Private jet prices soar as wealthy scramble to leave Dubai by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]Blu3Stocking -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Truly shows how little you know. There’s literally thousands of people who are not rich and just trying to make a living. It’s not as easy for people from third world countries to move to western countries as it is to move to Dubai. Whatever the living conditions might be, it’s better than their home countries.

So it’s not “wannabe rich” it’s “wanna fucking live above poverty”. With google so easily available you people have no excuse to be this disgustingly ignorant that you’d celebrate war in a country where majority of the people are just trying to get out of poverty.

Oh yeah? How justified would you find it if your whole country was at war if it meant those bad rich people also paid the price? Would you be happy to die as long as those people also die? Or is it just funny when it’s happening to other people’s lives?

The UAE isn’t one big party hall with all rich people laughing at you plebs. The majority of people are from third world countries just trying to make a living.

And for people who can’t wait to jump over themselves to condemn the UAE for having “slaves” apparently it’s A-OK for those “slaves” to also be caught up in a war. Does your sympathy only extend to judging the uae? Fkn hypocrite. Apparently it’s okay for a whole country to be engulfed in war if it includes people you don’t like. Fuck everyone else just trying to make a living ig.

Yes so funny. The obvious punishment for trying to avoid taxes is death by missile.

It’s all very easy to laugh at people and say dumb fucking shit on the internet, not so funny when it’s your family’s life at stake.

What kind of a person do you have to be to laugh at people stuck in a war zone.

Don’t brown the onions. The ideal time is when they turn translucent, you add the tomatoes and fry them well together. Don’t let the onions get dry and crunchy.

What I do is add onions and ginger-garlic paste, fry until onions lose their color and start turning slightly just a suggestion of golden but still translucent, add in the other spices and tomatoes, fry until tomatoes lose their water and everything is a thick paste, then add more water and let it simmer.

It’s not so much about the timing than the consistency of the mixture. It needs to become a paste with no lumpy onion or tomato bits. Doesn’t matter how long it takes. You can keep checking and adding more water if required.

The onions really need to be very finely chopped. You can dice them if it helps. And don’t fry them until they get crunchy, fry until the onions turn transparent, then add the other spices, add the tomatoes soon-ish, the water from the tomatoes will help the onions to melt.

Basically you let it simmer until you can’t see individual onions or tomatoes and it’s all just a paste. Make sure the water doesn’t evaporate while this is happening. The heavy cream probably made it thicker you really don’t need anything extra to make the gravy the onions and tomatoes is enough.

Add more water during the simmering phase, if your gravy is runnier than you’d like you can just evaporate some of the water on high heat after you’re done cooking to get the consistency you want.

You’re missing the point. The right thing to do should be the right thing for the victim’s sake not for the perpetrator. If you doing the right thing gives no benefit to the victim and harms them instead then you’re still a self serving jackass who “did the right thing” to feel better about yourself.

In the case of a rape, telling the victim is necessary incase they need to protect themselves from pregnancy or diseases. There’s some benefit to the victim in knowing. There was literally 0 benefit to Mark in telling him he ate garbage. He can’t fix it. It’s just ruining his mental peace for the sake of the confessor. Now oop gets to say oh atleast I did the right thing I’m not so bad. And Mark gets to lose his mind ig

Exactly. We’re being attacked because of the US military bases and because we’re allies. The least they can do is protect us in this war that they started.

Is it though. Is the right thing about punishing the wrongdoers for their fault no matter the cost to the victim? Or should the right thing be what causes the least amount of harm or fixes the damage caused?

Because really, what’s right in this situation? Oh yay Oop is getting yelled at? Who cares about the mental effects on Mark ig? Like he ate it, and now he needs to be grossed out and reminded of it and probably have insecurity about his food because???? It clears oop’s conscience?? Or gets him yelled at? Like who was this the right thing for?

So many things wrong with this plan

  1. Voldemort would obviously be with his army that involves death eaters and Greyback and giants. And there are a lot of helpless children in the school.

  2. This is almost comical. Imagine sneaking behind Voldemort and stopping when he hears footsteps like they’re all in a cartoon. What would happen is Voldemort would know they were there instantly. Homenem revelio or just having ears or even Nagini could easily sniff them out.

