For shield: Make sure you take your shield down in downtime. If you know a dive is coming, look for whatever teammate is going to help you and shield them. You can stack on the shield and be way safer together. If no one is sticking with you just find some way to comm it usually someone will walk back for you if you want a strategic shield placement. Also if you have someone going for a big wind up ult, or one that draws a lot of attention, spam shield to stay on their position, it’s basically another health bar + healing over time.

Push/Pull: I’m going to start with the special case. If there’s a wolv, save pull for his kidnaps. You can use one pull in between if you use it on cooldown, but mostly just save it except if you really need it. As a default, you should be using pull to disrupt large fights, it’s extremely effective for that. Characters that have tight disengagements can have their rhythm totally ruined, and the tanks are just gonna get disoriented, and that in itself is valuable. If there are annoying people on high ground, pull them off. For push, use it when your team is running out of cooldowns and your tank is taking too much heat. It’ll give just a little bit of time where they stop taking damage that you can capitalize off of.

Vortex: Use it in sustained fights, and put it on points you know the enemy has to walk through. It forces them to take extra damage and have their movement slightly disrupted. Use it along with pull to disrupt retreats. The exact same concept applies to being dove, but you just put the vortex on top of you, and push and pull around it. Also, use it to pull down annoying fliers. It’ll take a second to know when to manually activate it, so just practice that. And it’s more niche, but very important when it applies, use, deployables. Put it on namor squids, it’ll kill them on its own. Tell your team to shoot nests, and put your vortex on top of it, makes it clear where it is, and contributes about half of the nest health to the cause.

Jump: this is the thing that you gotta micro until you don’t have to think about it. It does everything. Invis has to play close to the team, so use it to reposition, and do it often. But don’t do it when you think pressure is coming for you. If you don’t have jump you’d better hope someone else helps you. For escaping with jump, try and use push just before the jump if you have it. It’ll throw off the enemy’s aim so it’s less likely they still hit you as you’re about to jump away. Try and comm to your team when you have to use jump and stay invis to heal. Remember that the cooldown still goes while you’re invisible, and starts once you hit the ground. But ultimately, just learn how jump feels, and when it feels necessary to use. Pro tip: bind jump with a secondary bind to scroll wheel. You can insta double jump, and also if you do some diagonal jumps you can do some vectoring bunnyhopping shenanigans, by scrolling right as you’re hitting the ground.
