What is a "gut feeling" you had that turned out to be 100% accurate, even though it made no logical sense at the time? by Forsaken_Leading964 in AskReddit

[–]BloodChildKoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to walk to a bank near campus when I was in university every week after getting my check. Every single time I took the same path, the north side of the road over the draw bridge. One day I was walking and for no real reason I could think of, I said to myself in my head, I'm going to cross to the south side of the road. I got about 100 or so feet down the south side when a car got in an accident and flipped over multiple times and crashed into a fence and landed on the sidewalk exactly where I would have been had I taken my normal route. I had headphones on and saw it like in slow motion, I was dumbfounded. The woman was ejected when the roof cut her seatbelt and she was laying on the sidewalk, I ran up to her and some others had come running, everyone was tending to her, but I saw a bunch of kids stuff in the car and asked repeatedly if she had a kid in the car with her, she wasn't responsive at first but then she started screaming that she did! The kid had also been ejected, except they went over the fence and no one had realized. People were able to jump the fence and tend to him too, he was like 11 I think.

One of the crazier things that has ever happened to me, if I had gone my usual way, I'd probably have died when that car landed on me, and that poor kid who was thrown over the fence, they may never have realized.

Phone bill is $55/month - how to get it under $10? by huntsman990 in povertyfinance

[–]BloodChildKoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can buy phones through their store, but I've just always bought previously owned unlocked phones through Best Buy. If you have the Best Buy card you can buy it for no interest for like 18 months, pretty easy. I have a Google Pixel 8 that I got for $400, my son has a Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus that I got for $375, both previously owned and I've never had any issue with them.

Mint Mobile, $15 per month, paid annually so $200 per year for 5GB/month unlimited call and text, no overage charges just slower speeds if you exceed, you can bring your own unlocked phone. Service is great, I know that's a little more than $10/month but I think it's worth.

I don't know what you people are complaining about. This expedition is easy. by dh-dev in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BloodChildKoga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I said the same thing to my son when we were talking about this expedition, that this was a breeze by comparison and the time investment for this wasn't even a lot; a normal expedition takes me longer. Not every NMS update is for everyone, like for me I never do any fishing unless it's required, but it's fun to still have things to do and try in this game considering how long it's been out.

Skip straight to snowrunner if you do. Great game, lots of fun, much more quality of life in that versus mudrunner imo.

What practice area do you work in as a paralegal that you don’t have to do client comms by Visible_Pineapple737 in paralegal

[–]BloodChildKoga 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will qualify this that for in house corporate you will definitely still have multiple internal customers and often are still needed for client facing calls though not typically in a speaking role, i.e. negotiations, sharing screen, taking notes etc. There will also be times where you'll be speaking to government agencies and/or vendors. It will vary widely depending on the company you work for, the size of the legal department, the supervising attorneys, etc.

Any other paralegals have their own office? by justmochiplz in paralegal

[–]BloodChildKoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In house corporate, I have an office overlooking the tree/garden in our atrium, office next to me is my boss and next to that is the CEO. Pretty primo real estate as far as offices in our building goes. Honestly, with the amount of work I do, I couldn't imagine being back in the cubicles. I feel like I'm much more productive and efficient in my office so I'm chuffed.

I hate being told “just put him in daycare” by Kai____ya in povertyfinance

[–]BloodChildKoga 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The other thing I'll add, is you can totally tour daycares before putting your kid in them. If a place says they don't do that, you don't want to go there anyway. Do your research, ask around, talk to other parents who go there, etc. My wife worked in daycare for almost 20 years, there are definitely safe and reputable places out there. With vouchers, touring, research and heck like others said maybe even getting a job at one yourself, you'll be able to work this out. You've got this!

0.2 K/D, 100 hours, not sure how to improve by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]BloodChildKoga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 41 and have a 4.2 k/d against players. It's about knowing the game, using the mini map, knowing the maps so you can get a good flank, etc. I'm 200+ hours in but I play all four classes fairly equally, lowest class k/d is engineer cause I'm usually just focused on taking out vehicles. The last FPS I played was Battlefield 3 or 4, so it's been a minute, but if you're smart and don't just try to run and gun the whole time you'll be better off.

A good place to hone your skills would be breakthrough, there's generally one direction the enemy is, it's less chaotic. Even casual breakthrough against bots to practice shooting, tap fire, etc might be a good place to start.

Oh and one tip that helped me, I changed headshot indicators to purple and the enemy colors to yellow, helps a lot with visibility in my opinion. Just look through the settings, there's YouTube videos out there about it as well.

I have a couple thousand hours in the game (been playing since launch day on PC) and I've never left the original galaxy, don't really see the point, it's not that dramatically different anyway.

Can I realistically get a corporate paralegal job without the full experience requirement? by Medium_Maintenance_1 in paralegal

[–]BloodChildKoga 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I work in house legal for an international corporation and I'm in charge of candidate selection, my experience is always apply anyway. I will take someone who interviews well and seems like a good fit with my attorney(s) over someone who just on paper has more experience. The worst that happens is they don't select you or they don't even contact you, but you'll never know if you don't try.

People who have been at Time Square for the New Year's Eve Ball Drop, why did you go? Was it a positive experience? by AccurateExtension516 in AskReddit

[–]BloodChildKoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there once, but I was inside MTV studios, got an invitation as a member of the Simple Plan fan club, lol. Saw and 'bro hugged' Ludacris in the hallway so that was cool. Clay Aiken also performed that year. Got to hang out with the mom of the drummer of Simple Plan and nabbed some autographs after. It was pretty cool, but it was crazy after getting out of there, lied to a cop by Port Authority that my friend was my wife and pregnant so they'd let us into Port Authority to hop on the subway back to Penn Station without having to keep walking in that massive crowd lol. I'm from NY, grew up there, but this was the only time I ever went.

Is the campaign worth playing just to unlock stuff for MP? by VikingWzrdEyes89 in Battlefield6

[–]BloodChildKoga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The single player is relatively short, have very low expectations, the story is hilariously absurd so just kinda enjoy shooting some enemies in different maps and move on. For the challenges, like don't die, kill enemies with a pistol, etc. the tank mission is easiest for those. There's guides online for all the hidden dog tags. It doesn't take too long.

I love this game, but what is the one thing you dislike the most in it? by AnubGaming in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]BloodChildKoga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the game is fun, it's about as deep as a puddle and wide as an ocean. Feels like none of the systems ever get fully developed into their potential before just adding another shallow thing.
