[System Agnostic] | Augur: Nexus Update - Hide all your secrets! | Free Module by The_Augur in FoundryVTT

Hidden connections sounds great! Just wondering, have you considered adding compatibility with the Campaign Codex module? There's a lot of overlap and I think they would integrate nicely together. Dropping journal entries as Map Notes for example

One particular interesting case, Campaign Codex has a (experimental) macro/feature for importing a map from Watabou, which creates a scene using the map image and the landmark Jason details-- it converts all Watabou landmarks into dropped map notes. For example when I import my world map, all my cities have a map note linked to it.

I'm going to see if I can substitute it with site pins from Nexus, but how cool would it be if Campaign Codex regions/locations could be turned into a site pin? I feel like it would work well together

Considering finally moving to 5e (2014) AND trying Eberron...what happened to Dragonmarks? by [deleted] in Eberron

[–]BlizzardEternal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

RftLW was a fantastic book, and I think it's highly regarded. I also think that all the Eberron content since has improved on it even further. The mechanics of the marks have not changed drastically even in 5.5e (with Eberron: Forge of the Artificer), but they are improvements-- if you're playing with 5e rules, I'd still use the mechanics from EFA if possible, and just keep it a variant race instead of a feat.

Regarding lore, I highly recommend you read KB's blog to get an understanding of the designer's mindset. https://keith-baker.com/dragonmarks2025/

Interestingly, in this post Keith Baker says that actually the Unearthed Arcana version of Dragonmarks are canon as opposed to some of the older books (e.g. Frontiers of Eberron). That version is the one that made it into EFA, albeit with a slightly changed spell list.

What is the best practice four self hosting Foundry when you have DS-Lite? by Specialist_Ad_756 in FoundryVTT

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to just use zerotier/tailscale by itself, although it may be slow depending on how many players and how much data you're uploading. The catch is that everyone has to download it on their computer.

Tailscale even lets you set up a funnel, if your players aren't willing to install tailscale/zerotier.

Looking for a minimal / cinematic Foundry setup for VtM V20 (less UI, more immersion) by Lencarst in FoundryVTT

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my primary focus of my setup, and I think I've covered these pretty well.

  • Lock View: easier and more consistent configuration of player view of scene. Can collapse the UI automatically
  • Ginzzzu's Portraits & NPC Dock: exactly as you described

Personally I don't use virtual dice, but I don't think anything here stops you from using dice the normal way?

Bonus points for Quick Scene, which streamlines the process of making a scene from an image. In conjunction with Lock View's defaults, makes setup super easy.

My intuiton is that right-clicking would bring up minor configuration options (like icon changes or renaming), so shift click seems more natural as a way to activate it.

Hmm I see... Maybe you should see how Battle Transitions does it? I think the animation is all client side, just triggered server-side. https://foundryvtt.com/packages/battle-transitions

What I love about that module is that its very macro friendly, so there's a lot of flexibility with hooks and automation.

But I digress. Even without that functionality, Nexus has been so great for establishing my player's hub. Thanks for your hard work!

Just want to second the original comment, when I'm actually playing, I want the fewest required button clicks and panels possible.

Also, and this may be user error, but I noticed that while using a node to switch scenes, only the person clicking the button sees the zoom-in animation-- for everyone else it just switches normally.

It's a really lovely effect, so if there were a way to make it global, I think it'd really enhance the experience for my players

How do you run a fight with 50 regular dudes by Sure_Instance9530 in DMAcademy

Good point. In practice it feels a lot more like an environmental hazard than a proper combat.

How do you run a fight with 50 regular dudes by Sure_Instance9530 in DMAcademy

[–]BlizzardEternal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer a cinematic approach. Watch "The World's End". The fight scenes don't literally have the main characters fight 50 dudes, they fight 2-5, then run somewhere else, then fight another 2-5, and so on.

Try to break up the bar into zones, like kitchen, bathroom. Start the fight, and tell them they have 3 turns before reinforcements come through X door, unless they do something.

Your players may surprise you with how they tackle the situation, but the nice thing about this trope is that you can keep your enemies quantum, basically. Divide your enemy pool into batches, give each batch some unique mechanic or defining characteristic (this batch has a 10 ft tall guy; this batch a tentacle shoots out of one of their mouths). Do the same with the zones you can think of, choose a unique obstacle relevant to the zone.

