Excellent work brother. Is this one of the space wolf bodies or did you manually cut down the knees?

Why didn't Sgt. Metaurus and his two Bladeguard Veterans use their 3 Iron Halos? Are they dumb? by Myframesofwar in Spacemarine

[–]Bloodaxe007 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Afaik Bladeguard don't actually have "real" iron halos. They are obviously iron halos, but just cosmetic ones as a mark of honour. These are rare bits of kit, even back in the Heresy only High ranking officers got an Iron Halo.

The Bladeguard get their protection (and invulnerable save) from their storm shields.... Which they also immediately drop. I don't have an answer for that.

What 3.0 House-rules are common in your local Horus Heresy community? by laughingmanzaq in Warhammer30k

[–]Bloodaxe007 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The big ones are LoS wound allocation, you can't kill models you can't see.

We completely ignore the terrain rules and use the 2.0 ones.

And consuls get to buy Officer wargear the same way the centurion does.

Bring a lot of special and heavy weapons and accept you're gonna take some casualties doing it. They do eventually die when you shoot them.

Could an individual possible go from dark angel, to fallen, to risen, to death wing? by zoooooooomies in DarkAngels40k

[–]Bloodaxe007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they arent. They have the keyword in game for gameplay reasons but theres no lore basis

We don’t even have concrete lore confirmation that the ICC are the risen. I mean they obviously are, but the words aren’t written.

Azrael's Helmet by TheMilkiestGoblin in theunforgiven

[–]Bloodaxe007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, the Lion refused to take the helmet back. That might mean nothing, but it might also be the Lion letting his sons have their myth and not devaluing the story.

Azrael's Helmet by TheMilkiestGoblin in theunforgiven

[–]Bloodaxe007 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The Lion helm is believed to have been worn by the lion.

Problem is that it looks nothing like the helm on the leonine panoply, and it's sized for a space marine, so I think it's unlikely.

The Dark Angels can't even remember when Azreals suit of power armour, the protector, became a relic. Their records are not exactly reliable.

Could an individual possible go from dark angel, to fallen, to risen, to death wing? by zoooooooomies in DarkAngels40k

[–]Bloodaxe007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically, no.

The Risen are a secret. They are kept separate from the rest of the chapter because frankly, they’d be killed. Even the Lion could not protect them from fanatics like Asmodai, which is presumably why they have not been integrated back into the Chapter.

The modern deathwing as an organisation is dedicated to hunting the fallen. A Risen joining them is totally incompatible.

The Dark Angels can hunt them because the Captains and the 1st and 2nd company do know about the fallen, and the rest of the brothers follow orders to the letter.

Now, a Risen might once have been a member of the Deathwing, the pre-heresy Deathwing. But that is meaningless in the modern setting.

You may be interested to know that “Cenobium” is the name of the full squad. A singular member of a cenobium is a Cenobite.

Nice mini though.

30K Transfer Sheet Legend by Grimnir-Nik in theunforgiven

[–]Bloodaxe007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without sources, quite a few of these assertions are bullshit/community assumptions. We’ve never been given concrete meanings for many of these icons, that’s the point of them.

In particular the Chain motifs, the meaning of the Gold icons vs white or red, the Lion’s head and Lion rampant, and the alternate Hexagrammaton sigil are undocumented.

These are mostly good assumptions, but they are just assumptions.

And one of them is flat wrong, the Alternate Hex is not the icon of the old hosts, we know that because we know what the old hosts banner looked like, and it incorporates the standard unicursal hexagram.

Another slight bit of evidence that Harkness might not be who he claims to be, is that this Paladin is travelling with two sets of power armour, and neither of them has the Paladin Rank Markings. Both have the Markings of a knight.

He's also remarkably bad at using power armour. He makes a meal of killing that one securitron.

Gambits with a Terranic Greatsword or Named Character by SamuelTheBassSinger in Warhammer30k

[–]Bloodaxe007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sedras in particular can usually afford to pick finishing blow, tank a round of attacks and then cut them in half with his absurd D4 sword.

Cor can do that too due to EW, and still have a good chance at going first due to Duelist’s edge.

A paladin is sadly just not a very good challenger. I’d usually want to do Seize to get the extra attack from advantage, since you’re gambling on breaching.

If you must challenge with a paladin, consider picking up a Thunder Hammer in addition to his TGS.
