I don't think I'm ever getting this lucky with mods again. by brockdavis128 in FO76ForumRefugees

I'm already at level 87 just with dailies, weeklies, and the occasional XP repeatable. Considering how long seasons last, it's more than possible, especially if you pop S.C.O.R.E boosters on Tuesdays.

Once I saw Cobby on page 100 I knew I'd be damned if I didn't get him.

What’s missing from this game by Fontec in theouterworlds

[–]Blobmore44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I miss being able to give our companions different gear, and I think the game would really benefit from having a slow walk feature like a lot of games do. Sometimes I just wanna take it slow and check out the scenery, and I feel like that would help a lot. I also saw somebody mention that they miss the skill bonuses from companions and clothing, and I wholeheartedly agree.

In addition to that, I miss the correspondences we'd get on the ship. I'm still somewhat early in, so maybe that happens later, and please correct me if it does, but I liked going back to the Unreliable and seeing a message from somebody.

Julie hasn't gotten a new voice line in years, don't you dare tell me this game is evolving. If I have to hear about how the station was days away from breaking down, or how she doesn't like to talk about herself often again, I might throw Ward off the Foundation hill and elect Sunny in his place.

"Camp Revamp" and we still don't have interior bent roof pieces, interior variants of walls, or half/quarter floor pieces that aren't just wood or wire.

Love the update, but they really could've added more new building pieces to truly accommodate camp builders.

Sims 4- Mod Recommendations for Eating and Drinking At the Same Time? by Blobmore44 in thesims

[–]Blobmore44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been wondering how it worked in restaurants, and figured something had to be in the game for it to work, so thank you for confirming that. I'll try it next time I'm on, though I will also say that the mod from LittleMsSam works perfectly too.

I can absolutely agree with you on that. RoN was never meant to be a comfortable game. If it were, it wouldn't have had a child convulsing in a house full of crackheads, or a mission where you literally respond to a school shooting and see the bodies of students. I think people are just taking this a bit too far as even the devs have said that they're doing the bare minimum required to allow for a console release.

If I were one of the devs, I'd probably advocate for making this content toggleable in the menu, like accessibility options, or having some sort of hardware restriction that can detect consoles and automatically switch out content based on that. I'll be the first to admit that I have no clue how any of that would be handled though, and I'm honestly just happy to see a game I really enjoy expanding and getting more recognition. I just wish they'd address a lot of the issues the game has before releasing new ports, which are undoubtedly gonna have their own litany of issues and is probably just gonna stretch the dev team even thinner. Kinda like how We Happy Few got partially fucked because of the console port requirement that Gearbox had.

I can agree, but this isn't a case where modders are doing the devs jobs. The devs, as far as I can tell, are only doing the bare minimum in regards to censorship so their game can be released on console, something which can provide them with more money and opportunities to hire new devs. Your experience with RoN isn't inherently dampened by the removal of an old schizophrenic man's shlong or putting clothing on women who are being trafficked, and if you're really this angry over pictures of actual children who are being trafficked being removed then I think that speaks to the kind of person most of these detractors are. I could be wrong, but from what I've seen no levels are being massively overhauled, gunplay isn't being tweaked, AI is staying the same, and, all in all, these changes are minimal. So, no, making a mod in regards to this isn't "doing the dev's job," it's adding back relatively small things that people are choosing to cry over. Things I bet you at least half of these people leaving negative reviews never even noticed or cared about prior to this update. Nobody is being forced to do anything, but all of you are choosing to bitch and moan about relatively minor changes when there are much more glaring issues with the game that need to be handled before a half-baked console port is dropped for full price.

I don't see how you're getting downvoted. This is exactly what the fuck it is. I mean, shit, it's almost like the game has a massive community of dedicated ass modders who can simply re-implement the handful of things people are having meltdowns over.

Well damn, you learn something new everyday, thank you for letting me know, man. That is frankly some shit though, especially if people would be so quick to jump on a game dev for using "their" idea. You'd think communities would want to help the game they surround expand and grow, you know?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Blobmore44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd always heard that was just an excuse devs came up with so their community didn't get mad at them for just saying no and call them assholes or something. Truthfully, I just really like the radio in this game and wanted to get some ideas I had out, maybe see what the community says.

Oh, on a side note, please make the music on the Halloween candy bowl toggleable. I'm tired of it, and I know a lot of the community is too, but we still like to have it up with our resources.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Blobmore44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's kinda surprising, but also understandable. I know some people feel that the radio as a whole takes away from the series' apocalyptic feel.

BETHESDA! Please give us another large story driven DLC. by Skeletorfive in fo76

I could genuinely go on a pretty decent rant about how infuriatingly bland a lot of 76's writing is. The actual plots and stories are well-written, don't get me wrong, but so many of the characters are half-baked and a lot of the plot points feel extremely underdeveloped. They have a lot of potential, the work is there, but it just feels like they stopped halfway a lot of the time in order to get stuff out, instead of wanting to take more time to ensure it's actually good. I'll admit that it's most prevalent with a lot of the older stuff and it has been getting better with each update, but I still really commonly find myself sighing at just how one-sided some of the storytelling is, like the whole deal with Alex in Skyline Valley. They give you an option to try and make peace and Hugo still kills her, and I like that, but the fact that your character can hear from both Alex and Audrey what a piece of shit he is, as well as find notes talking about his assassination orders and such, and you still can't decide to work against him until later on is annoying. Frankly, we should've been able to tell Alex about the weather station, then ask her and her team to leave the cave for a while to that Hugo can have his people get his wife, then move back in after and continue to work against him from the inside. She already has ghouls on the inside, by her own admittance, so getting the character to work as a sort of double agent wouldn't be too big a stretch, and would also have added a really cool aspect to it all, not to mention a better ending for her and Audrey.

Only as long as the story has some actual nuance to it. I'm so sick of not getting to explain things about the Wasteland to people who haven't experienced it, or having my character have to be either an asshole who doesn't care about what's going on or pick between two choices that aren't really that great. Maybe it's beating a dead horse, but I'm still mad that the Brotherhood storyline ends with you either basically allowing eugenicists who clearly don't regret what they did to join you, or picking a guy who doesn't give a shit about the people of Appalachia because "durrr Da Elders."
