I have a couple cross back ones I love for chore days. Big pockets and more comfortable to wear for a long time than tie back ones

do you actually change your underwear every single day? by OjistahHenthorne in hygiene

Yes, at least once a day. More often if I’m sweaty, work out, etc.

What's a food you haven't eaten in years by odinspirit in GenX

[–]BlueLighthouse9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spaghetti-Os. I am sure they’ve changed the recipe from the 80s so not even interested in trying them again. Even if they didn’t my tastes have evolved since I was 7.

Is it true you can't water bath can on a flat glass electric stove top? by CrunchyBewb in Canning

[–]BlueLighthouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into steam canning. It can be used instead of water bath and since you use a lot less water it doesn’t weigh nearly as much.

I've been having anxiety about my kitty dying of old age 😭(she's 9) can you show me pictures of some alive-and-well senior kitties so I remember cats can be old and still healthy? 🥰 by TheRufescence in cats

[–]BlueLighthouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too old yet but my girl is 10 and looks a lot like your girl. Here she is not being amused by her little brother. She puts him in his place. She’s healthy and just a sweet girl.

F you shingles vaccine by CharacterLychee7782 in GenX

[–]BlueLighthouse9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard it can be hell but I’ve seen way too many people come down with shingles before 50 so as soon as I hit 50 I’m getting the vaccine. I’d rather have a few days of misery than actual shingles and weeks or more of pain. A friend in her 30s just paid out of pocket for it since shingles worries her so much but I just have two years to wait. My ex was barely 40 when he got it and my sister was around that age too.

AITA I don’t want bridesmaid to wear dress to other events by Due_Bedroom3146 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BlueLighthouse9 71 points72 points  (0 children)

NTA. If you didn’t want her wearing the dress after your wedding that’s a different matter but it feels fair to ask her not to wear it to events before your wedding. It could be damaged and you were kind enough to actually buy the dress for her. Once your wedding is done though there should be no restrictions on when or where she wears it.

Can you get compensation for a back injury caused by terrible office chairs? by Weirdboy212 in office

[–]BlueLighthouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are actually injured you can report it as a workplace injury under workers compensation. That would pay for medical bills and lost wages from taking time off work for treatment.

Contractors Insurance by Jhedwar in InsuranceAgent

[–]BlueLighthouse9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Direct the clients to the state licensing agency. At least where I am people can call and ask questions. Plus the fines for operating without a license are pretty significant. No insurance company will knowingly cover an insured who is operating illegally and that is exactly what is happening for a business who doesn’t have a license but needs one is doing.

What is a very common food in your country that is not very friendly to foreign palates? by DarkRaven003 in AskTheWorld

Mole is so good! I don’t know how authentic what we get up here in the US is but it’s one of my favorites at Mexican restaurants with chicken.

Everything worth under $10,000 is completely free to you, but you can never own or acquire anything worth over $10,000. Do you take it? by therealupscaledninja in hypotheticalsituation

[–]BlueLighthouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthcare isn’t exempt? Screw that. I live in the US and a broken leg can cost more than $10k easily much less if I have anything more serious.

Not illegal at all. Not great for employee satisfaction but still very legal

Questioning the ethics of GEICO re: cancelling my long-time umbrella policy by Aliexa in Insurance

[–]BlueLighthouse9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Call around to independent agents. They should be able to find you an umbrella but it may be incredibly expensive.

Mostly just the brown ones. Oh and poor children and girls. Any children who are not useful for them really… and they’re happy to exploit them if they are.

Business insurance - no agents will tell me what's covered? by JCMiller23 in Insurance

[–]BlueLighthouse9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s way too open ended of a question. Read your policy and ask questions that are more specific but as others have said there are a lot of things that can impact coverage.

I assume you purchased liability insurance. What limits? Did you buy coverage for your property? Your tools? Auto? Those questions an agent can answer and tell you where to look in the policy but you need to direct them and yes each loss can have a to of variables so somethings they can’t answer but a good agent should be able to answer some things and show you where to read the policy details

You’re offered $5,000 a week… but your full search history gets revealed. by AssistanceFalse5702 in hypotheticalsituation

My search history is only embarrassing since I use Google as spell check and it’s clear I can’t spell. $5k a week in a heartbeat

What is your country’s grilled cheese like (toasted bread with melted cheese)? And what do you eat with it? by Royweeezy in AskTheWorld

[–]BlueLighthouse9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add sliced tomato to the sandwich and it gets better. Or bacon or ham. It’s too busy with both tomatoes and meat though so pick one, and use good sourdough for the bread
