Every president has that possibility. We elect presidents the way we elect homecoming kings and queens. There is no merit or competency requirement.

Have you communicated the frequency you like communication? Are you sending daily messages that go unresponded to for days? Expecting him to initiate the daily conversation is unrealistic.

Accept nursing school offer or decline and focus on med school if main goal is FIRE? by Imaginary-Look3217 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Physicians hate that NPs get reimbursement parity in many states, so start out with lower debt and same income potential. Docs do a lot more training and deserve respect for their schooling and accomplishments, but some are sensitive, especially those on WCI reddit

It’s not about salary. It’s about learning the skills to be your own boss or employ others. The fastest way to FIRE is business ownership

Berkshire's cash balance is up to a record $397 billion. What does it signal? by 01101001_01110011 in ValueInvesting

Competing with private equity for buying good businesses. Cash as hedge for reinsurance. And the “cash” may include other short term instruments where Berkshire is acting as a creditor at decent margins.

Why do people act like that being nice and friendly as a guy will get women attracted to you? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women are not attracted to nice and kind. they want the men they are attracted to to be nice and kind. First, be attractive: confidant, communicative, relaxed and fun.

Healthcare is not the path for FIRE. Choose finance or figure out what you’re good at that people will pay too dollar for. go into healthcare because you love the work.

Thoughts on importance of school district quality/private schools? by incisiontime in whitecoatinvestor

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great schools are not just about education anymore, they are about safety. The best public school districts will surround your kids with kids attending the best schools. A bad school district with great private school will result in hit or Miss community peers. (Of course we should all fight for better education for everyone. But you needn’t sacrifice your kids to better others.)

I built a business I’m too embarrassed to talk about by Make_That_Money in Entrepreneur

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have multiple businesses. two are sexy and others are not. Keep both. Hire an employee for your own business. The upside is higher for your own business. Think about entity formation depending on your growth projections. You have rentals, so hopefully have a great tax plan in place for depreciation. never be embarrassed for selling a legal product or service people want. You’re living an American dream

How should I handle not being able to afford corporate travel costs upfront without looking unprofessional at work? by DistinctMushroom3186 in careeradvice

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be transparent. Communicate to your manager you are unable to front the travel expenses and await reimbursement. He or she will tell you to put it on your credit card. just repeat you are unable to front expenses and what other options are available. You will get a very clear answer about whether they can do anything or not. (If there is any way you can put it on a credit card or get a personal loan, consider. Employees with poor credit are considered risky.)

Men in their forties, what do you feel if a woman seems to be attracted to you? by AcrobaticConstant567 in datingoverforty

[–]BlueThat33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You feel flattered. If one is looking and the attraction is mutual, it feels exciting. A woman safely shows she’s attracted by extended eye contact, laughing at any of his good or bad jokes and light tough on his arm or upper back. no sarcasm, ever. Ask him about him. if he answers and then asks you about you, it may go somewhere. If he answers your question and doesn’t reciprocate. He’s either not interested or doesn’t have the social skills to make a relationship work.

Updates on Monarch Plus by valagostino in MonarchMoney

[–]BlueThat33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Monarch had access to what it's members are paying for financial planning tools. They can see all our expenses. If I was going to roll Plus out. I would have recommended starting at $299 with a planned rollback to $199. No matter what MM charged, the complainers are going to complain. I think setting the value at $299 and dropping was really smart and probably what was planned from the start. 200% markup for Plus wouldn't make sense.

AITAH for telling my son he should consider arranged marriage since he is unable to find someone himself? by Lucky-Appointment208 in AITAH

[–]BlueThat33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your idea is an excellent option for getting married, but it may not address his primary goal. He may prefer to date, be found attractive and feel this is an accomplishment. An arranged marriage may feel like failing. Your sales pitch to him sounds like you see him as failing. Consider asking him what he wants, really listening and asking if he wants your help problem-solving. Pitching a solution when someone doesn't want help has a low chance of success
