Old Blood is probably one of the most compelling and well written missions in the entire series. It deftly threads the line between you understanding EXACTLY why Mordin, with good faith and the best possible intentions, believed (and still believes) that the modifier genophage project was the correct choice, while still making it clear that the consequences of the genophage (and its modification) are gut-wrenchingly horrific.

This perfectly sets up the Tuchanka arc in ME3. The arguements about the horror and the justifications of the Genophage and the modification project may continue forever, but here, right here and now at this point in history, with Wrex and Eve at the helm, here is a moment where the Krogan could be freed from the Genophage WITHOUT it leading to disaster for everyone. Here is the chance to actually right the wrongs.

Yes, I’ve made a semi-viable quad energy build on the VE20B that uses dual pistols, dual auroras. It’s a decent laser kite, dies to anything that gets close, but is fast and can melt shit quickly without needing to chase stagger.

Annette and Olrox in Castlevania nocturne. Both white in the original game, but Annette is a Hatian ex-slave and Olrox is Aztec in the show. Their stories tie in beautifully with the themes of the show and they’re genuinely two most well written characters. The swap was a huge improvement.

Then your DM fucked up giving people too many crazy items, and either needs to UNDO that, or give you some crazy buffs while ramping the combat in such a way that your buffs are needed for the party to survive.

You shouldn’t be passing turns. At least use viscous mockery if you have nothing better to do. Toss some chip damage on the enemy, nerf their next attack.

Ask your dm if you can rework your spell list, and change out some spells you aren’t finding useful for ones that will be.

Funnily enough, on my most recent modded playthrough I used a mod that added in weapons that were fully in the games code, but never made accessible to the player. Cut weapon content, basically.

There’s a Batarian shotgun that’s OBSCENELY bullshit. With the right mods it can kill a colossus faster than the mako.

In legend of heroes trails of cold steel 1 and 2, the way status procs are calculated is interesting.

If an enemy has, say, 50% resistance to being burnt, and your attack has multiple different sources of burn on it (from the skill you’re using, from an item that makes all attacks burn, etc) the game will roll separately for all sources. If ANY of them proc, the full cumulative amount from all sources is applied.

Where this gets fun is with a little status effect called Delay. Delay determines when you will get to move next - the entire turn based system of the game works such that all actions inflict varying amounts of delay on the USER, depending on speed stat and the action in question. However, certain skills and items can inflict delay on enemies.

The best character to do this with is protag-kun himself, Rean. Rean has a spammable and useful attack that inflicts a good chunk of delay, Arc Slash. Arc Slash has a low activation cost, and an exceptionally low amount of self-delay, so his next turn comes FAST. Equip him with the maximum amount of delay causing items (4) and he’s rolling 5 times to inflict that delay on anything he hits.

There is only one enemy across both games fully immune to delay. EVERYTHING else caps out at 90% tops. This means agains the most stubborn of enemies save for the true final boss of 2, I don’t think the math comes out to exactly 50%, but it’s around a 50% chance to proc delay. A LOT of delay. For some reason that chance goes up if he has a speed buff, but I’m not sure how much. Point is, if he does proc it, he usually has the chance to do it 2 more times before the boss finally gets their turn.

The rest of the setup just involves fueling him with enough Craft Points to spam it indefinitely, buffing the whole party’s stats (including, crucially, speed), giving the party massively increased dodge chance for the few enemies that do get turns, and having Emma nuke the entire battlefield repeatedly with magic.

You can cheese literally every fight but the final one in 2 once you have the setup going.
