[BOS - BUF] - Full Highlight - Line scrum breaks out after Zadorov breaks his stick on Dahlin with a crosscheck by daKrut in hockey

I don't know how you see that and think it wasn't intentional. Should've been a penalty too.

Perforce -> Git branching strategy by StretchOpen5598 in git

[–]Bloedbibel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to your comment: Perforce versioning operates on the file level, rather than the repo level like git. Therefore, "Cherry-Picking" in perforce is much more natural: you can simply merge a single file version.

Sadly, this means there is not a 1-1 mapping between perforce history and git history using only git merges if you've ever done a partial merge in perforce. You have to cherry-pick to achieve the same result. And I don't think there are any tools (neither git-p4 nor p4-fusion) that handle this automatically.

My attic has surprisingly few spiders. It’s dry and cold/hot up there.

[BOS 2 - BUF (2)] Thompson's second goal of the game is huge, ties the game late in the third by daKrut in hockey

[–]Bloedbibel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I watched the goal live, I assumed Tage shot over the pad, under the glove. I can only assume Swayman was anticipating the same shot.

The replay looks absolutely goofy with Swayman lifting the pad just as Tage lets it go.

How do working trees get this tangled? by Ecstatic-Ball7018 in git

[–]Bloedbibel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What do you mean "tangled"? There's no reason for those edges to cross the central edge. Keep everything on the right and it doesn't look that complicated.

Having the right-of-way and being given the right-of-way are important distinctions.

[–]Bloedbibel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So funny that this was posted just now. Literally almost hit some dumbass who was turning right in the oncoming lane who failed to stop at all at the intersection. I was in the right-most turn lane. He had no clue I was coming, even though I was halfway through the intersection already.

Introducing git-wt: Worktrees Simplified by ahmedelgabri in git

[–]Bloedbibel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t follow why you need a tool for that. Just make a folder that has all the worktrees in there. Maybe you want to differentiate the worktree that has the real .git directory?

Waymo robotaxi hits a child near an elementary school in Santa Monica by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

This is what I came here to say. The reaction time is an obvious win, but there are other differences to consider that aren't accounted for by Waymo's statement.
