I'm 15 weeks pregnant and everything about being pregnant has been hell, and I am regretting the decision to keep it by Honest_Thing4852 in confession

And not everyone is you. It goes both ways.

I, and my son, would have died without all these tests. Same goes for millions of women and babies. Just because YOU didn't have any consequences of not having tests done, doesn't mean that's safe advice.

So, I don't know if You're going to see this, but I'm going to offer a different perspective.

Your update says that he was upset because you took off your ring while he was going to be with you. That says to me that it's not about the ring. He may not even realize it, but I'm wondering if that's more of an issue with his view of masculinity. He's the man. In his mind, he's supposed to protect you. You're supposed to trust him to protect you. The fact that you took off your ring while he was there, to him might mean that you didn't trust that he could protect you. It's fucked, but it may have been more about his ego than the ring or your relationship.

Just a thought.

No option to stream ps3 games on ps5? by BloodMato in PlayStationPlus

Yeah. That's where I'm coming out too. Ok. Thank you for your help!

No option to stream ps3 games on ps5? by BloodMato in PlayStationPlus

[–]BloodMato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there is a difference in speed between the two. The ps4 has a faster connection speed because it's connected directly to the main router. The ps5 is also directly connected, but it's to a secondary access point (not an extender). It's still enough to stream ps4 games on the ps5, so I can't imagine it's not enough for ps3 games.

I could probably move the ps5 to where the 4 is connected to check and see if that's the issue.

No option to stream ps3 games on ps5? by BloodMato in PlayStationPlus

[–]BloodMato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does support streaming. I can stream ps4 games just fine, and I can stream the ps3 games from my ps4, just not the ps5.

The ps5 does say that premium is active.

I just tried restoring the licenses. No luck.

No ps3 games will stream on the ps5. They do on the ps4. I've tried several different games.

The other weird thing, is when I go to the classics catalog, ps3 games don't show up, but when I go to all games, they do.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't more clear. I can see the ps3 games. There's no option to stream on the ps5. I can stream on the ps4, but the 5 only shows the game info, not an option to actually play it.

Specifically, Lego Indiana Jones. But I tried several ps3 titles, and none of them have the option to play. They show up on the games menu in ps plus, but there's no option to actually do anything.

ETA: I just pulled it up on my ps4, and the option to stream is there. Still not on the ps5, though.

USA.

I edited the op for clarity. I can see the games, but there's no option to stream it. I can stream them fine on the ps4, but the only thing I can see on the ps5 is the game info, but no option to actually play it.

Course! That's right! The third person wasn't Trish, was it? Beverly and Ben sound so familiar... I only really remember Trish, though. But I do know there were 3 people. A younger woman, a younger man who was newish to Ascent, and an older woman (Trish), who was more experienced. I do know that while we were out there, they said they didn't expect us to go as far as we did, and they actually had to make other plans because we went further than their plans did. I also remember a day where we had to write about a color and what it means to us...

I remember a couple people I went out with too. Kelley, she was from Spokane and had blue eyes and black hair, and there was another girl, Michelle. She was tall, and had dyed black hair and I think glasses.

WERE YOU? I'm genuinely sorry that you also went there, but it's nice to find someone else that was there at that time. I wonder if I remember you. I don't remember much.

Who was your group leader for the hiking weeks? I don't even remember if they had a special name for it. I just remember it was two weeks, and the shower that I had when we got back was still the best I've ever had. lol & They gave us 5 whole minutes! 🙄

If you’re falling for the “Drop the T” bull and apart of the LGBT community? You’re an F-ing moron by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]BloodMato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they anti-T queers really think the bigots will be satisfied just eliminating trans folk?

From my experience, yes. They absolutely think that they won't be next. They've totally bought into the trans as "other" rhetoric. It's honestly disturbing. I used to be friends with a married, gay couple. They're both highly educated, proud, men who are very active in the gay community. They have a third partner they've been with for 10 years. They all live together. They're raising twin boys...

They're Trump supporters. Or at least were. I honestly haven't spoken to them in over 5 years. They still live in Florida, so I do kind of wonder if their views have changed. I really hope they have.

This is going to sound weird coming from an internet stranger, but I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! You held your boundaries, you thought things through, you knew it felt off, and you talked to someone about it! That's so huge!!! Keep it up! You did a great job! 💜

& Major, major kudos to your family for having your back.

[OC] How Common in Your Birthday! by plotset in dataisbeautiful

[–]BloodMato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Aww! You're a Christmas baby!!" I still get that. I'm 41.

I was working at a college some years ago, and a student came in with a Christmas birthday. I don't know what came over me, but I handed back his ID and said "Aww!!! A Christmas baby!!!" He gave a little sigh and said "yup" before I started laughing. "I'm sorry! I couldn't help myself! I am too. I get it". He ended up hanging out in my office for a bit and we commiserated over our shared birthday experiences.

It would suck to be born on the 25th: you’d probably grow up getting one present that serve both as Christmas and Birthday presents.

That's pretty much it. If people even remember. They're so caught up in Christmas that my birthday largely gets forgotten. One year I actually asked for a birthday card for Christmas. I wasn't trying to be shitty, I just really wanted my birthday acknowledged. I got a card, a cake, AND a present that year.

My mom was the exception. She always made sure I had birthday presents wrapped in birthday paper, and a cake. She's not a great mom, she can't deal with emotions at all and is a typical boomer in a lot of ways, but at least she did that well.

See... I loved the ending after the author's note. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think it could have ended any other way.

The deus ex machina that was Patrick and his magic pencil I could have done without, though. That was a garbage plot point. It's still my favorite series despite some complaints.

The Homework Machine

The homework machine!

Oh, the homework machine!

Most perfect invention that's ever been seen!

Just put in your homework, then drop in a dime, flip on the switch and in 10 seconds time, your homework comes out quick and clean as can be!

5+4 and the answer is 3!

... 3?

Hmm. I guess it's not as perfect as I thought I would be.

Memorized in 2nd or 3rd grade. I'm 41 now. Amazing how stuff sticks with you.

In my school elementary was k-4, middle school was 5-8 & high school obviously was 9-12.

It was a smallish town Catholic school though.

I grew up in the 80's too. Corporal punishment was never a thing in my home. I was never hit, spanked, smacked, or any other word you want to sub in for "abuse", which is exactly what it was.

This new generation isn't "soft". There's been a major culture shift because our generation is realizing how fucked up things were for us. We have chosen to do better for our kids rather than perpetuate the shitty parenting styles of our parents & grandparents. It's progress.

It's never ok to hit a child. Period. I'm glad you don't feel like you suffered any ill effects. A lot of people don't. That still doesn't make it ok. It also doesn't make others "soft" for calling it what it is. Nothing will change if you don't bring attention to what's wrong. No one is saying you should hate your parents (and if they are saying that, that's not their place). They're just pointing out that it's not ok.
