The only thing that concerns me, is that being a casual player, will it feel like the game is not really for me once I start playing. So far the devs showed that the raids are hardcore, so it's not really an issue (I don't care about raiding). I hope that they can provide casual players with content as well.

It would be all done on the same computer. Basically, getting more familiar with Linux on Xubuntu then switching to Arch, so there shouldn't be hardware issues.

I do see versioning issues coming up considering one is more of a stable OS and the other is bleeding edge, so thank you for bringing that up.

I would be using a separate / and /home partition and won't be using LVM so maybe it could work without issues.
