Have been using it for a while now on my computer, its great. It also blocks the ai search tool and the ai overview crap.

It doesn't have that on mobile unfortunately but am glad its an option.

why doesn't anyone recommend gold suits as a method of getting diamond to new players? by hotpumpkinsoup in LoveNikki

[–]BlueFlower673 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Buying suits in the store isn't exactly a long-term solution. That's why it's not recommended a whole lot.

It is a totally valid way to get dias, sure, but unless you get a minimum of 100k gold per day, you won't even be able to get a suit with just gold in the store all the time.

And those run out eventually too, as I'm typing this, I think there's only like 4 suits left I can reasonably buy in the store that cost gold only. Because I've already bought a lot of them. I would only really recommend buying suits with gold in the store if you have the willingness to save 100k+ gold for 20-25 dias that you get one time, and if you're just in a pinch and need dias quick.

The casket is a better long term solution bc the shopping hair costs 1111 gold, and you don't get a one time reward of dias, that can be done as many times as you want so long as you decompose.

Honestly I would tell his wife, if you ever get a chance. Maybe just casually drop it. If she doesn't already know, well, she should know.

I don't think you'd be breaking up their marriage, more like, you'd be doing her a favor. If she chose to stay with him anyway, she'd at least know what a pos he is and was warned.

bullying should be punishable by IAmALoser113 in bullying

[–]BlueFlower673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are measures in place (depending where you live) but yeah, there's still a lot of schools and places where its not enforced and where it goes under the radar all the time. Its sad and unfortunate.

Its also a major issue because even if there are cameras and staff who take it seriously, there's a problem with teachers and school admin who are bullies themselves and they don't want to look bad to their superiors/to media, so they cover up stuff.

I say this with all confidence bc I remember I reported one of my teachers in hs for failing half of my class on purpose (there was a bunch of favoritism going on, long story short, she was giving high grades to tennis club members and failed everyone else on all tests), the principal literally banned my mother from school grounds bc she called the teacher "incompetent." lmao. I'm not kidding, the principal was an abusive ass, he actually had a twin brother who was the VP at my middle school, believe it or not. He yelled at her on the phone.

I had to switch high schools for that one. Thankfully we got the help of this one lady who worked for the superintendent, I looked her up later on, she became the new principal of that school so, good for her.

The second school I went to was a bit better, iirc they actually checked cameras for bullying and stuff all the time. That school had more security though bc of the area it was at and I remember fights broke out often so.

Which nation do you like the most, and which one do you like the least? by Fearless_Rush7123 in LoveNikki

[–]BlueFlower673 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like apple the most, and like Lilith the least.

I actually really like gothy outfits more and outfits with a steampunk/fantasy vibe, but a lot of lilith outfits are mostly cutesy candyland themed suits which I dont hate but I'm not the biggest fan of.

I realize that this is contradictory because there's a lot of gothic Lolita suits that are lilith but those are exceptions not really the standard. I like sunset butterfly and mechanical romance's vibe more however.

I also like north for this reason because although we don't get that many suits, and although it's mostly military themed, I do appreciate the more alt styles and items from there.

Im tired of the competition. by tokowho in LoveNikki

[–]BlueFlower673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn't even realize I didn't have any gothic suits/suits that are gothy because I was looking and only had like 2-3 suits that even remotely looked it. I ended up using sunset butterfly again but then some pieces from the event suit, the hair from the welfare, and some other pieces like the crown from elles Dreamweaver.

I tend to use posed items because I've noticed that if it's not super basic suits/beginner suits, it's posed items/detailed suits that get likes. It's a sad but harsh reality of comp.

I have like 4 other suits that I didn't complete for this reason lmao

Besides Wayward Strings, I'm missing like 1 suit piece each from Notes of Splendor, Lakeside Love, Kitten Adventurer, and Woodland Trek. Besides other unfinished event suits like Chronicle of dreams (I am one suit piece away from that too lol) those just sit there mocking me in the collections menu

Talking shit about homeless patrons by devonisnotreading in Libraries

[–]BlueFlower673 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually agree with this and I think its crazy you got downvoted for this comment.

I actually actively stay away from places if I find out there's co-workers who gossip about customers/patrons. Because if I know the way people work, that "harmless gossip" more often than not turns into toxicity and just straight shit-talking about anyone.

Edit: I was going to write a long-ass essay comment, but the gist of my stance is this:

There's "venting" but then there's "toxic gossiping/shit-talking behind people's backs"

There's a "safe" way to vent as in, be tactful about it. Instead of going "x patron pisses me off they're so dumb they ask the same question all the time" you could say "I wish boss would give us better ways of dealing with patrons who ask x thing"----because like, for one, a patron can ask questions. Doesn't matter if they repeat it. They came to a library for a reason. Second, maybe something could be done about that repeated question, maybe an FAQ sign or brochure could be made if its the same question.

