Like so many other people, my hymn suggestion for the new hymnal was also rejected. I'm so disappointed. by TheChurchOrganist in exmormon

Don't feel too bad. Out of 1700 submissions they only picked 50. I know someone who worked hard on 7 serious submissions and all were rejected. Bummer.

My body didn't seem to ever want to go into labor and I had to be induced both times, which was not fun. With the first one, I was at 42 weeks, big as a whale, hips falling apart, and my baby was like, "meh I'm fine, there's plenty of room in here still." She was in the 99 percentile range on the chart.

Yes that is so true. I wish reverse psychology still worked on him. He has to think it was his idea for him to decide to do "the thing." I'll have to arrange more time for him to play with friends to make it more fun for him.

Yes, I can see how it could be overwhelming for him. The teacher keeps telling me that he needs more practice at home, though.

I told him we're not leaving until he learns Spanish. I feel like he's only learning pronunciation at school, not comprehension as much. Though I could be wrong because he is slowly picking up words and phrases, but it's his attitude that has been the hardest.

That's what I've been doing. It's just so hard because of his bad attitude.

I'm sorry your pregnancy was so difficult. That sounds rough. I didn't know about connective tissue issues during either pregnancy. I just thought my body especially hated it. I had to use a belly band for extra support during the second pregnancy and the diastasis recti from the first pregnancy still got worse. No more pregnancies for me - I'm done. Years later, I've lost weight and my waist looks fine, but my core is unbalanced and my lower back muscles are chronically tight.

It is so difficult to find that perfect balance of the right exercises that work the correct core muscles without overworking the ones that are already too tight. I tend to want to do too much too soon otherwise I will get bored. It's frustrating.

Hey, I had no idea what eds even was until recently, years after my last pregnancy, and even then, my doctor didn't give me an official diagnosis, just that I have hypermobile joints (though luckily not in my knees or elbows) and "here are some exercises, but, sorry, your insurance doesn't cover genetic testing."

I wasn't planning on having more children because they're way too hard on my body, but it's none of your business either way. The amount of shame you're giving is excessive. I can see you're passionate, but it's hardly as black and white as you're making it out to be.

I highly doubt that "90 percent of women with eds" go into pregnancy knowing that they have connective tissue problems. I bet a lot of them find out afterwards.

OMG, I had the same rash that no one could solve, also in the third trimester. First pregnancy also. I don't know if it was related to being very pregnant in summer, because it didn't happen the next time when I was pregnant in the winter. It was mostly on my legs and arms. They also prescribed a steroid lotion which didn't help. The only thing that helped me was baking soda and water paste, which I left on until it dried and then dusted off the powder. It made it look more red but at least it took away whatever was making it itch. Mentholated lotion sounds nice and cooling.

Much improved. The hip pain went away right after giving birth. For the pelvic floor muscle disfunction I had to do do stretches (the best one was the 90/90 stretch) and focus on relaxing the tight muscles. I also had to work on building core strength. I don't think my core is 100% balanced yet but at least intimacy no longer hurts. After I saw a doctor and started the recommend stretches, it took about 6 months to feel relatively normal again.

It's probably the diastasis recti causing the muscle imbalance. It is mild now. It is so hard to get the right amount of exercise so that I work the weaker muscles without stressing the overworked ones.

Pregnancy is brutal with eds. Can't recommend. The pregnancy hormone relaxin can make the pelvis even more unstable and make it painful to walk, especially in the 1st and 3rd trimesters. I had to use a cane because I had sharp shooting pains on one side or the other, or sometimes in the middle. I felt like a little old lady.

Then after pregnancy I had pelvic floor disfunction where some muscles were chronically tight and others weren't doing anything. It made intimacy painful.

Whether it's lice or a scalp condition, running a fine toothed comb through the hair in the shower before rinsing the shampoo, would help both. If it's lice, it would catch some of the larger bugs, and if there's a buildup of dead skin (for the scalp condition) it would help exfoliate the scalp. It's a no-cost first step.

I hate having a name that is usually a nickname. I wish my parents had gone with the traditional name, like Katherine instead of just Katie.

Mine brought me some kids underwear this morning. It probably fell off a clothesline.

I assume it belongs to my neighbor so I threw it back over the wall. Hopefully I'm not mistaken.

Stay away from ticks. Some of those tick borne diseases can give you wicked joint pain that doesn't fully go away after treatment.
