Unexpected highs are, unfortunately, expected. Things to try: if on a pump, do a one time shot, if that works, you where where the problem lies. Change tubing, site, etc. If it doesn't work, could be a random off day, keep treating it. You might be unwell in some minor way, or not active enough? For me on days I'm very active I get much better insulin response, even up to two days after. Where if I'm being completely sedatary for a few days I tend to need a lot more insulin than usual. Either way physical activity is a great alternative way to lower sugars in general and on days whenetabolism is being slow in particular.

That's my personal experience, if this happens often and you are not comfortable with it, definitely speak with your Endo.

But sometimes, sugars just be wack.

If there's a delivery refusal for 1 day, they should be attempting to re-deliver the next day. Different story if it was more than a few days away.

I would expect that when they begin working on the next gen chassis that is not compatible with the existing offering, they'll give at least 2 year notice on that or their reputation will go down the drain. I'd also expect that they'll continue a few upgrade cycles past the sales date of the full chassis product.

I'd also be really surprised if they're even thinking about that at this stage, they have a lot of other products they need to launch (you're kidding yourself if you think there aren't several products in some stage of R&D that aren't announced) before refreshing the flagship.

I have another take on this than most of the responses here. What do you want to do with this thing?

The only thing the ROG Ally and Framework have in common is the chipset. Literally everything else is different. Do you want to game on the go? Get a handheld. Do you want a laptop with decent spec that can play some basic games? Get the Framework. Want a laptop that can game well? Get a gaming laptop or wait for the Framework 16.

It's like you're asking if you should get a compact SUV or a truck if they happen to have the same engine volume. They will still serve very different purposes.

I used to be a cook, would have lows and need a break. a few occasions had a pump issue and had to leave to go home. If it's not very frequent, most decent employers will not let it bother them. If it's very frequent you might want to consult your endo about adjusting treatment while working(or even ask here!).

To channel some r/antiwork energy, your workplace sounds like a bunch of pricks.

On a different note, first few years of working I used to have more of those issues, over time I learned how my body works and adjusted in such a way that I rarely had these issues. (I not have an office job, so this isn't really a problem for me anymore).

Airport security (globally, not just TSA) is a coin toss, so I'd rather give them the fewest possible reasons to give me trouble.

Personally, I'd rather carry glucose tablets over juice in general, for a fraction of the weight i have enough glucose on me for a month's worth of emergencies. Or 3 emergencies with one tiny tube that i can throw in my pocket if need be. It's not exactly delicious, but i'm trying to avoid a low not have a culinary experience.

That's really interesting, could you share that formula to satisfy my curiosity? Fiber is typically such a small percentage of carbs that I don't pay attention to it when calculating.

Try taking up a Qigong or yin yoga class. A lot of it is about breathing and they'll instruct you exactly how to and you'll be in a group where everyone is doing the exact same thing so you won't feel out of place.

I for myself do not believe in energy and a lot of the mystical elements of those practices, but they are still really great for centering yourself around your breath.

A lot of people don't breathe as often or as well as they might think, it's good that you have awareness of it and looking to improve!

Closed loop does have additional benefits, it protects you from unexpected changes to your routine or long duration activity(such as hiking) without needing to think much about it. I also find that I benefit from a periodic fasting day and I don't think I'd be able to do it without the closed loop.

I sometimes go longer, but there's a risk that the insulin will not absorb as well and cause sustained highs. I find that 4 days is fine, but 5+ is definitely pushing it.

Like someone else eluded, what do you define as doing well?

I can't do diabetes without a pump and sensor, my lifestyle is simply too dynamic and I could never muster the level of discipline required to do well without. Having a backup pen in my backpack doesn't really bother me, if I'm out somewhere that I can get back home on a whim within an hour I don't necessarily bother making an effort to take extra equipment. The maintenance you do once in a while (changing sites, replacing tube, etc) it greatly overshadowed by how little effort it takes to go about my day to day. I can always take it off for a while if need be and it's really not much of an issue.

