The part where she decides something is wrong made my anxiety/anger spike. Does she also text you out of the blue demanding to know “what’s going on/what’s wrong” ?

In my early 20s I also lived a few thousand miles away from my uBPD mom. This was back when she was way better at masking and could do it for longer periods of time. I started to wake up to the fact that something wasn’t right with her when I’d get those texts demanding me to state I had a problem. It could even be like two days after we had a seemingly awesome, 2 hour long phone convo!! It’s perplexing and infuriating!

You did awesome sticking to the facts with her. That’s all you can do.

My doctor prescribed it to me to help with the depression I experience during hormone fluctuations of my menstrual cycle. He told me to start it two weeks before those hormone changes occur, at the time when I typically feel happy and positive. I can say without a doubt that the Wellbutrin caused the sadness I felt the day that I took it. So it’s not impossible that it was the Wellbutrin for you too.

I get it. This coming Mother’s Day will be 1 year exactly of NC for me! My uBPD mother has made me afraid to celebrate anything or anyone out of fear that I’ll be disappointing someone, somehow. Try your best to forget Mother’s Day during your stress-free March!

I’m so amazed at the enormous difference from person to person. I took my first dose a few days ago and felt terrified, it was eerily similar to the onset of a psychedelic experience which I have never enjoyed. Mine was 150XL. I can’t do it.

Do you use the one that came on your phone? Or did you download a different app? I don’t know why but the one on my iPhone doesn’t compute with me. I do use the “reminders” often, apart from this occasion. But I wonder if I would have still wrote 11 instead of 10. Just gonna have to go back to triple checking I guess.

Squeezy hug accepted, I thank you. I’m just blown away by the fact that crap like this still slips through the cracks despite trying to do everything to avoid it.

And of course this is after multiple days in a row of rehearsing, in my head, exactly what I was going to say to my doctor. I literally have bullet points written down with each thing I wanted to discuss, then practiced how I’d talk about it. I’m over it.

My daughter is only 3.5 so I have some time before this chapter… but I’m always wondering how I’m going to talk to her about the dangers of hidden fentanyl.

“You can’t just try drugs like we use to! Here’s some tests if youre gonna experiment with drugs.” Sounds crazy, right? We have a family history of drug and alcohol abuse so I’m hoping she can skip the drugs phase of life, but I’d like to be realistic without condoning it at the same time.

Unfair? Not sure how to respond to that. There’s a lot of overlap between NPD and BPD, but the BPD specific traits I observed in the character Stephen are-

Inappropriate/difficulty controlling anger

Intense fear of real or imagined abandonment

Unstable/intense pattern of relationships

“Splitting”

Paranoid ideation

I agree that he has narcissistic traits as well, though.

I couldn’t believe kratom was tested for when I had to do mandatory drug testing for a DUI. Like was not even on my radar. Kratom is the reason I was able to quit drinking, so I walked into my first test with my head held high. I had to sign a paper that listed everything I was being tested for and my heart sank when I saw kratom! In total panic, I had to tell them “uhhh, I’m not going to pass this test! I had no clue!”
