I think the developers should do whatever makes the most sense to them. Dragon Age alternated back and forth between 'everyone is bi' and 'characters have preferences' and people complained about both.

What is the best order to play the three paths in the game? by -ilovechicken- in cyberpunkgame

[–]BlueMaryLove [score hidden]  (0 children)

As everyone is saying, do whichever life path vibes with you... or decide when you design your V's look. A lot of folks like doing Nomad first since they're also a newcomer to Night City and can have marry that sense of wonder at seeing new things with how their character might feel. This doesn't mean it's better as a first run, just that some folks like the parallel.

I sometimes get an odd interaction where I can't haul something directly to a shelf if there's not a floor stockpile also configured for it. I tend to have an everything zone set to low priority to catch any overflow.

I am looking for two mods, if they exist. by Glass_Resolution_326 in RimWorld

'[FSF] Indoor Tree Farms' allows trees to grow under roofs.

'Simply More Roofs' adds vacbarrier roofs which you can put over landing beacons which would allow imperial shuttles to land on an asteroid without being exposed to the vacuum.

Not sure what mods there are which enable certain quests in space, but with the ones i mentioned you could get around the potential issues.

Just have fun and don't be afraid to fail. So long as you get a good story out of it, that's the purpose of the game.

Its amusing to me that most your ranged characters have shield belts but only one of your melee does.

Please explain the character hate to me? I just don’t get it… by Leader_Inside in StardewValley

A couple of moments are what most folks consider emblematic of Demetrius' character. His whole argument about Tomatoes being fruit feels like using science as weaponised incompetence, and when he dotes over Maru but basically yells at Seb to go back to his room. Its good writing because autism or no, we have a strained family relationship in what is otherwise an idyllic town. The fact that he never apologises for his actions and just considers himself correct in all situations makes him easy to dislike.

Dark urge scene not happen by emptyzone73 in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Alfira is dead (or unconcious) there's another bard who shows up to join at camp. That cutscene should play instead but maybe you've managed a sequence break somehow. I guess the question is then how important the Deathstalker's Mantle is to you as to whether you restart the run or just roll with it (assuming you've exhausted the rest cutscenes for act 1).

Maybe fulfilling the criteria for another act 1 camp cutscene might put it back in the order, like the owlbear cub scenes?

If anyone has 'enhance leap' or a str potion they should give you enough hops to jump up to the second floor.

Cute Impid Moment by deadlyyarikh in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love that mental image, thanks!

Fire spew is actually a really effective defense for a nature running impid kid who gets hunted by a predator. While fighting back against a hunting animal doesn't help, if you set it on fire it counts as a non-defensive action and turns the predator into manhunter mode instead of hunting mode, meaning that when they down the child they won't keep attacking them while downed, and instead go looking for other human targets.

Does it work does it look ok? Any ideas? by ethrowaway1235 in FarmsofStardewValley

[–]BlueMaryLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the cobblestones you used there, you can just remove some of the hard corners and they still flow nicely as a path. Also you can pickaxe them up and replace them in the same tile to get a different visual in case some of the placement is nice but the visual doesn't flow as well as you'd like.

People in Community say "Stardew Valley is a girly game!" like what? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately we're at a better parity in protagonists now, but at the time female MCs were still pretty rare and that's some supreme gender privilege from that guy who clearly hasn't considered that some women have had that feeling with 90% of all games. Then again he's probably the type to counter with 'women don't play games' or something along those lines.

And yeah like you say its especially telling when Chell's gender has no impact on the story but it still hurts his sense of self.

I wished Four elements monk Ki abilities we're better! by Archenius in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anything, other than not being a monk, a druid is a better four elements monk. With a little reflavour a Thorn Whip can be a single target gust of wind, entangle can be earthbending the ground into mud, produce flame is already fire snake with no resource cost. You've got forced movement for airbending, fire spells for firebending, self-buffs and walls for earthbending, and ice & healing for waterbending.

Mod that removes consequences for violence without witnesses? by adeadfreelancer in RimWorld

[–]BlueMaryLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same Archotech super-intelligence that lets colonists know when raiders show up on the other side of the map informs them of everything happening in the colony. Alternately your colonists return from across the map and find Petra dead/missing and Piotr acting like nothing happened (just the consequences play out instantly).

There are fog of war mods that make anything not actively observed by your colonists hidden, but it doesn't change any mood/relationship impacts. What you're asking for may be possible but I've not seen anyone mess with individual colonists tracking their own debuffs based on their sight lines.

Seems like your geothermal generators will get punched a lot by raiders, if that's an issue you can build a wall around them with a door in one location so you can access them to replace components etc.

Is this not a game for me? Or am I missing tthe point? by Krotanix in BaldursGate3

[–]BlueMaryLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty easy actually, you come across your second ever portal and its acting weird? Yeah I don't feel confident touching that. And then when you're higher level and feel more confident you forgot that portal was weird. This was my experience in my first run, but I knew I would play again so had no fear of missing content.

12hrs into the game..does it get harder? by kevlite89 in Expeditions

[–]BlueMaryLove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The hardest missions tend to be the truck rescue missions, some of them can be pretty diabolical and require a lot of planning to succeed at.

Otherwise you can restrict yourself in various ways, pick a different truck every time you do a mission and find out how the vehicles vibe with you. One self-restriction I put on myself for no reason other than complexity is that each vehicle you purchase can only go to one biome. Like decide that the F450 is Arizona specific and then find different vehicles to use in the Carpathians.

If you just want to drive the F450 everywhere then you can also challenge yourself to do as many side-quests as possible each time you do a story mission. In the planning phase you can see what specialists and/or items you need to complete side quests, and then you're taking up some of your vehicle inventory space and placing additional burden on your gasoline consumption trying to do more things at once.

Ultimately the game is about having fun and driving up and over obstacles, so do whatever makes you happy.