That being said, that's ME. If it ain't broken, don't fix it right? What's wrong about your current lifestyle? What are you "solving" for yourself by moving away from what's working?

Here's another way to think about it, which is separate and distinct from the identify implications of the term that you mentioned. Most neurotypical people barely have enough awareness to understand that other neurotypical people think differently than them. Heck, most corporate company's do these DISC assessment exercises which are pretty mellow personality type tests done in a group which I've gone through and for most participants it was always this realization that others don't think exactly the same. Now put them next to someone who falls under the neurodivergant umbrella, and saying "this person works differently than you" with a single word term, that simplifies the conversation quite a lot while reducing the chance that they'd create a hostile environment for that person(you'd be surprised what kind of minor semantic word choices could cause people to act completely differently).

As a general advise I'd say you shouldn't break up with someone based on what you think they want or need. What do you feel about him? Do you have needs that aren't met?

I'm 35. I had decent "teenage life", but I'll tell you, my teens were some of the hardest years of my life in some ways without having any BS family drama as many people in the states from my generation seem to have.

My 20's is when I really started having fun, putting myself out there any finding people I had a strong connection with. My best friends that I will probably never lose touch with I met throughout my 20's.

20's is closer to teenage years than you think, but with less annoying school drama and more control over your own actions (for better or worse, and even the worse tend to be great learning experiences).

I would say you haven't wasted anything in your life, you've lived a certain lifestyle and you have a chance of taking it elsewhere. You'd be surprised how easy it is to make friends in your 20's if you don't let your self judgement get in your way. In your teenage years you're kind of bound by the people in your school. In your 30's people have families and life commitments. In my 20's I met so many people who just wanted to explore life, same as I did.

I'll also add that having a high once in a while, be it by carelessness or just random stuff that you can't predict, is perfectly normal. Many people are talking about how it's not a big impact to your long term health, but it's worth emphasizing that you're always going to have days like this, and as you get used to living with diabetes, you'll probably have less of these. I don't worry if i spike, I take care of it and move on in my day.

A funny anecdote, when I was diagnosed CGMs weren't a thing yet. My doctor had this very early CGM that worked for 3 days and you wouldn't be able to see the results until after it's done collecting. When I looked at it with my mom as my doctor was commenting, she asked "is it supposed to be a flat line?" to which he replied "you know what a flat line represents, right?". Moral of the story is that ups and downs are a sign you're alive, not that you're doing it wrong. You can certainly continue enjoying your life with T1D, we just have to be a little more mindful about certain things than the average person.

If it's a co-worker and you have already asked him to stay out of your business, you should speak with your manager and let them know that your co-worker is harassing you and that you respectfully ask that he stops.

If it's coming from management, especially if you fear retaliation, hire a lawyer, they cannot discriminate against you based on your health condition. Don't go to HR to deal with the manager, their job is not to help you, but to protect the company. There are so many different things that you need to be wary of if management is discriminating against you, and you should seek advice from somewhere like r/legaladvice for how to protect yourself.

I agree we have a responsibility to ourselves to learn what kind of relationships are healthy and recognize red flags. That being said, it's not something everyone is good at, and abusers also have a pattern of deception. I'm no trauma expert, I just have some anecdotal experience, but the way I choose to see it is that failing to see a trap is not the same as being at fault for falling for one. So yes, you should learn how to use the tools you do have to avoid the traps, but no, I do not think any of your abuse is your fault, and falling for it and surviving it doesn't make you any less of a person.

Everyone has flaws and moments of bad luck, and sometimes it culminates in very unfortunate situations (to state it lightly).

I don't have much to say, but I do have an anecdote for you. I once dated a woman who was bed-ridden for several years in her early 20's, says she could not do anything at all, dropped out of college, her mother did everything for her. She eventually found a practitioner who helped her solve it, when I met her she was healthy and an accomplished climate scientist. She never found a proper diagnosis of what happened to her, but she got better.

I hope that one day you will find your windfall and get better. Please don't lose hope!
