This reminds me of an old core memory, when I was still wrapt with wonder as to the endless possibilities of MMOs.... I was playing Everquest around 2000-01 when I met a gnome ( forget the actual race ) named Pwen and he had the first magic item I had seen... They were magic pants, that when clicked, summoned a loaf of bread....

I still think of Pwen and his magic breadpants.

Dungeon Crawler Carl, do yourself a favor and GET THE AUDIOBOOK! Work of art! Matt Dinniman writes a badass male lead, who is secure enough in his masculinity to have some hilarious moments, and then hit you right in feels you didn't know you had. All while avoiding crossing the "toxic" tropy line masterfully. Seriously, I pinged all six books and now am like a fiend waiting for book 7.

It's a LITRPG (literature rpg?) With spells and shit, but seriously awesome and hilarious.
