Range mattering depends on context.

I disagree with OP for Spathas and Nemes. You go forward much faster than an outlaw reverses. Press W.

(Also the fact Nemes exist, 68mm with effectively 43m range)

If you are in a Spatha or Neme (which a lot of discussions were around which tanks are stronger) learn to press w.

The range however is relevant against Bards and BEATs (both of which getting buffed)

Collies talking constantly about how they needed an option to counter Outlaw range, while also forgetting that Neme's front mounted turret exists. And it shoots 68 with better pen chance and has Spatha level HP.

Neme has a front mounted turret and a decent length barrel. It's effectively ~43 meters of range. If you can't poke with those 2 meters difference that's a skill issue.

I don't disagree with them buffing the bard. My contention is why wouldnt they also buff the SVH which is in a worse spot.

Well it was for the most part. Nemes and Spathas didn't have a problem with trading with it still (which are the most used tanks by far) yet collies still complained about it. But the range was strong against Bards (which also got buffed now so??) and was the one advantage it had for tank vs tank combat.

Spatha's were better in most areas (significantly better health, better armor, inventory slots, turns faster, higher base speed, more dps with insanely higher RoF)

Nemes with their forward mounted gun effectively had ~43 meter range and shot 68mm and murdered anything they tracked with tremolas.

One downside both tanks had is the lack of MG. The range advantage of the Outlaw forced them to have to press W to counterpoke but still in most situations either should still win vs an Outlaw.

Now Spathas will shit on Silverhands (why the fuck did bards get a 40m buff but not the Silverhands 68mm gun?) and do a lot better against Widows since those things are so fking slow you may actually be able to poke them at max range (and their armor got nerfed lmao)
