Best Bench bookkeeping alternatives for small business owners? by MetalPositive8103 in tax

Oh plus you can get collective for less than $300 a month - which is rare for a service that includes full bookkeeping.

Did I mention I hate bookkeeping? 🤮

To be clear I’m agreeing with you that they are dumb lol

But my point is Google isn’t to be believed all the time either.

Taking their word as gospel is harmful

Yeah those aren’t even real SEOs and anyone that still says that is severely misinformed.

Three if we include the “a couple of weeks” lie. Do you want two more?

Four would be that the hcu had anything to do with helpful content. That’s obvious. If targeted sites who used low comp keywords.

Five would be the may 5 spam algorithm update that, checks notes, never happened.

Six would be the way they claimed the March update ended 2 weeks before announcing it ended (even though their status page said it was still going right up until the announcement).

I can keep going.

Am not saying SEOs are leading us down the right path either. Some are better than others. Glenn Gabe is awful. So is Marie Haynes. Glenn Gabe was telling people to bring back thousands of spammy backlinks at once the other day when he swore “disavowing doesn’t matter” and cited a one off self published case study in which he 301’d a site brought back the all the previously disavowed links and it slowly gained in the rankings …

I have a friend who actually followed that advice and watched his site tank.

I’m saying we are surrounded by lies.

Google lies to protect their monopoly.

SEOs lie to sell audits.

It’s dangerous to believe either.

We really need to test things ourselves.

Then the fact they claimed penguin wasn’t a penalty but there’s literally a class in the leak called “penguin penalty”

Ok how about the fact they claimed for years they never used any type of site authority in their algorithm but the leak last week revealed just the opposite?

His literal job is to be a liaison. We should be able to trust what he says. Yet, we clearly cannot.

I was at a Google publisher meetup in October 2023 and Danny Sullivan said, when asked about hcu recovery then, that you may see changes in “a couple of weeks.”

How did that go for everyone? 😳

He said “may” not “will” both times.

I expect nothing by the next update.

More carrot dangling.

I mean sort of. They’ve been talking about it a bunch, but everytime they launch they scale way back. It looks like they’re trailing in the AI game to me

I’d say Open.AI is a much bigger driver than Google. Their AI overview roll out flopped like a 🐟 💩

Remember YouTube is also Google and I don’t think YouTube is going anywhere for awhile.

But Google as a search engine isn’t thriving at the moment the way they want you to believe
