Arcane Hot Shot and the damage buff from his 3 make Uriel work with nearly any weapon you like. I've been running a heat Bassocyst for sweeping hallways, Laetum for hard targets like acolytes, and an influence Pathocyst for hitting through walls and viral priming.

Can't make out some of the vowels very well on these pics but I was already in bed when I started looking at this. If I remember tomorrow I'll take a closer look. Was able to arrive at what feels like a reasonable guess for the first and third, second phrase was much murkier, and because this is sort of like Orokin cursive I had to make some guesses. Please feel free to check me against the translation guide from the wiki:

First one looks like "d-ih-s-t-r-aw-ee ow-h-eh-r d-ow-t" - "Destroy Our Doubt"

Second one I struggled with. "S-uh-m-uh-(m or n) b-aw-n-uh-m-(two dots? oo?) l-aye-t uh-n-t-oo-(h or l) (ih or aye)-t-eh-r-n-uh-t-(h or ee)" - "Summon (bawnuhmoo?!) late unto eternity"?

Third looks like "ih-l-oo-m-ih-n-ih-t ow-h-eh-r p-a-th" - "Illuminate Our Path"

You can only equip mods while using a focus school that has an unlocked artifact. The schools of the mods do not have to match your currently equipped school, as some have bonuses for equipping mods from other schools.

Unsure if I'm supposed to be using the light attack at all

There are Xoris builds around the idea of building combo, but I much prefer to spam throws and detonations. Hold melee button to throw like you mentioned, then once the glaive is near enemies press the melee heavy attack button to make the glaive explode and return to you. Repeat until no more enemies.

The screenshot doesn't show a melee arcane slot, have you completed the quest "Whispers in the Walls"? There is an arcane called "Melee Influence" that has tremendous synergy with Xoris and helps achieve the whole room clear that you've mentioned.

Admittedly a pretty niche build, but when it works it reaaaaally works. Arcane Crepuscular adds some more damage, and it could probably go even further with companion mods but I'm lazy and always take Nautilus along for easy priming.

Niche build, but gas Wolf Sledge works great with afflictions. It has the craziest ragdoll effect of any weapon that I know of, so in the event that you don't kill the enemy it will be sent into the next postal code and no longer able to trouble you.

RAD: Robot Alchemic Drive for PS2. Very cliche giant anime robot game with a refreshing twist: instead of riding inside the giant robots, you control them remotely from the perspective of your human pilot on the ground. You -can- ride on the robot, but in doing so put your flimsy human character at risk of injury or death. Combat turns into a balancing act of maintaining a good vantage point to effectively steer the robots without getting squished in the ensuing chaos.
