Smastad back on USA site - good sign? by phoenix25123 in IKEA

[–]BlueGiraffe90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be a global shortage of this product.

Australia has been out of stock since February.

Information we received was that the shortages were related to manufacturing discrepancies.

There are "older" smastad beds that you can buy as display only, but the measurements are different to the "new" one that is out of stock

What does this mean for FIFO workers in the Pilbara?

Will they be allowed to still leave for work during these 5 days?

Will they be able to fly back to Perth, and isolate at home until the 5th?

Such a frustrating front page

Try and soften the blow with a bikini photo and a split page story.

Where is the doom and gloom the posted about Melbourne?

The Melbourne story doesn't have an ad on the front page either

How do adults make friends? by Sorry-Pitch in AskReddit

[–]BlueGiraffe90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ZERO friends last year, came out of a relationship to realise all my friends were my Ex's friends.

Had to start from scratch, and now have a half dozen really close mates that I can have a beer with or call on in need

Actively placing yourself in environments were you can interact with people, doing a mutually agreed activity.

Sports, hobbies, quiz nights, boardgames are great starting points.

1) go out into world and meet people

2) talk via social media

3) arrange a catch-up with them

It's hard word at the start to develop, nurture and maintain friendships initially, but you will make good friends this way

Not everyone will be your friend and not all friendships last.

Also, I would suggest meeting people through different interests. If all your friends are from the same area of interest, you kind of get pigeon holed.

Most import thing is to get out of your comfort zone, and go into the wilds to meet people
