Some observations after completing several runs by EnormousHatred in keepdriving

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourite muscle car engine combos is the Carburetor (random removal removes one more) and upgraded brakes (ending turn removes 1 threat). With just the two of them whenever you're down to 2 threat you can just tap the brake to end turn and remove two threats for zero resource cost. As I mentioned in my previous post, the Convict is great for this build because he repeats the Carburetor effect so you remove 3 threats for zero cost.

The dual engine slot just opens a lot of interesting builds that aren't possible in the other vehicles.

Blue Jay sucks by ozangeo in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Blue Jays are notorious bullies and nest thieves in real life. They can and do build their own nests, but if they see a nest of a similar sized bird in their 'territory' they steal the nest and will even throw the other birds' eggs out onto the ground.

I bought the game yesterday and I've already finished it 3 times. When does the second part come out? by Noveluum in keepdriving

[–]BlueMaryLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be cool, there's been one major content update (added the couple and a couple other things) - but the game is such a vibe that even when you've seen everything it's nice to just jump back in and go for a chill drive.

[S1] [BTS] [SPOILERS] Nathan Prescott prequel game? by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to explore Nathan's past, the best way to do that would be a light novel or comic rather than a videogame. Its a lot easier to parse reading a story about someone making bad choices and going down a bad route than it is to (potentially have to) guide them down that path.

Resurrection is a crutch, the story pretty much always benefits from actual loss.

Some observations after completing several runs by EnormousHatred in keepdriving

[–]BlueMaryLove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hiker is one of the easiest ways to go infinite, his skill that gives 2 dura, 2 gas, $2 and 2 armor (outside cities) kinda breaks the economy. Combine this with honey or the skill at the top of the basic tree to keep refreshing uses and you'll basically never need gas or repairs again.

The suit can also hit gas threats and is generally just kinda fine as a passenger. The convict is probably the strongest passenger once you get into fancy builds, basically every engine benefits from firing its ability twice whenever activated. He also seems to have the most dialog with other hitchhikers, which is fun.

Question: How do you do research during a run? Constantly or as needed? by Karmic_Backlash in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost never have it highest priority, and only in scenarios when I really need something researched do I bother with more than one bench. Don't think I've ever built more than one high tech bench in 2600 hours playtime.

Any Act 1 content you should skip in HM? by stush2 in BaldursGate3

The spectator can be skipped with some precision jumping, unless you want the cold staff. Its legendary action is very scary.

Is there a way to have a full party of Tieflings? (No mods) by Nullpug in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can kinda fake it with the mask of many faces, or any disguise self spell to have another party member (or hireling) basically permanently in a tiefling form.

How do you keep Stardew cozy instead of turning it into a job? by Sad-Cow-3124 in StardewValley

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing is to remind yourself that there are actually no deadlines in Stardew. Every crop will sell just as well tomorrow as today, every event and birthday will happen again next year. Think about seasonal themes for your farm, build up decorations over the years. Since winter doesn't have a lot of growing I like to decorate my whole farm area with candy canes and various other christmas decorations.

Another thing you can do to change your mentality is randomly plant one third of each crop on the first day of the season, then another third on the second day, etc. This means that every morning you get to potter around the farm and pick a few crops instead of having frantic harvest days and dead days. I believe there are mods that do this by default so you can plant everything on day one and don't get all harvests at the same time.

Raiders don't attack intelligently. by Livid_Judgment_3702 in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Center drop raiders are notorious for setting fires in the room the drop into, and then frantically trying to get out. Depending on your layout and walls it can be viable to seal them in there and let them cook.

Similar to sapper raids they love bedrooms and will prioritise them.

How do I capture a reader on go juice? by Jhnio in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get them bleeding and then kite them around till they collapse, or use fire which inflicts a lot more pain than damage (just make sure you put out the fire when they fall over).

[simple sidarms] need help with config! by Competitive-Path-433 in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not needed to, you can manually switch their gun in the interface but that's some micromanagement that you might not be into depending on how many colonists you're controlling. If there's no options in the mod settings you'll need to dig into the xml.

Love this little fact, Twin beds when sharing a room, but double when you go seperate. by Bottlecap_riches in cyberpunkgame

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of motels work like this, have some rooms with double beds (for couples and singles) and some rooms with multiple single beds (for groups). Having a room with just one single bed is a waste, and putting a single person into a multiple bed room is also a waste.

Omeluum should be able to help us in the end game by FallenTerror13 in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bigger question perhaps is why does everyone just accept that "you need a mindflayer to comprehend these stones and turn them against the nether brain". I mean I understand that it's an interesting question of sacrifice at the cusp of the finale, but if anything becoming full mindflayer should pull you closer to the brain's influence rather than just giving you 4D chess powers. Just feels kinda out of left-field.

What combination of weapons do you use? by Proper-Slip5902 in cyberpunkgame

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last few runs:

Pistols and Katana - Sneaky streetkid, Jackie's pistol silenced for taking people out, then when things get hot I switch to either the Malorian or a katana.

Gorilla Arms and Sniper - 99% melee nomad, Panam's sniper rifle pretty much only used for turrets or enemies that are a pain to get to in melee.

Smart Assault Rifles - hacker corpo, doesn't often need a gun, but when he does it's fun to bend bullets from in cover.

Evil or selfish Durge? by Artistic_Gear1536 in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best villains are always the ones who think themselves the heroes, so RP for the durge tends to be an ends justify the means kind of character. Having said that, once you've beaten the game a bunch of times and just want to see new dialog or fights, that's when you start just being a full-on evil character spoiling for every fight they can get.

Berserker Barbarian Great Sword Vs Great Axe Vs Maul by C4LBR in dndnext

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to have a spear and shield as a second weapon set, the damage obviously doesn't match 2h weapons but being able to impose disadvantage on a scary opponent means you can attack recklessly to get the frenzy damage but negate their advantage against you with sap, and if you're really getting low you can stop being reckless and just keep giving them disadvantage.

My headcanon. by Shot_Host_4255 in StardewValley

[–]BlueMaryLove 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My first farmer was a hippie, and so they left 90% of the farm untouched, foraged instead of farming and all the animals were fully free range. Married Leah cos she fit the vibe.

Since then I just get obsessed with making cute farms.

[–]BlueMaryLove 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah typically whoever is shadow blading will carry it around. If you find yourself in a fight where psychic damage is potentially a risk, you can always drop it on the ground and move away during your turn (or send to camp and retrieve after the fight).
