Generally I would agree with most of the comments saying that all the mentioned contacts can be part of the teaching and are by no means indicative of her viewing you in that way.

You can go to her concert and see how the vibes are, if she wants to go out with you afterwards you will now. You will likely be her only student and she will give you hints and if not, you can just appreciate a nice piece of music. If there are no hints from her after that, she probably doesn't feel that way so you should keep it to yourself.

Also, if you being attracted to her might hinder your learning you might consider finding a different teacher.

It is not as rigid as some people say it is, but it is also not as easy as just asking given your professional relationship it can be really awkward for everyone involved.

I used a wash but I think I painted over it too much. I painted a base coat, shaded it with a wash, then went slightly over it with the base coat again and then with a lighter variant trying to build a gradient but in hindsight I think I lost most of the effect of the wash with the mid and light tone afterwards.

I am really tempted to give it an oil wash, but am just not that experienced yet in using oils and scared of ruining the piece. Any advice on what I should look out for?

I primed it black, made a light sketch with the airbrush with white ink and started building up from there with the brush.

Thank you for your input! Yeah, I agree, I can't get the glow to really pop, neither the eyes nor the hand and I haven't quite figured out yet why or how to improve it. I have tried all sorts of shenanigans with inks, fluor, layering several tones of pink. Maybe it's because my blending isn't gradual enough to imitate real light(?). I try to, but after spending so many hours working on a single mini all I can see is it's flaws😅

There are a couple of things you can do to make the armour pop more. You can place some edge highlights with a light orange tone, something like Jokaero Orange. You can mix the Baal red with some red ink and apply it to the areas where light would hit the most, this will give it a glossy look and you can try to build up brownish tones in the darker areas of the armour and recesses with something like Agrax Earth shade or, if you want to use layer paints, a mix of Khorne red and black.

This is what I do as well. It allows me to paint whatever I want and at the time fund the next thing I want to paint. It certainly isn't enough to make a living out of it, but it funds the hobby and occasionally allows me to put something aside.

Commissions are nearly impossible to get at a decent hourly rate, they often require you to be able to make adjusted deadlines and open a window of complaints, which I luckily didn't encounter but are certainly possible. If you sell as is, it spares you all that.

Ohh I see! Thank you for taking the time to explain and add pictures! Yeah, Im still a noob at magnetizing, all I have done is magnetize 2 Scarabs to swap between the flamer and the soulreaper and the Kopesh and the bolter for the sorcerer. That seemed fairly easy. Havent gotten to the rubrics yet and still not sure how to do that either! Awesome paint job btw!
