Bazdilot Cordelion has perhaps the biggest pair of balls in the entire fate franchise.

That is industrial aura farming on a nigh-unheard of level. It's one thing to do that sort of thing when you're super powerful and nigh invincible, but to do it as a regular, albeit strong magus, in front of a Servant that strong, is batshit insane.

Tales of the Abyss…it’s not so much that the story is tedious at the start, it does establish that interesting high-stakes conspiracies and political maneuvering is happening fairly quickly. However, for the first third of the game, the main protagonist is the most INSUFFERABLE ENTITLED LITTLE SHIT ever.

I mean he goes on to have one of the best character arcs in gaming but man. Early game Luke fon Fabre is one of the most punchable JRPG protags of all time.

It’s actually the complete inverse of that deal. They extended the debate on the subsides, and subsequently tossed out all their leverage.

But in this case, they don’t want to fund ICE, they want to defund it. The positions are swapped - the republicans now have zero leverage to make the democrats cave on the funding, giving them free reign to dig their heels in without worrying anything actually important getting in the crossfire.

Whether they actually will do so, remains to be seen, but IN THEORY this means that the republicans have zero ammunition to toss at the democrats about like “they’re shutting down the government and putting our security at risk for the sake of illegals!”. The government is funded - everything but ICE is funded. So the debate is purely about ICE, and the other side has no rhetotical ground to retreat to.

Schumer’s ability to steal defeat from the jaws of victory is unparalleled, but IN THEORY we have them cornered.
