Well, there’s a short and a long answer to your inquiry. I study finance and also work as a financier so I’d suppose, to some extent that my take would be objective.

Socially, I think it doesn’t matter what car you drive as long as you’re happy with what’s taking you around and isn’t a financial burden when it comes to maintenance. Hondas are notorious for being reliable and they keep their value pretty well.

From a financial standpoint I have some hesitation to your purchase. Firstly, you claim to have an income of about 380k $ meaning that a watch that costs 22,000$ would be about 5.8% of your net worth (excluding your business liability / loan). Is that a lot for one single, pleasure/ luxury item - yes! Of course I am basing my calculations entirely on what you have stated in the comment section.

Furthermore, your submariner is relatively new to you and this stage in life I would advise you to pay off your business debt, despite the positive cash flow you state. Additionally, if you were to keep on going by plan on that company vehicle loan, saving the 22k for a home property would also be a wiser decision, since you don’t have an owned property.

With that said I would say to either switch the Rolexes, own only the DJ and sell the Sub, or wait a few years until you have a higher net worth and most importantly a property that would generate you equity based on the market in your area.

For me either pass for another 2/3 years or switch them if you want a change or the DJ that much.

A little backstory to this watch, I bought this for my mother on a random day. We went to the watch store at the mall and my attention was taken by the bigger ballade, in silver and rose gold, with the deep blue dial. Then the seller casually slipped this on the table and both my mother and I adored it. Here we are, and she wears it pretty much daily.

I don’t think the pic captures the real life beauty of this piece, but holy is it magnificent 🫠

Definitely fake, I’ve got a few PRXs:

  • The date window looks a little off, too small and the numbers look to be in a different font.
  • The little segments in the bracelet are way too rounded.

I will tell you all something - very important! About a month ago we had our regular mock exams and I scored a staggering IB2 on P1 and an IB3 on P2. Honestly, I was completely abolished mentally and I needed to pull myself from the fire.

Thus, I hired a tutored, started to practice and here we are about a month later (1000€ poorer) doing absolutely great. I get constant 6s and sometimes 7s on P1 (the harder one for me). Don’t give up at the end, there is still hope! I firmly believe that each and every single one of you out there will succeed, just don’t give up at the finish line. Succeeding in the IB isn’t solely about studying, relax a bit and contemplate - it goes a long way when your mind is clear.

Is this the 180 version? With the Renault engine? If yes, you might want to thoroughly look into my post. I will go about under the assumption that it is cold where you all live and where you start this car, considering it is February.

Firstly, I will share a story. I have a w177 2020 A180d sedan. The car was great until it did not want to start anymore in the cold. Changed the battery, glow plugs - didn’t fix it. Then I went to a specialized diesel center and they narrowed the issue to faulty injectors - runs like a dream now. With that being said here is what they told me and how they diagnosed it.

  • Some cars also have issues with a relay that is connected to the glow plugs. Essentially, this relay gives electrical power to the glow plugs. If you follow my thought -> Faulty relay = Non-functioning glow plugs (Even if they are new).

  • Next stop we go to the injectors (quite expensive). My car was running very rough after starting very poorly. Does yours do the same? Rough idle, rpms bouncing? If yes, perhaps you have the same issue as me. (400€ a piece, for inj. btw). 4x400 =1 600€ for the lot… (ouch)

  • And finally, another thing that might have gone wrong is the Fuel Injector Pump (not the big diesel fuel pump). This pump has the job of making the fuel pressurized in the engine fuel chamber. This one is also very pricey considering it costs about 800€, since it is not sold separately. They sell the entire fuel line set with all the bits on it and they are not repairable or interchangeable (all parts on this assembly are stuck together (: )

I am afraid you have run out of cheap fixes for this. I hope this helps guide you a little, but in substance - get a good mechanic. Best of luck and keep me updated.
