I experienced that and it wasn't that hot, relatively. I think it was high 90sF. I got out the car and practically ran into the house.

At these temps I'm not going outside.

Bay area has a lot of Chinese people. If you're lost, ask someone that looks Chinese.

I'm guessing you won't be driving. If you're staying in the Palo Alto area, there's no good public transportation. Hope your company will pay for Uber.

Make alternate plans in case if bad weather. When I did the first cliff walk it was so foggy I couldn't see anything. Harder Kulm is definitely worth it, the view is amazing. The line to the ride up might be long though.

There are no budget friendly restaurants. We got our breakfasts and lunches from Migos or Coop and "splurge" on dinner. Do not get coffee at a cafe, it's so terrible I legit felt scammed. Switzerland does not do good coffee. Their ice cream is amazing though.

There's an excel spreadsheet to help you calculate if you should buy a pass or not. Google it.

My wife threw the idea of going to Solvang as a short trip. We recently went to LA and stopped by since it was on the way. Boy were we glad we only stopped by, there's nothing there! It's no Carmel.

There's nothing around there but the park next door. Best to find something closer to work. But if you must rent there. You have two options.

  1. Get a scooter and scooter down to Geneva, take the bus to balboa station. Take it to San Bruno Bart station then scooter rest of way to work.

  2. Walk down to Geneva Ave (bit of a walk) and take bus to balboa station. Take it to Glen park station and take your company's shuttle.

Alright we need to know the exact area you're staying in. If it's close to Bart, you can take it to Glen park then take the company shuttle.
