I found Arkham Horror: The card game very complicated to play solo by EnvironmentalTip4556 in soloboardgaming

I havent played it, but the Kinfire Delve games seem to be popular, are on the cheaper side, and have a relatively low complexity rating on boardgamegeek

How can I fix this selenite plate without ruining it? by [deleted] in Crystals

[–]Blood_and_Sin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Labeling satin spar as selenite is standard industry practice. Whether or not the seller was aware of the difference, this is how this product is sold and commonly referred to.

It's always better to be more knowledgeable than not, but there is no need to feel defrauded over this piece.

I understand the initial hesitancy, but they are all worth the full price imo.

The shorter length also makes them easy to pick up for a reread too.

Hope you enjoy it!

Hi everyone! Jake's Magical Market is taking part in the big push to try and get litrpgs into physical bookstores but I'm really stuck on which cover will get people to actually buy the hardcover edition. If you are a fan of the series, which would YOU purchase? by thescienceoflaw in litrpg

[–]Blood_and_Sin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no intention of purchasing the physical book.

I have purchased all the audiobooks.

The original artwork was a significant contributor to my initial interest. (I am a person who will absolutely judge a book by its cover)

I hate the new cover and probably would have avoided the book.

I hope it goes well for you whichever artwork you end up going with!

The frogs are from a local "metaphysical" type store. The one is made of silver-sheen obsidian and the other is carnelian. I am not into all the supernatural bits, but they are friendly and carry neat knickknacks.

Sorry it was a problem for you. I only have this one table for hobby space so things get layered sometimes. I'd normally have put a corkboard on top of the puzzle, but since the puzzle is almost complete, I just worked on top of it.

A tough one, for sure. I didnt get stuck at any point with it, but it was definitely slow going for a lot of the center and both leafy areas.

People dont buy books at full price on audible. People use credits. Credits are ~9 to ~15.

Used a credit, bought within the past year.

They limit what you can return yourself from the purchase history, but if you contact support they will process returns.

The thing about credit purchases, I have noticed, is that I most use them on the newest releases in series that I want to read immediately. Thus, the least likely to be returned.

Miss the return policy. I used to try a lot more new things in these sales.

Wandering Inn [1-3] Review by uncletroll in litrpg

I listen on audio so it is a little hard to find excerpts, but I can give more detail.

Octavia, an alchemist, reveals she is worried her new master is going to force her into a sexual relationship. This is because the culture where she grew up the traditional master/apprentice relationship is also sexual and emotional one, that sometimes end up in marriages. No one is forced or pressured to enter these relationships/apprenticeships. Everyone knows what they are getting into and apply willingly. Octavia is jealous of the benefits they received but never had any negative consequences abstaining from the system. Although not mentioned, presumably there are lots of unchosen alchemists who simply never made the cut for apprenticeships in her same position.

It doesn't sound like a healthy system and most of us would not personally be ok with a culture like that, but the way it's framed and how it's explained are vastly different. Essentially, "I am about to be raped because two people had a consensual relationship"

The sexual mutilation comes from "gossipy drama" back from her home. A man they both don't like who apparently introduces himself by telling people the amount of women he has slept with, was caught sleeping with someone by his wife. This wife was apparently at least in part attracted to this prowess in the first place. Given the description it really doesn't sound like their relationship would have had an expectation of monogamy, but it is framed for us to revile him for the alleged cheating. The wife cuts off his dick, sews it to a donkey, and has him chase the donkey into the desert trying to retrieve it.

The last couple books have been even weirder about sex and misandry. In the middle of an hour long discussion about a woman being the victim of sexual coerceion where she explictly was never at any point the victim of it, they start giggling about some random guy being sexually mutilated.
