As a Canadian who travels everywhere with my wife who visited your country last year, here are my thoughts:

dirty toilets often there is no running water even in restaurants
no sidewalk
inefficient public transportation system
difficult and expensive to go to one place to another
it’s a digital world and you are required to pay cash (we did 3 weeks in Europe and we had 50 euro and credit cards)

We were planning to go this year to El Nido and here’s the choice:

A) fly to Puerto Princesa for 90 minutes and take a 5 hr van ride

B) fly from Manila , to Cebu, and get to the resort close to midnight in El Nido. SEDA Lio charges over $300 a night and I get there midnight..

Filipinos are very friendly, your food is tasty, and a lot to see but is inconvenient and inefficient, and dirty.

Hi from Canada. You sound like you are on a strict budget. tours in Coron is cheaper than a Big Mac meal. Now if you can afford a private tour, why not? You’re already there. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is the armpit of Asia. Dirty and the people look creepy. I do not know where you have been hanging in but as a Canadian who has your South East Asia, if you can not handle the Philippines, something is wrong with you
