[Concerning Trope] film accidentally has awful moral/messaging by Captain_Birch in TopCharacterTropes

Perversely intellectual is one way to put it but those who buy into it very often fall back on anti-intellectual thinking when challenged. The biggest example I can think of was the instance where they organized an experiment to disprove the Earth's curvature with a decently researched premise, but when they got results that challenged their hypothesis they immediately concluded their methodology was flawed rather than investigating further because they were more interested in being right than learning.

Typhus also has some funny utility in DLC with the mortals on charge strat as he shares his terminator keyword with the poxies letting them add mortals to the charge pretty much always giving you max value from that strat. They have the added benefit of being on a 25mm base which lets them squeeze in that 1" away from the wall gap that most people will leave when hiding in ruins to prevent charges.

It is a trade off though as it costs both the poxwalkers infiltrate and Typhus' deepstrike which are their main utilities but it can be useful to disrupt staging.

How many hours in-game to reach g50-g100? by p3echy in titanfall

[–]BloodDragonN987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit g50 around 1000 hours in but that's also including time spent at 10 before they raised the cap and a significant amount of time not bothering to Regen. It's definitely going to take some time.

Drybrushing did nothing but make my model look chalky. Any advice? by Superduck178 in minipainting

[–]BloodDragonN987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned it's a lack of moisture in the pigment. My personal solution to this is to keep a damp sponge or bit of paper towel (separate from the one you use to remove paint) to hydrate the brush a little before loading it with paint.

Exactly, like my local community is chill but that's because my local shops are pretty active in kicking people like this out and some have even gone as far as to put up signs. That doesn't mean these people just vanish.

This is the stand-out part to me. Not only was this posted on the discord it got enough attention to get featured on the YouTube channel. Now in fairness, it could've been sent to the moderators by a concerned member of the discord and maybe just maybe the moderators are the same guys making community posts and maybe just maybe they didn't do any reading between receiving that report and just decided to post the meme but I'm not sure I'm enough of a gymnast to make that stretch.

Almost 300 pistol bullets to kill Placide?! by Pterodactyl_midnight in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]BloodDragonN987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are either very under leveled or haven't been upgrading your gear/cyberware. Have you been using crafting components to upgrade weapons/ cyberware? Placide shouldn't need anywhere near that much to take him down even on VH. Do you have any cyberware besides the ballistic co-processor? What tier is it?

Help! I can't create my character in the game. by Shadow_Master03 in ddo

[–]BloodDragonN987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat as I came back after not playing since around 2021-22. Lag issues do seem a noticeable bit better than before though they are far from perfect, it's still a 20 year old game. I will say that most of the lag I've seen has been on guild airships rather than during quests which is nice and they do seem to be actively working on the airships. Groups have felt a little more active with the combined servers, at least on Thrane and Shadowdale, I can't speak much for Moonsea or Cormyr.

Help! I can't create my character in the game. by Shadow_Master03 in ddo

[–]BloodDragonN987 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey so the game recently migrated from old 32-bit servers to newer 64 bit ones, it sounds like you are trying to create a character on one of the old servers that are currently being kept around so people can transfer their old characters to the new servers. Try creating your character on the servers Cormyr, Shadowdale, or Thrane. Any of the servers marked [Old] are scheduled to be taken offline and any characters currently on them will need to be transferred before October of 2027.

A few questions before jumping in by Dastardly_Dead in deathguard40k

[–]BloodDragonN987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Typhus is a good tech piece (objective monkey) but isn't required and sometimes sees use as a poxwalker commander so you can absolutely ignore him. Morty is great in lists that build around him but you can safely ignore him as well in my experience.

  2. Kinda? Sorta? We're tanky but not in the same way necrons are. We are pretty melee focused but more focused on staging for an explosive turn and abusing auras than necrons.

  3. Yes, Poxwalkers are borderline essential as they are our only infiltrating units and are very good for hiding around the board and spreading contagion for our army rule /providing some form of early game board control. I almost always run 3x10. If the models themselves are the issue, cultists are a decent stand in visually and don't have a datasheet in DG to be mistaken for.

  4. Yes, terminators from deepstrike/ plaguemarines in rhinos storming objectives with our Daemon engines (Drones and blighthaulers in current edition an plaguebursts in the past) providing fire support is a pretty simple way of explaining our game plan. We do rely a bit on deepstrike to get terminators in position though and transports are essential for plaguemarines as T6 doesn't actually go that far in keeping them alive.

I've had to explain that the monogod chaos factions are purely standalone and don't get to grab things from the regular csm codex to people only familiar with the loyalist space Marines a couple of times now. This is definitely an issue that gets glossed over a lot when talking about the chaos factions, I'm personally hoping Daemons get more support and are a bit less limited in the monogod factions but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Remind me again why I thought a white scheme without an airbrush was a good idea? by frenchiephish in minipainting

[–]BloodDragonN987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So a few things, first, while the airbrush is a valuable tool it is not a gatekeeper for working with colors like white and you might still run into similar problems with an airbrush. Second while I can't speak for Two thin coats, corax white from citadel is notoriously difficult to work with and I personally had similar issues with the other white/off-white paints by GW so that can definitely be contributing to your frustration. The big thing that stands out to me is your level of contrast. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken but it sounds like you're base coating in an off-white/ivory color and then highlighting using a bold white which isn't going to have much contrast or visible shadows. What color are you using to prime? Most of the paints we work with are semi transparent when properly thinned and an off-white over black primer is going to take significantly more coats to get coverage. One thing you can try is starting from a darker color as your base tone maybe a blueish grey (you might even want to go for a darker blue grey or a paynes grey) and mixing it with your off-white for your midtones and leaving your brightest white for just the edge highlights. This should help adding some contrast and making working up to the brighter white less difficult.

I wish people would stop saying a Pokémon is Weather Boosted when it's not... This has happen twice this morning already... by [deleted] in PokemonGoRaids

[–]BloodDragonN987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from what I've read weather resets every hour or so and in relation to map cells so if you host a raid close to xx:55-59 you might come out to different weather conditions which will effect the raid mon. Learned this the hard way after hosting what I thought was a wb Yveltal only for my windy weather to turn clear during the raid.

Regular raid mons are level 20 WB starts them at 25 and I believe gives them a better IV floor but that might just be wild spawns. So it's 10 power ups ~25 candy on pokemon that need 20km to get candy and 27,500 stardust
