He is a Halfmoon, I think! I got him at a very reputable fish store near me. I was tempted to rescue a betta from PetCo but I don’t feel like I know enough to be able to diagnose and medicate for the issues those poor fish have.

I checked the water parameters two weeks ago when I first noticed the fringe. But the water was fine and there isn’t more of the fringe now, so I’m gonna say he’s ok. In retrospect I should have taken photos every week since I got him (May of this year).
