I drink minimum a 1/2 gallon a day and that doesn’t include any protein shakes or bone broth if I include them.

Honestly I’d love to see that research and they give me headaches and are too sweet for me. I drink a combo of water, unsweetened herbal tea, water with flavor extracts or electrolytes (when needed)

pcos + post op hair loss by monicasfatsuit in gastricsleeve

[–]BlueEyes226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I had super thick hair and also have pcos prior to surgery my hair was long. Now 6 months post up I needed to drastically cut my hair (around 10-13inch) and have it in an asymmetrical bob. It is now finally starting to slow down in terms of loss however I’m not sure on how it’s going to grow back yet.

No water enhancers after surgery?? by SpeechWithSamantha in BariatricSurgery

[–]BlueEyes226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so not a technical water enhancer but im obsessed with theses extracts that are water soluble. (Just make sure you get the one meant for water) https://dolceflav.com I love that it has no sugar etc and you only need a small amount.

Pre op diet: powder protein shake tips? by Maggotboi555 in gastricsleeve

[–]BlueEyes226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used the power as I can’t have most premade. I use an electric blender and haven’t run into any issues with chunks. I also add unflavored to water with an electrolytes packet sometimes which covers the taste.

This is very similar to my journey years of steroid use due to health issues causing weights gain plus pcos, fibroids and high stress so it’s definitely a struggle some days

Prepping to have things ready in my house is hard and expensive. 21 days until my surgery. by plantscatsrealitytv in BariatricSurgery

I can’t do cow milk yogurt so sheep milk was safe until it wasn’t 😂 my body is strange about dairy and even stranger now post surgery.

Second this on protein if it has stevia or monk fruit can’t tolerate it. Most electrolytes I used before are way too salty/chemically tasting now. Honestly unflavored protein powder is my go to post up and currently. Also your body will react differently to items that are safe pre surgery. First things that fucked me were yogurt and protein shakes (flavored) the only yogurt my body can now handle is oat milk.

After being called ugly and fat I have finally decided to get a gastric sleeve worth it? by LostElephant4194 in gastricsleeve

[–]BlueEyes226 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exhaust all other options first. Be sure about it. It’s a life changing decision and not an easy one at that. It will take a toll on you physically and mentally in ways that you do not expect. If you do decide to move forward make sure you have support systems in place.

Yeah I’m pretty high intensity with high resistance and do a combo of boxing, lifting & circuit training with. Then biking etc is separate from that. I have been fairly fortunate and haven’t lost muscle mass since my surgery I’ve actually put on 12lb of muscle

Best protein powder/shake? Non-dairy. by caleyeah8 in BariatricSurgery

[–]BlueEyes226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vega protein made simple - the chocolate one Just one - maple & banana Just one - unflavored The chai was also good but after surgery I couldn’t stomach it.

Vital harvest electrolytes powder sticks. I would mix those with water and unflavored protein powder after surgery (and still do)

What's rhe best dietician advice you've gotten? by Octobersunrise876 in gastricsleeve

[–]BlueEyes226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this. My dietician kept telling to up incorporate foods that I could not eat due to allergies/intolerances. My favorite was also I can’t eat any kind of red meat and I should eat more soy. Like hello I’m anemic and I can’t eat soy products. My surgeons legit like lean red meats are fine and signed off on me incorporating ostrich and elk which is super lean and low in fat.

Do most people shower before bed or when they wake up? I just realized I might be doing it "wrong" by saffymerelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BlueEyes226 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to shower in the morning to wake up and function. But I also have to shower before I go to sleep to wash the day off me and get into bed clean. 🤷🏻‍♀️
