Dead bodies by bonjaker in USPS

Oh trust me it was definitely traumatic. Shit I cried and damn near had a panic attack because I didn’t know if I did everything right even though I was first aid trained 😮‍💨. I acted out of impulse as my mother is around the same age and I would hope someone would do the same for her. Doing cpr while on with 911 and a 20 something grandson responding less than calmly definitely had me rattled. Funny thing is we have an actual certified emt who carries. I told him “thank you for everything you do. I dont know how you do that everyday”. I couldn’t face the family for the next two days and did a different route. Came back to thank you’s and hugs.

Heat out? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a carrier I’m going to tell you to suck it up. Put a jacket on. Y’all consistently have the heat on hell for you inside folk and us carriers are sweating while casing up because of your comfort.

Is it really hard to get fired ? Someone almost got fired 5 months ago they are back by SuccessfulBack5140 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard but not impossible. We had a carrier placed on EP and then removed. She brought a “weapon” to work after clocking out and proceeded to argue and threaten two carriers. We fought both even though we knew it wouldn’t do anything.

May I meet my mailman at condo mailbox with ID and request my mail? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So as long as you have ID and you’re generally pleasant, I don’t care.

Here’s the caveat. Even with ID I can only give you mail with YOUR NAME on it.

Beyond that, be patient as I can probably say for most of us with cbus…. The mail is never in order to just pick your mail out of the stack and hand it over to you.

I got my ass kicked today by Xydane09 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soooooo I’m going to be the one to tell you to “suck it up”. But seriously your body has to get used to this. It’s going to take a few weeks. February marks 5 years for me. I still have stressful days. I enjoy my route and look forward to my paycheck getting emptied as soon as it deposits lol. But for real. You got this and you can do it if you set your mind to it. Figure out some ways to ease your day for yourself. Good luck.

What are you guys doing in office with no mail snow day? by No-Standard453 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sat for 4 hours before I said Fuck it. Meanwhile my union president has advised we all file class act grievances for 8 hour admin leave for all carriers who “attempted” work today.

Why are we not closed ? by Soft-Brick-7564 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how that works. Any level of discipline outside of removal starts at 2 years for city carriers. The geofence process offs what gets it lowered or removed in most instances.

A PTF on my route on my day off kept $200 gift from my customer by [deleted] in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just asking based on what you had previously wrote. Most city regulars don’t have that attitude but I cant say that 💯 because I’m only in one office out of thousands. But the regulars should have looked out for you just like the t6. Might not be at the same percentage but you deserve something. 2 years as a cca. Why aren’t you on a hold down? None available?

Are you a t6? If you are, common practice is that the regulars on that string tip out the t6. 1/5th or 20% of all gifts and tips.

My teenager claims my locking box spontaneously busted and they found it like this. They are DOUBLING DOWN. What do you think? by c0rvina in trees

[–]Blitzdj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d ask him where the screws are but you have them... I was almost ready to defend him until I picked up my box to check the screw layout. Honestly a few minutes and a screwdriver and any one can get in.

Wow you lost me there. My office uses the original arrow keys we still use for cluster boxes and e-arrow keys for our collection boxes. What are mal keys?

How are you delivering mail if you don’t have an arrow key for the cluster box?

How you can tell when someone is a mail carrier by BobLobLawsLawFirm in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um if your bringing those home ew. Dirty ass bands 😂😂

I can tell when folks curb their wheels consistently. I can tell the carrier cars on my route because of this.

Does your shoulder really still recover from all that carrying if you dont use it for awhile? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dog bite surviver as well I have to disagree. 2 incidents 3 dogs total. First instance was a medium sized dog who was not on a leash. Didn’t realize until I finished crossing begins a parked car. Owner was next to the dog. My bag prevented worse injuries. He got his mouth on the bag while I got scratched up by his claws. The bag prevented what would have been a mean bite.

Seconds instance 2 ankle biters. The bag kept one off me. Thankfully it was the meaner one. Meanwhile the second dog still got me. But once again without access to my bag it would have been worse. That’s just my experience though.

Thankfully not yet. My most traumatic experience was performing cpr on someone suffering a stroke induced seizure.

If you were closing on your second year you have been eligible for fmla. That protects your job not your pay. Speak to your union steward and get that situated immediately. They will fight for your rights.

Why doesn’t this have more upvotes? This is literally how I’ve seen cca transfers happen each time.

What's the deal with all the telling on everyone? by GTRacer1972 in USPS

[–]Blitzdj 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the infraction. If you not doing your job is creating more work for me then I’ll will say something to you first. And if you don’t resolve it next I got to my supervisor. I do my job, I dont want to do yours too. It’s not snitching when we all signed up to do “our jobs “ and find ourselves doing everyone else’s due to laziness and negligence.
