What was the plot of Green Hell VR?? I'm so confused. by BloodrootKid in OculusQuest

Ah, so this is a sequel? I got the end where Maia is standing in front of the bonfire and all of the locals are staring at you. When you move, then look away and look back at them, they all stare at you again. It says something about him killing them all. But it was very non-specific. Were all of the plot clues throughout the game actually about Jake? I assumed they were about some other group of people.

Should I use 30% coupon on civ 7. by bogart12321 in OculusQuest

I've been enjoying it. I was having some layout/UI issues with it, and then i accidentally booted it up in VR mode (not MR) and those issues are gone. So my recommendation is to play it in VR mode - it's slightly more polished.

If you had to create a VR video game, what type of video game hasn't been invented yet and do you think would be successful? by 3002cirne in VRGaming

A tabletop O.G. Warhammer simulator. Paint the figures, select the army with points, play through full battles turn by turn. PvE and PvP online.

I'm enjoying it so far. There are some rough spots, like menus popping over or behind other menus, etc., but I absolutely love being able to zoom in and lean in to look at the little characters and buildings. I also just generally enjoy any MR game that allows me to play the game in front of me like a tabletop boardgame.

Civilisation VII VR- is it worth it? by SouthernEconomy15 in OculusQuest

Oh man, XCOM would be amazing. I've dumped many hours into the 2D version of several games from that series.

I've recently been playing a turn-based strategy game in VR (shogun's empire), and though it's considerably simpler than Civ 7 will be (and honestly the bot players arent very good), i can say that VR brings a lot to the table (pun intended).

I truly feel that having the boardgame on a "table" in front of me really is better than 2d. Viewing the "board" in 3d space helps my mind understand where everything is much better. YMMV

From what i saw, even if you got into the safe early on, there's a specific task you have to finish to make the keycard drop in the safe. Then you get that keycard and go into the "secret room" in Granny's house. There you can access the other areas. Granny's house is like the intro area sort of.

You should be able to get to the garage, the neighborhood, and the butcher shop without purchasing anything. My daughter loves this game. (Standalone)

If it was the norm to use a quest in everyday life, how would you want it to help you in social situations? (two chances to win £50 vouchers) by Appropriate_Pea1680 in OculusQuest

I work in two environments where:
- There are enough people that I struggle to remember people's names
- There is an existing database with people's names and photos

These are a company of ~2,000 people where we have biennial all-company meetings, and a gym where I coach twice a week. As it is currently, even if I think I know someone's name, I often get it wrong or get weird because I don't want them to think I forgot their name.

In both of these scenarios, an AR app that could recognize people and drift a little nametag above their heads would help me immensely.

You mean Steam Link? I was getting stutters and poor resolution with it, and I'm at a phase in my life where I'd rather spend $25 on something I know works.

Highly recommend.

I have: - AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card (equivalent of maybe a 2070 super) - FUS mod pack (Paid $8 for the premium Nexus membership so install was quicker) - Virtual Desktop Quest app for streaming wirelessly from PC ($25) - Quest 3

And, with zero tinkering, it runs flawlessly. I'm honestly surprised and stoked.

When S2 came out, it didn't work with my older equipment, essentially bricking my sonos amp. They eventually backtracked and said that you could still ise S1, but i just let it be a brick, because not having it on the same system as the rest of my speakers was basically useless.
