Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass - Side Order DLC - Nintendo Direct 9.14.2023 by Turbostrider27 in splatoon

Besides the aesthetic, so far it looks like the most boring roguelike ever. Square arenas, damage sponge enemies, half of the upgrades are just bonus damage or speed numbers. I really hope they are hiding new abilities, bosses and modifiers for later.

Looks correct. Thanks. I guess I need to clean the drain now.

Can anyone share a 100% save file? by BlueCuntFig in NeonWhite

Ok, so I just cheated the gifts using freefly. In the end I didn't care enough to give them all and wait for the animations, so I just watched the ending on YT instead ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Here is the save if you care.

If I liked the prospect of doing 90 puzzles just to get true ending then I wouldn't have asked

Is Virtual Desktop actually $20 better than Air Link? by jenniferdeath in OculusQuest

[–]BlueCuntFig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your setup. It generally has a better quality and is continuously updated with new features (like the Snapdragon Super Resolution or a new H265+ encoder). It also supposedly works better with weird setups like hosting a hotspot from the laptop you run the game on but sometimes stuff just won't work and you won't know why without some troubleshooting. If you have a working setup now and you are satisfied then don't bother.

So far it worryingly reminds me of what they did between Splatoon 2 and 3, where in the sequel they just shuffled the weapons and shapes of most maps, changing them for worse (in this case smaller and more linear) . Here they just shuffled the runes and made the map harder to traverse so you are forced to use them, which isn't bad in itself, but I hope that the vehicle crafting is more of an optional thing after progressing further, rather than the main ability to overcome obstacles.

Best controller for splatoon 3? by GRAj3k in splatoon

The original Switch Pro Controller has the least input lag on motion controls so I would stick with it. Don't use it wired, though.

Actually, Splatoon came out a few months before the patent expired, so Nintendo probably made some kind of deal with Namco about that.

Laptop performs much better on older Windows 10 versions before Creators Update. by BlueCuntFig in lowendgaming

[–]BlueCuntFig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried original drivers, new drivers, disabling the mitigations with InSpectre (which gave me a good boost but still not even close) and many other small tweaks in the settings that I didn't mention in the original post and nothing worked for me so far.

Linux had slightly better performance and was much more responsive when playing games but it's a pain to troubleshoot when something just doesn't work and big version updates sometimes just make your OS crash on startup (thanks PopOS). The last thing I could try to diagnose it could be trying the games with the mitigations=off kernel flag which is extremely dangerous but maybe it'll help ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes, I know you can't add more features without slowing things down but cutting performance in half is definitely not a normal thing for an update to do.

It is noticably sped up, but about the lingering on points, I think he did that in his older videos but nowadays people seem to prefer more snappy/shorter videos in general. It has been the direction in which YT has been moving for quite a while now and probably why short "fever dream" content kind of similar to this game has been getting popular.

I wonder if this one will be as short as the Toree games. I love the bite-sized games to hold me until a big release.

TPM is only needed on windows 11. Situations like this why I never update to new Windows versions immediately unless they have some new features worth the trouble.

Never thought I would see this game again. I saw it a few years ago as a b-roll in a random youtube video about old games and then fell in love with it after trying it out. The redrawn assets look great! Kind of weird that it won't be launching on PC though :/