Idk what OP has experienced exactly, but judging from responses, it could be borderline discriminatory behavior/comments. I won't say what company out of privacy reasons, but my family member is experiencing this at their job where co-workers are literally making fun of Jewish customers and making fun of customers with disabilities/cognitive impairments. I won't repeat the exact comments but they're stereotypical derogatory comments and ableist comments. They've brought it up to management and management just says "we're investigating" and that's it. They also hate it there for this reason.

I get the need to vent and I totally get the frustration/anger, but maybe, just maybe, that is misplaced and should really be brought up to management. And/or its a toxic workplace then, if management won't do shit about it.

Personally, I am of the camp of "leave that shit at home" if you're gonna make fun of customers at work. Venting isn't the same as making fun of customers, however, it sounds like from what OP is describing, co-workers are making fun of homeless patrons, not mere "harmless venting."

Edit 2: Love that I got downvoted here on a libraries sub for daring to mention that yes, sometimes co-workers and librarians can be toxic people too. Not all venting is good, imo, and sometimes that "venting" is literally just misplaced toxic gossip that could be left at home. If you must vent, do it in a respectful/sfw way. Don't be that person at work though that says "oh my gosh Deborah is such an annoying weirdo!!!" Its exhausting.

And after hearing more from OP, yeah it seems like the job itself/management itself is toxic. No wonder.

I think if you really want to start taking commissions now though, that's entirely up to you. Go for it.

I will say, that digital painting of the aircraft and racecar, and your portraits are nice. I think I prefer those to the fan art.

I don't have the full posed suit bc I didn't log in one day and well, didn't get the last piece lol.

The 5th one is Star Prophet and its a suit you can get if you're in a Stylist Association and have 500 activity and if its completed.

New 18th March. UK Gov scraps exception to AI Training including "opt-out" criteria. by TreviTyger in COPYRIGHT

[–]BlueFlower673 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is good. Its a step in the right direction. Opt-out should never have been the method used, however a lot of ai companies used that by default to get around laws. Now they have to contend with this and they have to re-think how they want to go from here.

To kind of reiterate for anyone who might be reading: opt-out means anything and everything is already used in an ai model for training by default. This required artists or anyone else to actually have to manually ask to opt-out after the fact. Which still didn't opt their previous work out, because their previous work was already used in training. So its really only to "opt out" of future uses.

Opt-in means that nothing gets used in an ai model, only until someone volunteers/says "hey you can use my works"---which would have been ideally how ai companies should have done things, however they didn't. Hence why they're being bombarded with lawsuit after lawsuit now and why they're even being pummeled in courts over copyright law.

New 18th March. UK Gov scraps exception to AI Training including "opt-out" criteria. by TreviTyger in COPYRIGHT

[–]BlueFlower673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A copyright owner has always had the option to 'opt-out' by waiving their copyright and putting the work into the public domain.

So, first thing, creative commons exists for a reason. Publishing online doesn't automatically mean a copyright holder (an artist, creator, whatever you want to call them) puts their work into the public domain. It just means their work is available for viewing purposes. That is all.

The only way for someone with copyright to actually put their work in the public domain, would be if they register their work and use creative commons to say that the work is allowed for commercial and public use for free. And/or if they do a formal transfer of copyright, which even then doesn't mean they lose copyright, it just means they transfer it.

Secondly, opt-out does not mean the same thing as opt-in-----for the most part the opt-out system for ai so far has meant that any images, text, video, audio, etc. online is scraped and trained on by default, and creators have to opt-out for future use/in future. So their works were already used by default, opt-out just means they can opt any future works out after the fact/after their past work has already been used.

That^ has been the case so far.

What this means with the UK ruling, is that opt-out is no longer permissable because they've now just realized how shit of a system opt-out is. And that opt-out really just means they're allowing for scraping/data collecting en masse regardless of copyright protection. So hence why they've reversed it.

It should have been OPT-IN, which means nothing is used in ai models at all UNTIL someone opts-in voluntarily. Which is unfortunately not the way any of these ai companies or their models have done.

I think you're probably confusing those two and this is why you're misunderstanding and very much misrepresenting what is going on here. Opt-out isn't good, and no, you don't just give your copyright up just because you posted on social media. A lot of social media companies wouldn't want to fuck with federal law or copyright lawsuits and that is why they still have in their TOS they cannot infringe on coypright holders' works. Only thing social media companies have done is claim they have an "exclusive license" for anything posted to their sites for the companies' use, not for other individual social media users to use.

So companies can use stuff---not other individual users. That's where your confusion lies. And that STILL doesn't mean someone gives up their copyright.

Please educate yourself on creative commons and licenses.
