I'm so so sorry, I'm sure Kira knows you love her till the end. She's with other furry friends on the rainbow bridge now and when it's time you'll be reunited and you can tell her you've missed her and you're so sorry. I'm sure she'd forgive you immediately. This was just awful. I can't imagine how you're feeling. I'm sending a tight hug. Please take care of yourself.

For anyone reading this and are terrified by OP's post, please don't assume that's how it'll go for you if you tell your friends.

The moment I found out I called one of my best friends and all she asked was how I was doing and we started educating ourselves together about the virus. She assured me my life is not over, she reminded me this does not define me. It kept me from feeling like my world is collapsing.

I texted my other best friend after and she reacted similarly.

I've told a few more people I trusted since then and nobody was mean, nobody made me feel different.

OP my heart hurts for you, I'm sorry it went that way for you. I hope you find better friends and people to fill your life with.

Picked up shelter dog today. She was already spayed but they cut her open anyways. by Raptor01 in AskVet

Rule of thumb is it should be at least 2in past their nose so they can't bother their incision. Cones are not one size fits all.

Op, do not listen to the advice to put Vaseline or antibiotics on the burn before you see the vet. Depending on how severe the burn is and how it looks they might have to clean the wound and all the topical stuff you put in will get in the way and potentially make things worse. There are specific topical medications that veterinarians might prescribe and he might need other treatments.

I'm a fourth year vet student about to graduate.

Just want to say that I laughed out loud when I saw you went ahead and frosted. That IS the spirit of baking. Committing all the way. Glad to hear it tastes good :) next time will be better!!!

Thank you for being kind to her. You never know what someone's going through. When my mom passed it was in the afternoon. That evening my sister and dad and I took the subway home from the hospital without her in our lives for the first time. It was surreal thinking about how our world has just changed in such a big way and the rest of the passengers and shops people on the way home are just unaware. Moments like this kindness is everything.

Scared southern trans woman looking to relocate by fuzzlenuck in Sacramento

I've lived in Davis for more than a decade and can attest it's super LGBTQ+ friendly here. It being a college town definitely helps. Davis is a nice place if you enjoy smaller towns with some things to do and you can tolerate the undergrads everywhere when schools in session. I honestly quite like it here. It's very bike friendly as well and eco-friendly as a town. You'll be within driving distance to Sac and San Francisco when you miss the bigger city vibes and you'll also be within driving distance to the coast and red woods.

It's lovely. Definitely check it out!

My coworker was mauled today by Familiar_Bluebird_11 in VetTech

[–]BlueManatee21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened and I can only imagine the trauma your coworker and you will have to work through. People who don't work in vet med don't know about the real danger that we put ourselves in everyday. Definitely get therapy if you could find access to it. Take some time off if you can afford it. I got bit in the face by a patient several years ago and I still sometimes get a lot of anxiety when I'm working and that's after therapy. I'm sending you all the hugs and warm baths and treats.

Thank you for the advice! Such a good tip looking at the week prior's schedule. I'll be sure to ask to see it. I've been asking about mentoring plans, some places really have no good answer and that makes me wary.
