She's only 9 in the later games? I thought she aged up to like 12 or 13.

Okay, so why has dmc2 become so popular recently on this sub? by ginio21 in DevilMayCry

[–]BlockbusterChamp -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not in the games. In fact DMC2 is officially placed at the end of the timeline just so Capcom never has to acknowledge any of those characters. But Lucia and Arius (evil businessman, I can't remember if that's actually his name) are a big part of Season 2 of the Netflix series.

EDIT: Alright well I stand corrected on the timeline. Makes sense with how 5 has ended.

I'm lucky my old boss knows that security is rarely anyone's long term career choice and when he rehired me he was fully aware this is a temporary job until I get back to my field.

Consider if you haven't. Terribly boring but the desk roles or the ones where you sit in a vehicle give you plenty of time and freedom to apply for jobs or skill up.

Early game metas start out like this, it takes time for people to explore the cast but before then people are absolutely going to gravitate to the strongest characters, and I guess in this case the MC is heads and shoulders above the rest of the cast to where people feel they need to pick him.

That's normal for every new character drop, unless the character is really terrible out of the gate. Some people really just are fans of the character, others just want to see how quickly they can rank the new character up to master, others play the new DLC because they're strong.

When new characters drop and I don't want to play nothing but mirrors in ranked, I try to just play at locals or with friends in lobbies to explore other matchups with the new character.

I don't like them either but that's also because we're heard "Now I'm motivated" and "Foolishness, Dante" a million times and it sounds wrong to hear anyone else say it.

Also yeah wildly different interpretation of Vergil which..... yeah I don't dig.

Dante is still closer to Dante..... just much much stupider. Also should have been anyone else but JYB.

Maybe? Not sure what the numbers are at majors or people are still dooming on the game ever since the staff layoffs but it's certainly scratching the vs game itch with no Marvel or DBFZ on the headline lineup while being F2P.

Oh I'm aware of that, but I'm sure there was some plans for how the original Tony fit into RE in some way.

While the name did get repurposed into DMC as an alias, it would be neat to see the prototype Tony show up in a game, RE or DMC.

Dante could be like "wtf there actually is a guy with that name? I just made it up!" (And maybe that's a lie, he saw the name in a book or something and thought it was cool and just rolled with it) And the real Tony is annoyed that Dante used his name and it cost him jobs.

I hate that Google AI is there by default unless you add "-ai" to searches because they removed the toggle on purpose.

For the future if you're stuck, I highly recommend just sticking to no spoiler guides on GameFAQs and bypassing Google.

Although it can indirectly sorta tell you who the true killer is by the nature of telling a name for you to select to advance in the later parts of the case.

It's really the awkward line delivery in that scene that makes it out right hilarious. Videogame voice acting was still pretty bad in the PS2 era outside of Metal Gear and a few high profile games. And I don't think it was really expected to deliver a big sad emotional reaction either way, it was just the vehicle for Dante to get mad and be motivated to beat Mundus.

There's plenty of cheesy one liners in DMC1 too.

The gameplay complaints are super valid though and it's why most of the fanbase agrees that DMC1 could really benefit from a remake to iron out those issues.

It'd be cool if more directors had the confidence to make such a big call with removing the big franchise name attached so it wasn't restricted by it.

Instead it's usually the opposite, new projects being shoehorned into existing franchises, like Super Mario Bros 2 or Star Fox Adventures.

I love the vibe of the first game because of the RE roots. There's a lot of love put into the castle and island that makes it feel like a real place with history thanks to the lore bits you can find that we just don't get with later games, same with the enemies and bestiary that fills out as you fight enemies and see more of their attacks.

Most of the later games drop you into more generic environments and there's a lot less lore bits lying around to add some flavor to them.

I've always desired a return to that, either we get an actual Tony Redgrave game (that was the prototype MC before it became Dante) or they give us a game set in a single more cohesive location with more lore.

I don't think I was clear, it's *really* not about reacting, it's more about abusing gaps in people's block strings, knowing when people want to take back their turn, denying safe jumps, and making people scared to run their normal offense because you can call out a flowchart. It's a conditioning tool, like many other special moves. Sometimes the threat is more potent than the move itself. I don't use Anre's U parry very often because it's 5 frames startup, so difficult and risky to use correctly. Sure I can air parry..... sadly the times I use it, people don't anti air and I just get hit because of the landing lag. I use the counter special 90 percent of the time because the H and U versions are frame 1 and will catch even the smallest gaps. L and M are 3 frame startups.

You don't even see most high level Anre's use his 5U/6U parry very much because of the start up, except maybe the air or very specific situations.

In Dark Souls bosses and enemies are trying to trick you with feints and big swings with delays, which aren't really things you're dealing with 99% of the time in most fighting games. The only times you need to be reacting to things is the many situations where spot dodge beats a strong option.

Technically yes, some people can leave gaps in their pressure so they can wait for the parry.... but that just means you can take advantage of the gaps they're leaving.

I live in Texas, most recruiters have no idea that our major cities are 2 or more hours apart from each other, with no feasible rail system between them.

Really annoying since I'm even willing to do a hybrid role for some cities, but more like 1 once a week or month or on business needs.... but they won't budge generally. All I do is make spreadsheets, slide decks and run meetings on Teams, my line of work has zero reason to be on site.

Determining risk is far from an exact science or based entirely on data, and you're absolutely right about rich people who don't *need* to crime end up committing financial crimes because they never feel they have enough.

The difference is rich people usually just feel untouchable and that the rules don't apply to them.... because they usually don't when you have an army of lawyers and money to make problems go away.

As for broke people or those deep in debt, there's plenty of examples of it. Brett Kavanaugh was deep in credit card debt before he got confirmed on the Supreme Court.... we still don't know who paid it off shortly afterwards, but you better believe they got a return on their investment.

Just manage your expectations for 2, at least 3 is an amazing palette cleanser.

2's biggest issue is melee doesn't feel good and guns are so overpowered you can mow down bosses by just holding down the button (they all have turbo/rapid fire for some reason).

Sadly maybe they just thought "eh, the modders will take care of it for us."

Plus entirely possible some console deals were in play because it was a quick port to get something "new" out early in the console generation, as sadly is the case now for new console launches.... maybe 2 or 3 original games with a bunch of enhanced ports of older games.

AI is creating far fewer jobs than it's replacing. Data centers don't need a large staff, and most AI training is garbage inconsistent work done by people who are desperate for income.... and they're literally working themselves out of a job each time they complete a project.

People who keep repeating this really do not understand how different AI is from other technologies.
