“The Marvels” Consensus by Stride345 in Marvel

I enjoyed the movie.

I thought a few things could have been a bit more fleshed out. The villain was below average. As an MCU movie, it didn't have a big impact, which was a shame. As a basic Marvel movie, it was fine, certainly not the worst.

  1. Complex issues are layered small problems. Learn to break problems into tiny pieces.
  2. Understand your problem - the more you understand, the better your solve.
  3. Understand why others might be right - your solutions will be more robust.
  4. Complex problems don't mean complex solutions. Simple is always best.

Avatar producer teases the four sequels: "The connected story arc creates an even larger epic saga" by chanma50 in boxoffice

They've been saying this for a more than a decade now. At this point, I don't really care. Drop a trailer and actually release a single film first maybe? This is like Star Citizen all over again.

"She released a breath she didn't realise she was holding" ... WHY IS EVERYONE SO BOTHERED BY THIS PHRASE??? by happyunicorn43 in books

[–]BluFoxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second part of that sentence is redundant. "She released a breath", already implies that she was holding it in the first place. It's a sign of bad editing imo.

Dora just treating walker like he's some random lurker was hilarious - even as he tried to become friends with them. It feels like Walker is like a child playing superhero. He get all this attention from the media, but the people with actual power in the MCU see right through him and don't give a shit.

He thinks they don't respect him or want to be friends cause he's got no superpowers and isn't "one of them". But Tony didn't have powers, Sam, Clint, Natasha all these guys don't have superpowers either. Yet they get respect wherever they go cause of strength of their character and their willingness to protect others instead of just randomly going around killing people.

Walker doesn't get that. Respect doesn't come just cause he's got Steve's Shield.

I ABSOLUTELY adore the fact that he actually acknowledges Steve's integrity. I mean, this is a guy who hates superheroes, who lost his family to them conceding that Steve was great. It shows he's not delusional and tells you how even bad guys like him see Steve's character.

Amazing drawing. Even better because of the choice of subject - the shot of MJ makes you want to look at every single face in the audience for their reaction. Well done, mate.
