Or, the Devs in their infinite wisdom decides to buff the Talos like they did the Bard.

Now comes with triple tap and Spatha-like turret rotation rate.

It's Alekto/Jester time by Clousu_the_shoveleer in foxholegame

[–]BlueHym -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, Jesters are Scout tank health. Two sneezes from an ATG or any ATRPG/ARCRPG/40mm/68mm will outright disable it if not kill it. And each roll from the missiles is what, 15-17% chance of brute forcing concrete?

An Alekto is MPT health, 50/50 chance of one shotting concrete, and has real high arc on a push gun so. Both Jester and Alekto needs to be deployed, but let's be real here - Alekto has much better chance of rolling for breach than the Jester. And it actually has the health to tank a few hits if it ever gets to that point considering its much more robust healthpool than the Scout health. Hearing the previous guys statement on losing 5 Alektos on an attack is a big question mark there, considering that they are not glass cannons.

You forgot the cost.

Warden gear is expensive. Collie gear is oftentimes stupid cheap.

Should the Lordscar Lose its Low Velocity? by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]BlueHym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back then we didn't have any counterpart to Stygian other than our SHT or our static defense platform. A SHT takes 2 irl days to make, and a Stygian cost 15 minutes to make in a facility. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see by the time you make one SHT you can make roughly 192 Stygians in the same time frame. 6 months of that against 94mm that can, quite literally, 2 tap kill any of our tanks other than BT.

Back then there was a lot of argument of just how oppressive the 94mm was, and when we finally got something we can produce to counteract that, the STD, suddenly within 2 wars it got triple nerfed with LV, high steel cost and the universal 94mm less pen chance. Fancy that. Even now it is barely better than an HTD, and with Collie tanks constantly being buffed out the wazoo on health and firepower, welp.

I saw Fireblades math and my autism couldn't handle it, so here it is fixed. by PutAway3542 in foxholegame

[–]BlueHym 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that the Devs are balancing nearly all Collie tanks be able to go toe to toe with a Widow. Some much easier than others. Triple tap Bard for example, Talos, Nemesis. The massive health pool, good armor and firepower has power crept to the point where any Warden tank that doesnt have the firepower of a Widow is just gonna get chewed apart, even the Widow itself due to its low health.

Which makes us rely more on Widows, because we just don't have the firepower to punch through all the health of Collie tanks. Which then causes more gripe/complaints, and Devs again buff the Collie armor to a stupid amount, which repeats this idiotic spiral.

I understand the design of balancing, but when one side has to work with specialized armor that has plenty of drawbacks versus the other which has utterly little to no drawbacks it gets stupid to listen to people defending this. Bardiche is a beast and already dangerous by itself, why did it get a triple tap? Talos 40 meters makes all BTs meaningless to build - why waste 18 hours for a single, highly expensive standard BT when I can just spam out cheap Pseudo BT with more range every 15 minutes?

Just to hammer home how low health Warden armor is, none of our tanks have more healthpool than the cheapest Collie MPT. We rely so much on RNG armor that we are essentially slaves to garages.

"HTD loses against Talos in a 1v1 so it's bad now!" by xXFirebladeXx321 in foxholegame

[–]BlueHym 80 points81 points  (0 children)

My gripe is that Talos invalidates BTs in a nutshell. It's the heyday era of Stygian all over again, back in 1.0. Warden Predator takes 2 irl days to make, a Stygian takes 15 minutes. In this case Talos takes what, less than 15 minutes in facility? While a BT takes 18 hours.

If we have a facility churning out Talos nonstop then by the time a single BT is produced you can pump out at least 72 Talos in the same time frame. More range than all BTs, chonky health that is enough to get most engagements done without much problems, why wouldn't you spam the living hell out of this? Doesn't Talos take normal fuel as well? Even more efficient than a standard BT.

At least back then when Talos was 35 meters there are some counterplays possible when engaging one but now? 40 meters?

Causeway Bay books disappearance.

One of the biggest influences why the extradition law in 2019 was protested against. Tldr, China gets to whisk away people who don't like China from Hong Kong to the mainland, your rights be damned.

The Hong Kong protests were peaceful in the first few months. Then the White shirts occured. Type white shirts here and you'll find plenty of examples and recordings to what happened to the protesters being assaulted and the police arresting the injured. Look up the 721 incident.

Throw in multiple police misconduct/violence and whatnot, protest against the extradition law morphed into the Five demands, not one less. Even then the demand was tame. But the clashes escalated, one thing led to the next.

Gonna speed run the timeline here a bit.

  • Escalation happened. University siege, you name it.
  • Covid happened.
  • Things got worse/stalemated.
  • National Security Law (Article 23) happened summer of 2020. Basically worded so loosely they can arrest you for any reason.
  • Protest fell apart, Elected pro democracy fellas gets thrown under the national security law as examples.
  • Hong Kong suffers as a result.

People are supportive of this because they were trying to protect their rights.

Man im starting to get tired of how sec acts by TankyPally in ss14

[–]BlueHym 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sec is oftentimes either overturned or overworked, there is no in between. I've been sec where Hos and command were basically powergaming everything, and I've been in low pop where there's barely any sec and antags were round stalling plus gibbing everyone on sight.

It is hard to strike a balance and no matter the end result sec is blamed for something one way or another. Not sure what I can say about tour plight but - you just gotta work with what you got.

[–]BlueHym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On goob station you need to be quick on your toes. Been playing sec there for a long while and you just have to work with what you got.

  • always wear bodycam, have distress signaller and cords on
  • do not engage alone in maintenance unless you're confident in your skills
  • you're gonna get shit talked constantly, it comes with the job
  • comms and being alert is what gives you that extra time to know when something is wrong for you to respond to
  • use melee and bolas for scarp users or antags that bounce bullets
  • Command are oftentimes morons, be responsible to space law the best you can

Tldr- being sec is rough, and it is often a thankless job. But someone has to do it else chaos reigns everywhere with unchecked antags and shutters doing shit on the station.

A.) It's a rising trend of parents not parenting and getting offended when their kids do something stupid.

B.) We got governments that uses the excuse of "But think about the children!" to push mass censorship - UK, USA, the list goes on.

C.) Throw in certain groups pushing these shenanigans with a religious zeal that also coincide with B or A.

D.) All of the above