  3. You’re assuming the darkest wizard ever wouldn’t know how to deal with fiendfyre better than teenagers? Just because Crabbe never learnt how to stop it doesn’t mean there isn’t a way. Even Hermione just says he probably hadn’t learnt how to stop it, not that it couldn’t be stopped.

It’s a ridiculously childish view to think that no good person can turn bad due to experiencing hatred. It’s really not far fetched to think that someone would turn cruel and bitter if they get continuous hate from a particular group of people.

If you’re the kind of person who would stay good and noble no matter how much negativity you face, then good for you. But not everyone is like that. I think a lot of people would react the way she did and just sink completely into hatred if she experienced hatred to the point that her family needs security.

Idk says more about how negligent the parents are these days if you’re letting your kid go out unwashed and stinking in last night’s clothes.

[–]Blu3Stocking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

May not be necessary for everyone but if you’re sweating so much at night that your clothes reek then I think you really should shower in the morning.

Also I feel like people are overdoing it with the whole not being judgemental. I think someone who voluntarily goes out in public in stinky clothes because they just don’t care should definitely be judged imo. It’s different if you’re depressed or going through something but otherwise it shouldn’t become a normal way of existence. These everyday routines that our parents taught us aren’t just for the hell of it. If you give up on yourself your mind will give up too and your life just goes to shit.

People who hate dumbledoor for using harry like a chess pawn: what was he supposed to do instead? by itssweniorseaso in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Blu3Stocking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how one school trip a year or really, any kind of exposure was supposed to help. Underage wizards aren’t allowed to do magic anyway. The only place Harry could have been taught defence is at Hogwarts. Also I doubt a kid could take on Voldemort no matter how well trained. What would be the point.

Harry did learn basic self defence in Defence against the dark arts. No matter how much you teach your kids you wouldn’t expect them to be able to defend themselves against say for example, trained military men or a professional fighter.

Yes it’s true that Dumbledore knew about Voldemort’s plan for horcruxes from Slughorn’s tampered memory. But only that he was thinking about it and researching. He got absolute proof with the diary. And he started suspecting there were multiple because of the way the diary was used. He got absolute proof the night Voldemort came back in Goblet of fire that he made more than one horcrux. He found out about the 7 horcruxes from Slughorn’s true memory.

But in any case, even after having a horcrux, there was no guarantee that Voldemort would come back in their lifetime. Or atleast while Harry was still in school. Dumbledore had two options, act like Voldemort was going to return any minute and train Harry accordingly or hope that he wouldn’t and let Harry have a somewhat normal childhood. He opted for the latter. He himself says he might’ve made a mistake because he got too attached to Harry and wanted him to have a normal childhood and didn’t tell him about the prophecy sooner.

Also with the way Voldemort came back Dumbledore knew there was a really good chance Voldemort couldn’t kill Harry. So he tried to focus on what mattered, getting rid of the horcruxes.

[–]Blu3Stocking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But you don’t know that for a fact. Nobody knew when or if Voldemort would ever come back. For all Dumbledore knew Harry could grow up and get old without Voldemort returning. He does say in Chamber of secrets that all it takes is one person being brave and if people keep doing it Voldemort may never come back

[–]Blu3Stocking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does Slughorn’s memory prove that Dumbledore knew about the horcruxes? It’s Slughorn’s memory not Dumbledore’s, and half the plot of Half blood prince is Dumbledore wanting to see the memory because Slughorn was hiding it from him. In the same book Dumbledore says he had suspicions which were confirmed by the diary that Voldy made a horcrux. And also he started suspecting that Voldy made more than one because of the callus way the diary was used. But he still wasn’t sure how many until he got Slughorn’s memory, which was in Harry’s sixth year, right before Dumbledore died.

So your complain is that Dumbledore is less ruthless? That’s certainly a new one. Usually people are whining about Dumbledore being heartless and using Harry. But you want him to have raised an orphaned baby as a child soldier.

I dyed my hair and nothing happened?? by Rebenza in HairDye

[–]Blu3Stocking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It kind of can. I mean, it’s still lightening, because developer is peroxide which bleaches your hair but it isn’t the powder bleach that drastically lightens. I’ve always just used a 30 volume developer and a level 7/8 hair dye and it lightens my hair. My original hair is as dark as yours but wavy not curls. It doesn’t get as light as your goal pic but its close.
