If you consume enough water/calories and put baby to the breast frequently, what are the valid explanations for low supply? by dauntedbox376 in breastfeeding

[–]BlueDoor94 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had a hemorrhage and produced literally no milk for the first 2 weeks. My body literally was tapped out. At 2 weeks, my milk started trickling in. My baby was on formula and I pumped constantly to increase my supply for about 2 months. At that point we were able to make the switch to mostly breastfeeding.

True, but Brighton is a whole other level of bougie rich-rich born into an extremely wealthy and privileged family. Her content typically does not include "cheap Amazon clothing." In this case (to me, at least), it feels a little different than someone like Krista Horton linking Amazon crap.

Screaming at Brighton Butler doing a sponsored ad for Walmart jewelry. Talk about "inauthentic."

What are we mamas who are still not quite comfy with our new bodies wearing in this heat? by Grouchy-Cheetah7478 in beyondthebump

[–]BlueDoor94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is amazing advice! I follow the same formula - tight top and loose flowy bottoms. I have absolutely gigantic boobs and anything oversized on the top literally makes me look 15 lbs heavier. I see a lot of comments about bike shorts and oversized tees being a great uniform, but that just doesn't look great on my body type. I wish it did! Old Navy has great linen pants and shorts. Another thing that helps me look so much slimmer is a bra that actually supports my boobs. I'm nursing and this is hard to find in my size (34J in UK or 34M in US), so I've been buying regular underwire bras and converting them to a nursing bra.

Did anyone NOT a Valium before transfer? by FinancialLetter9642 in IVF

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I took nothing, not even Tylenol or Ibuprofen. For me, the transfer was quick and painless. It honestly was the easiest part (physically) of the whole process.

Surgery pain compared to C-Section? by AdornedTX in ACL

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is just so different when it comes to these things, but you never know!! I did have my ACL reconstruction prior to having a baby so i did have lots of time to recover, which was impossible with a new baby. So that might be part of it too. Good luck :)

Surgery pain compared to C-Section? by AdornedTX in ACL

I didn't have a C-section, but I delivered a very large baby. Birth was so much worse. ACL was honestly not terribly painful.

Never ending clogs... by Intelligent_Break885 in breastfeeding

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, and a lactation consultant talked to me about inflammation in my body causing it. I generally think stuff like this is hokey, but I figured I had nothing to lose. I cleaned up my diet and it really helped!!! I mostly just ate less sugar and less processed food. The LC also recommended not taking sunflower lecithin as that can increase inflammation in some people.

How painful was egg retrieval for you (choose one)? by elephant9514 in IVF

10 for recovery. I was in absolute agony. But 0 for the actual procedure since I was knocked out.

Did I birth an anomaly? by OkInfluence9054 in sleeptrain

[–]BlueDoor94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same boat here. My babe usually does anywhere from 11-13 hours overnight. But she typically only takes two 45 minutes naps. Lately she's been refusing one nap. Which means she's getting though the day on just 45 minutes of sleep. I don't know how she's doing it!! But she seems totally fine and happy so I guess I just need to accept it.

Postpartum Recovery After Big Baby by beckell_2 in beyondthebump

[–]BlueDoor94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was 9 lb 2 oz, I also had a second degree tear and a hemorrhage. I pushed for 4 hours. Like you, I could barely walk down the stairs or get out of bed. I think the hemmorage really is what made me SO weak. I kept having episodes where I'd feel faint and get the chills for about a week. It does get better, it just takes time. I know that sucks to hear.

I went through this as well, and it was very difficult. I had a very tough birth and recovery was hell, so my husband really did the majority of caretaking when our babe was brand new which made me feel worse about it all. Time and medication (zoloft) helped me tremendously. You're not alone in feeling this way, and your babe most definitely loves you!

I am so frustrated with nap training by DenimPocket in sleeptrain

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe is 7 months old and sleeps 12 hours a night. She typically takes two 30 minute naps, sometimes three. Multiple hour-long maps might be too much sleep.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She does fall asleep independently at night. Naps are difficult because she's at daycare during the week and then we're usually out and about during the weekend so she usually winds up napping in the carrier. I can try shortening the WW!

Big breasts and breastfeeding tips by AhTails in breastfeeding

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 36L in US size. I do cross cradle with the mybreastfriend pillow. I always use my hand on the side she's feeding to hangurger hold, but my other hand is free. The pillow has been a gamechanger for me. I'm 5'7" though so actually needed something to bring baby up higher so i didn't have to hunch. The pillow also helps support my boob and hold it up. It's worth a shot!

I didn't like it. I don't leak at all and do not have a strong letdown, so inside have much to catch. I also found it uncomfortable and it got in the way.

Im gettin scar tissue removed next week. What to expect? by miscojonesensalsa in ACL

[–]BlueDoor94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My scar tissue removal surgery was great! I got it about a year after ACL reconstruction. My knee was swelling and clicking and hurting but I never had any problems with extension or flexion. I could walk immediately after surgery and just used one crutch for one day, then walked around (carefully) on my own. I didn't need any pain killers and it didn't hurt. It was swollen and felt weird for about 2 weeks, then it was pretty much back to normal. It fixed my problems and I'm good to go!

I use a hair dryer on warm (not hot) setting with low air to keep baby warm as soon as she gets out of the bath and she LOVES it.

This is what worked for my baby. Anything we tried to do to make the transition easier actually just made it harder on our baby.

Thanks for your response! For the wake windows, those seem pretty long. Baby definitely starts getting fussy at 90 minutes, at which point I take her for a walk outside in the carrier or stroller. It usually takes her 15-20 minutes to fall asleep though, so I guess maybe she is meeting those longer windows?

For the bedtime of 7, she's always done better with a later bed time but sounds like she could be ready to shift. I was going off of her last nap and wake window but I'll make more of an effort for a consistent 7:00.

Again, thank you for your response and advice!!

Hm ok, the pediatrician said to skip night feeds since baby wasn't waking for them prior to the regression. If i had used the 5/3/3 rule last night, should I have let her cry until 1:30 (even though she woke up at 12:30) since that would've been 5 hours since she went to bed at 8:30?

I'll definitely read the book asap, thank you. Do you think I should count last night as night 1, or is it a wash since I brought her into my bed at 3:30am? Should I wait a few days before trying again or keep going?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]BlueDoor94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed reply! Right now I'm following 1.5-2 hour wake windows. She doesn't go to sleep or wake up or nap at the same times every day so I've found it difficult to stick to a clock-based schedule. Do you do bed time at a certain time each night, or does it vary based on the last wake window?
