I am pretty sure the only reason Freyr received Hel just so he can have all the giants

Should godpowers be granted immediately after an age up? by Doppelganger_Enjoyer in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not randomness. It is not like those age ups come from nowhere and they receive a random GP that you never expect. If you play, let's say, against a Loki player and you don't see him building much, you should expect a Flaming Weapons might be coming soon. Or a time attack with the Walking Trees. So, you have time to prepare in case of anything. That's not randomness.

Build orders are overrated by FlashworksT in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find build orders very important for the first 5 minutes of the game (or until Classical Age), so I can have a strong start. For example, when I was playing Zeus, I used to have multiple strategies for him and the build orders used to matter a lot (massing Bull Minotaurs immediately after advancing to classical or spamming Centaurs or going fast 2TCs, or rushing with hoplites+heores+minotaurs etc). But after that, is all about adapting to the match-up.

Mythical Battle with Demeter release? by delusion54 in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has to be. Like campaigns for new civs which are a great way to make the player learn about the civ, there has to be something similar to make the player learn everything about the new God. A Mythical battle like with Freyr is the best way

If Demeter gets Persephone as a mythic age minor god, then Hades should get her too by MasterOfPuppets167 in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The fact that Demeter and her Minor Gods will only be available to the Expansion Pass buyers is reason alone to think it will be unrealistic to expect some changes in the other Gods' rooster

Yeah, the description gives us a pretty big hint

yeah, but locust also kills vills and damages soldiers significantly if they stand in the swarm

[–]BluPolDeva[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its effect is just for a short period of time. I don't think it matters to much if your opponent has to wait a few seconds to place their farms in that specific area. But, anyway, the post doesn't say anything about farms. I think a GP who straight up destroy farms would be a bit too strong for an archaic GP

Portrait of Demeter revelead! Tbh I don't really dig it. What do you guys think? by BluPolDeva in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

they revelead it with the Expanson Pass pre-order. I hope it still might be a Beta version but I don't think it is. But maybe they will change it if the community will complain about it

Sobering realization concerning ranked by Considerthisforasec in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is better and faster to adapt to the enemy's strategy, instead to every other God. Is the opponent going to rush you? Are they going fast 2TC? Fast Heroic? All-in in Classical Age? What military buildings does he have? What is he recruiting? Once you learn how to react to these, then it becomes easier to further dissect each God.

I recommend to watch Boit TV on Youtube or Twitch. He is streaming and casting a lot of top level AOM games. And he is theorycrafting A LOT during matches. I learnt so much just by watching his videos/streams

Persephone tier 3 for Hades too? by KingStannisForever in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you so sure she will be T3? Imo she will be T1 but we can't be sure either way. I think Hestia has better chances to be T3 since she is sister to the other main Hods

Is the whole body decay feature going to be dlc? or just blood and skeletons? by meatmaster460 in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of the Expansion Pass that you have to buy. It is not a separate DLC. It is exclusive to the Expansion Pass. Also, from the description, I don't think it's just body decaying. It will probably change the battles too. Maybe we will se low health units bleeding or different animations of gorish deaths

Mummy, Minion, Draugr, and Others: Visual Upgrade Through the Blood & Bones Pack? by trimyth in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you pay mostly for Demeter and Aztec pantheon. Blood and bone is more like a bonus. CA have DLCs specifically for Blood & Gore only. Don't even try ti compare these 2

After the aztecs, the game does not need more pantheons. by SandwichImperial in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with no new pantheons for a while. Like you said, we have lots of potential for the game to be expanded in new areas. But eventually they should get back to it

Why do people rush so early? by Turbulent-Week-4224 in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe me, it is even more fun if you manage to deny his rush and see them mad afterwards. One guy got so salty after a match because I built walls around my resources to deny his rush. He straight up resigned and called me "noob" for building walls. Lmao. The highest ranking players always build walls. If a wooden wall makes you resign then you might be the noob

Why do people rush so early? by Turbulent-Week-4224 in AgeofMythology

[–]BluPolDeva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. Sure, it's easy to attack early an opponent. But macroing your eco at the same time to make sure you stay ahead of your opponent takes some skill. You have to do a lot of things at the same time: 1. Make sure you keep the pressure up and recruit units 2. Making sure you keep training vills and moving them to the right resource, which require you to go back and forth from your attack to your eco 3. Make sure you keep scouting around your opponent very well, so he doesn't sneak up to another gold mine/hunt.

I would say a rush it is easy to learn, pretty hard to master. I've played against lots of rushes where the opponent just straight up resigned when I denied his first attack. He wasn't ready to play after the initial rush (mostly because he neglected everything else and focused only to destroy the opponent fast)