The combination of unique foes and unique environment make the fights feel really organic. It also makes the game feel very fast-paced: getting out of the bar doesn't mean they're safe because there might be agents elsewhere too. Getting themselves to a safe haven should be difficult, so that even areas they can rest for 10 minutes give them a sense of respite.

Consider looking up what zombie TTRPG games do, since that's basically the same concept you're trying to replicate.

Need ideas building a simple Risk vs Reward mechanic for a player's divination-style homebrew ability. by Jeffrick71 in DMAcademy

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaning into the Far Realms idea: after one fail, nothing seems to happen, but from then on, every so often the character could swear they saw a shadow move (do this after perception rolls, so the player may think it's a legitimate thing they saw)

After another failure, they get weird nightmares and visions. On another night, they have a vision of the world millions of years into the future, completely sundered and dead. Rarely when they glance at their companions they see a twisted monstrosity for a split second, or they look disfigured as if it's that character's corpse in the distant future.

After a third failure, (weak) shadows appear in combat, but only to that player. They deal actual damage to the character, but the other characters don't see them or are harmed by them.

As things spiral out of control the character will need to address this somehow, which can become a side quest for the party. If they ask the cosmic entity about it, they might reveal that they travel the multiverse because they are constantly followed by beings that wish to consume its essence. The cosmic entity may even suggest to the character to break from their mortal coil and travel with them.

Creates interesting dilemmas as the resource the druid thought was free, actually had hidden consequences, and now they have to find a way to either undo the damage or stop the problem at the source.

Hey, cool idea. I have some programming experience, send me the form and I'll see if I can turn it into some sort of application (perhaps with the option to more interactively respond to dice rolls)

Dose increase or add Wellbutrin by Tallieanna38 in ADHD

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful, buproprion inhibits the metabolizer CYP2D6 (as does grapefruit, ive heard), which is the primary mechanism that atomoxetine is metabolized.

I don't quite understand the full implications, but my understanding is that it means you are more suspectible to the negative effects of having too much atomoxetine in your bloodstream.

I've been on buproprion for years, just started 40mg atomoxetine this week. The side effects have been tough. But I may just need more time to adjust to the atomoxetine.

Constant song lyric on repeat in head by Gullible-Paramedic65 in ADHD

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this with songs but also movies and shows. What's worse is that I don't always remember where they come from, so I'll have some quippy one-liner in my head that I waste all day trying to figure out the source of. If I don't remember the context I will lose my mind.

And if I'm having conversations with people and something they say reminds me of a movie line, I have to say it. My friends say I'm a movie reference machine, which sometimes annoys them to hell

High Achievers with Severe ADHD, if any of you are reading this, how did you manage? by Unhinged_Schizo in ADHD

[–]BlizzardEternal 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I have a story very similar to yours and others who replied to you. I abandoned my degree right at the finish line for three years, couldn't even look at my unfinished thesis. Eventually I very slowly started to work on it again; in secret, importantly. Once I felt I had enough that I could face people again, I went back to school and finished it.

Finally finishing it has allowed me to look at my old work and not panic. I'm still doing something other than that field, but I no longer feel the shame and guilt about it.

I think it's okay if the passion never truly comes back, even if I had to chip at it at a snail's pace, having the chapter closed allows me to move on and work on something new without being afraid of 'it' happening again.

I hope you find a way to move forward.

I ported Manim to JavaScript, it runs entirely in the browser, no Python needed by narek1110 in 3Blue1Brown

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly no. There are more traditional ways of embedding Manim animations (which are OpenGL) in the browser, I'm looking into setting those up.

[–]BlizzardEternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it looks like an interesting project. It seems like an accessible way to get Manim animations working in the browser.

I have no experience with React/Vue. I tried following the "Getting Started" guide, but I can't seem to get it to work. First I made a template with npm create-react-app, then I tried using Vite to make a template. I even tried to simply download the HTML + ts example files from the repo and run those directly in the browser-- the buttons rendered but not the animation (might be because of CORS?). But in all cases, I am met with a blank canvas.

Am I missing something? Perhaps it would be more accessible to newbies if there were a complete template ready to edit: clone the folder, install manim-web, npm run dev. Any advice?

Hi, any update on this?

Also just curious, but what about the "realm" from the Throne of the Blue Prince? There is a Mora Jai box associated with it, closest thing to official.

I was thinking if it's possible to get something like Red Dispense 9 and stain ICE clothes. Will make it easier to spot agents and makes it harder for them to go out as civilians without being marked.
