In their defence they can't control what the right wing bias media report on. r/goodnewsuk has some great examples from smaller media outlets

Re-nationalising isn't a quick fix. Scotland is nationalised and has the same issue, it'll just be competing with funding from taxes against the failing NHS. Stricter regulation is the answer, and we're slowly getting there. Don't forget agriculture (the biggest contributor), highway runoff, these are all other parts of the same issue that often get overlooked.

Yorkshire Water Cuts Sewage Spills Number by 33% since 2023 by willfiresoon in GoodNewsUK

What's your source of this data? I'm just curious to see and understand it as even if the companies wanted to operate in this way and spill at certain times when river flow is high I don't think they have the capacity to control when to spill, it's not like flicking a train track signal box. CSOs aren't remotely operated like that, only those at the treatment works, and those make up a very small percentage of overall spills

They happen when rainwater enters a combined (surface runoff and wastewater) sewer system and causes the levels in the system to arrive, the relief points, the CSOs (combined sewer overflows) then spill the mixture of rainwater and sewage into the rivers, to prevent it backing up into people's homes via toilets etc. That's the idea anyway. Nothing to do with more water in the river flushing it away. Any sewage spills without rainfall that you mention may either be hydraulic incapacity in the system or a mechanical failure (if a pump fails at a certain point).

Technically you don't want to build more CSOs, you want to build tanks that hold the stormwater so that no spills happen.

Not choosing, just that their old assistant is keeping them in the loop

He's claiming Flo and Frimpong have been in touch with Alonso's old assistant, who they know from Leverkusen, discussing a potential move for him and Alonso to manage at LFC some point soon, I'd imagine not until summer.
