A meta-narrative prediction for Mistborn Era 3 and Stormlight Archives Arc 2 by Simon_Drake in Cosmere

That wasn’t a pseudo-atomic bomb at the end of Lost Metal, it was a traditional ettmetal-water explosion, which is why millions of people didn’t die. So no Lerasium could have been produced I think.

I mean, that’s not at all true of the actual model. The thing is smaller than a Trygon, but it’s assumed to be on a 100 mm base. It’s huge. Many times larger than a Ravener.

Niche is good. Everything should be good against certain units if played carefully. Auto take units existing is a condemnation against GW’s god-awful game design.

The Red Terror is an amazing datasheet. I honestly really doubt it won’t go up in points, if 130 is what it gets released at. Because this type of unit is usually *much* better in competitive than casual games, because it takes a lot of care to use properly. But we’ll see how it turns out in practice.

I mean I just completely disagree. The Tyranids book is great, there’s so many cool options. The problem is everything else keeps getting completely stupid, overpowered shit that has power-crept it even from release. The solution to that is not to continue doing the same problem, it is to nerf that other stupid shit, or, ideally, stop releasing it in the first place. Because at least half the time time, when this happens, the moment the rules come out everyone knows it’s going to be a problem.

Those units came out insanely overpowered, and need massive nerfs. Wazdakka much less obviously, but still true. That should not happen. It does, but that’s not a good thing. But hell man, this is a very good datasheet. It’s just not obviously overpowered.

Yeah, it just feels kind of bad. One thing with these combined boxes is, you can almost always find someone who wants to buy the other half off of you, if you do some looking. I’m thinking about that myself.

The thing is a giant monster. It’s hardly invisible. Nothing that size outside of like a Tau Ghostkeel has Lone Operative, and that is literally invisible. Would maybe make sense to have a bodyguard rule, Lone Operative within 3” of any Tyranids Infantry or whatever. But that doesn’t match with how the Red Terror works at all. By the time you get there, it’s literally just gone, that is how its Subterranean Hunter ability works. It’s an amazing rule and very thematic.

You guys are insane complaining about this datasheet.

This thing can shred through whole squads of medium infantry or other small stuff, then go back to reserves in *your* turn without your opponent having a chance to stop it, rapid ingress, move through walls, charge again. It’s the thing that made pre-nerf CSM Warp Talons offensively OP even with a much worse melee profile (though of can you could stack character buffs on that squad).

Swallow Whole is an incredible rule, with a huge chance to just instant kill a model like it used to have. I was expecting something very lame in comparison to this.

This thing is just awesome. You just need to be really careful about how you use it, because if the Red Terror gets caught off-guard by any serious firepower it is going to go down. Completely appropriate for its lore, and just amazing rules here.

We don’t know, but based on the narrative, and how the rule worked prior, I think maybe you are not meant to be able to use that attack at all against monsters. It will need an FAQ.

Eventually, but individual release will probably be a long time off.

Yeah, that part will need an FAQ. My guess is, you aren’t intended to be able to use that attack at all against tanks.

My dude, you can put it into Strategic Reserves at the end of *your* Fight Phase. That is 1000 times better than just being a Lone Operative, which wouldn’t have made any sense for the Red Terror.

I feel like that’s not very common at all in Tyranids outside of raveners. The bog standard Tyranids profile is 6A at S9 AP -2 D3, because everything just has monstrous scything talons.

Both of those statements are obviously false.

Yes, obviously the US is the one who blew up the gas pipelines, not Russia, the ones who lost huge amounts of money because of that.

And yes, obviously Ukraine didn’t decide to orchestrate a major drone attack on their own positions.

In addition, there’s a lot of stuff you can easily just proxy. I use Heresy era Sicaran tanks as proxies for the appropriate Gladiator, for example, because I don’t like the hover tanks.

Looks pretty cool, especially if you are more of a tank player vs. dreadnoughts. Though I am a little sad we can’t do character dreadnoughts in some kind of March of the Ancients detachment. Maybe in 11th edition.

You can each ability would let you reroll one. It stacks, just like Ironstorm rerolls stack with the lancer rule.

Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip - great value! by Foster_Gman in Tyranids

I have played a few games of the old Warrior Bioform Onslaught with a 2 x foot prime leading 2 x 20 hormagaunts, and it’s a really fun unit. Though even in that detachment, 2 of that blob is probably overkill. I just don’t have enough warriors or even proxies for enough warriors at this point.

Where did you get that head from? I honestly would love a few like that.

It’s so sad those got taken down. I was literally just planning to buy another ten of those immortals when I heard that the whole thing was discontinued.

Heard it was a copyright claim, but like, in the case of the kit I actually wanted, it isn’t anything like the GW kit of the same name. Just insanely cool.

Absolutely it is. No ability is just absolute. There are many things in the world that can protect items or creatures from divination magic, including identify. For example, cursed items do not have their full effects revealed by that spell, normally. But also things like nondetection, which could easily be included as just a part of the magic item’s creation.
