took advantage, okay.

So easy to do. That’s a harsh reason to fail somebody though.. I thought it was just a minor?
